He was. Maybe you just didn't know.
He was a U20 World champion in the 100m.
He was the American USATF champion back in 2018.
In 2019 Diamond league champion, beating Coleman in 9.86.
It's just that he stopped training the 100m in 2020 and 2021. In 2022 he focused solely on the 200m and then 2023 back to the 100m.

@@camsad8736 America as a continent is alright medal wise, USA medal count per capita or GDP is ok to poor. This is also inflated by the massive weighting of swimming events on Olympic medals and the relative ease that swimmers can compete in multiple events, given USA's performance in swimming. And with regards to world culture, Britain easily has had the biggest effect globally to date, which pains me to say. Chinese and Indian food is everywhere, not just in cities but in towns. In cities you get chinese and indian "towns". French and Italian food probably the most widely regarded and renowned. Olympic sporting, I've no idea what you mean by that but the above probably covers it. Music, yeah lots of good music from the America. I'd probably put war and currency at the top of that list followed by political influence which itself relies heavily on those two massively.

Despite this, despite being the first Italian below 9.99, he rebuilt his way to run, got back to a final and run 9.85 arriving 5th, with another medal time. Now you from your sofa write if. 5th is enough for me, 9.85 is another gold medal, the gold medal of respect, that only who knows what this guy went through these 4 years can understand. I wonder if Kishane would have won if he bent himself more at the end. In track and field you finish when your center of mass passes the line. That is why Noah Lyles won even though Kishane and other american Guy put their legs out further and they touched the line first with their legs. By bending yourself at the end you slightly push your center of mass forward saving you a bit of time. Now its not a lot but it is enough to save you 5 thousands of a second or 5 milliseconds. It might have costed Kishane the gold.
