  • IN this PiggyPower guide;
    Replacing your leaking/blocked heater matrix in your Peugeot 206.
    No need to remove the dashboard!
    It may just be the two sealing O rings, but total cost of parts is £16 for both the O rings and matrix, so why not do both!

    LEFT HAND DRIVE:
    To anyone attempting this on a left-hand drive - according to the Peugeot manual you must remove the whole dashboard to change the heater matrix. Most mechanics will quote you 3-5 hours of labor because of this. It is possibly by way of using a Dremel to cut the corner of the plastic dashboard away, then glue it back together after the job is done. Took approx. 30 minutes of cutting and gluing time. The cut is made in the lower right side by your knees, so you can't see the cut unless you know it’s there. But obviously you will always have some visual damage. The throttle pedal will also need to be removed for access. 15minutes in/out for that.
    (Thankyou to "free4all2" for that info)

    Hi Piggy, a great video clip without which I would have never attempted this repair. A few tips for those LHD enthusiasts. I have a 206+ version, not that its too different from the 206. Remove the panel under the steering wheel and the undo small chassis holding electrical sockets. I used fencing wire to hold the bits up and also the water hoses at the front. The console will bend and let you get the radiator out. And put a new one in :-). I saved oodles of € by doing it myself. Thanks to the video creator!

    I took my 206 to have the matrix removed. Used your video step by step and it worked brilliantly. Thank you so much 😊

    I used this guide at the weekend, worked a treat.. If you're just replacing the two seals you can save time by only disconnecting the TOP pipe going from the engine bay to the heater.

    Thank you very much, same comment as from free4all2. Saved me loads on my 1998 206 1.6 petrol. Your cameraman is a genius by the way ;-). All the best from Britany

    Thank you......great video. I spent a very pleasant couple of hours today replacing my matrix. Made a whole lot easier because of your tutorial. All working and leak free now! The only thing i would do different would be to leave off the sponge as it made it a real tight fit back into the heater. got there in the end though! Thanks again.

    Thanks for this love your channel. Daughter has 17 yr old and everything wear and tear seems to be failing but not unreliable. Cracking little car, shes owned for 8yrs 60k miles. Only wear and tear failures, never stopped. She loves it to pieces. Changed rear axle last year. Wished id paid a garage. Much swearing and scuffed knuckles but done. Renewed all brakes. Now got this leak, paper towel is same colour as dip in coolant header and tastes of antifreeze so presume coolant and tell tale white deposits on visible heater plastic. Did one f these on vauxhall carlton 20 yrs ago, dashboard out. NEVER again but this looks ok with your valuable vlogs. Thank you tompieces

    I've been searching for the fix of my puddle in the passenger foot well and finally I've found a really great and understandable video. Thank you!

    great stuff, i've just done a journey of 1686 mls to eastern Europe from Kent, and after arriving, on the second day, when I was about to clean the passenger mat, a green puddle a fresh antifreeze was stearing me in the eyes. Been quoted by a guy the equivalent of 100 pounds just to 'remove the whole dash, and mounting it back again'. Mine is a C4 citroen 2008, but with the same design almost. (slight variations on the engine bey) can't wait to fix it after the new year celebrating stuff. wish me luck, and a non-freezing-windy day:P!

    Excellent - thank you. I need to sort my matrix on a Berlingo. This has saved me a garage bill. Really appreciate your time making a great video.

    Really useful, thanks. The spectre of having to fiddle with my 206 heater box looms large because my fan squeaks and my Aircon smells bad. Anything that (even partially) demystifies these jobs is valuable. Aircon cleaner spray, proper stuff as I remember, was really just pretty smelly perfume.
