I have no clue how many HP it made with that setup. In the movie it was stock 4speed auto trans for the om603 engine, maybe its named 722.3? Later i rebuild the IP to 8mm and changed to a ZF man 5speed trans from Bmw e46 diesel. 3bar boost and must have put out 400++ HP. Never had it on dyno but it pushed good considering its weight, often you see this enginebuilds in lighter chassis like the w201 190e instead of this 5m, 1800kg beasts.
thank you mate for answer, i am weighing between om606 and om603...how did the 722.3 auto handled all that torque? did it fail and that is why you replaced it?
After eating through two 722.3 trans i had enough and went manual. But the first wasnt 100% when i put it in and both probebly gave up because of overheating the oil. I ran the trans cooling in the stock watercooler, think it would have last longer with a separate cooler just for the transfluid. Only thing i did was to remove the vacuum to the trans and turn up the oilpressure a little, did slip some between 2-3 or if it was 3-4 gear on full boost so i had to let go of the gas some to let it properly lock the gear but never any problem when the gear was fully in.
Best chassis, best engine.
