Karina, that was so wonderful to see. I watched you before you moved to Brazil and sewed in a small little room with an old serger and couldn't even buy patterns. Now look at your studio/sewing room! You've come a long way and all that hard work has paid off. Your tutorials are always the best. So detailed and easy to follow. Thank you for your years of hard work. Don't let the power failures get you down. You always do an amazing job. Happy sewing.
Love that you invited us in as friends. . .just being your amazing self. Thank you so much for all you do! You and I spend many hours together via TH-cam lol!
Thanks for inviting me in! There's nothing quite like a sewing room re-set to get me into the mood to sew! I am wondering where/how you store your patterns? Thanks for all you do on your channel; I learn something from each video and I really enjoy the time I spend with you!
I would never have imagined you accomplished all you do in your small but very efficient space!! I will never again complain that I have a smalish sewing room @ 12x12 ft. Your cleaning schedule is very impressive but I can understand, with that dust, why you need to do it. Thank you for sharing all your sewing knowledge with us your effort really shows. I always try to see your makes of new or present patterns you’ve made up because, among many reasons, you seem to be about my size and my younger height of 5’8 1/2”. Age, spine compression fractures and surgery have reduced me down to 5’5! Thank you so very much
Thank you for working around your power outages to show us your "world". I truly appreciate the 9 hours that you put into producing a video when you could be sewing! You are very generous.
I thoroughly enjoyed this video Karina and I am so impressed with the amount of time and effort you put into your videos. You are such a pleasure to watch and listen to. Thanks so much!
I have a sleeve board that I’ve had since the 80’s. I almost got rid of it until I remembered I can make more than clothes. I bought a regular ironing board cover and cut it up and recovered it. I even used the new padding because the old padding was basically gone.
Thank you for inviting us to ‘yr space ‘ , and what a cute and lovely room . I love how you setup the whole room , it is functional and comfortable . Pls do not cry , the way the weather acts is definitely not yr fault and we all can wait until you finish yr filming. Love to see the way the weather acts on yr side of the world . In my country , in Europe it is still 28 degrees, such a long summer . Thank you for doing yr best to teach us better sewing . You r the BEST ❤
I just did exactly what you did. I can’t work when there’s a mess either. I had threads little pieces of fabric. Oh yeah, and the dust. I have a very small space that I live in and I took over the dining area for my sewing room and it works out perfect especially now that it’s clean! I love your videos thank you so much for all you do.
Thanks for sharing your sewing room, the new layout, new cutting table, and - lol - even the deep cleaning. You keep it real for us! I always learn from your videos. I’m even more impressed with your content and quality now that I see your space. I feel your pain about power outages, we have them too, but I can only imagine your heartache when you can’t produce your sewing or videos. ❤
Where the magic happens ✨️ Im such a nosy sewist, I love watching other people sewing space👀🤭. You look joyous in your space ✨️ Thank you for always making wonderful videos 💕
You work so much for the videos! The quality of your videos really show it and, speaking for myself, they often make all the difference. Thank you for all your work and dedication.
What a fun video, Karina. I was watching as I cleaned my bedroom. Lol thanks so much for sharing your personal space. I gave up my TH-cam channel because the editing takes so long. I’d rather be sewing. But please don’t stop making videos. You’re so excellent and you’re sewing is amazing. I have learned so much from you and I have been sewing for over 60 years.-Claudia
That was fun to see; you're very good at staying tidy. I can relate to the dust - we also live rural (Minnesota, USA), and currently have been in a drought, which, combined with windy days, gets everything dirty and dusty very quickly. Storms, trees and branches to be cleaned up, and power outages happen here regularly, too; soon we'll have the winter season and snow storms to deal with for a few months also! Always challenges! Good thing we have sewing for therapy! Mavis
Sewing rooms get so messy, even if you clear away as you work. I agree with you regarding having increased productivity when your sewing room is clean and tidy.Regardless of the colour, I wish I had a big cupboard like yours to store fabric. I have made two Wanderlust dresses; love that pattern.
You are inspiring me to do a deep clean of my sewing room. I clean after every big project, which can included many garments, but moving furniture around is a great idea. I'm sorry to hear about all of your power outages, very annoying for you. Thanks for all the work you do for us!
I just did the same thing. I found a few items I had completely forgotten about. One was a table runner that a co-worker had asked me to put a backing on for her, probably about 6 years ago. I didn't remember it until I found it while cleaning. I completed it for her and gave it back to her yesterday at a lunch meeting. She didn't remember it at all. She said, "I will have to ask some of my extended family, about who sewed the top side of a quilted table runner." It so wonderful to have everything tidy and organized.
I appreciate and love you videos. You really explain it in baby steps and I so need that. I love your sewing space. It looks so neat and so functional. I just got back in my sewing room today 10/26 from 10/11. I had some breathing issues and my doctor diagnosed me with adult onset asthma. I got pretty bad before I received my inhaler. I couldn’t even hardly talk because I didn’t have enough air to get words out. Also my chest was heaving in & out. Finally got an inhaler and I’m doing great. Took some time to rest up though before I felt like sewing. Those are some crazy storms you get. I have heard they have some generators that are not diesel but electric. You charge them up by keeping them plugged in and also by solar (sun).
I love watching clean-up videos and I really loved seeing your organized system. Storms/power outages are G-d's way of telling us to slow down and take a break. I loved this video❤thank ypu
Yep, no better feeling than a freshly cleaned and organized space. I’m in desperate need of doing that to my own sewing room, but I can’t seem to make myself stop long enough to do it, even though I’ll feel better when it’s done. Perhaps this weekend.
Mine is barely walkable so I need to get moving and do it! I have some mobility issues so my family gets worried about me going upstairs for fear of falls. I am pretty determined to work on it a while today. I can’t sew until I make some progress.
Wow! it must be spring cleaning for sewist...I did that almost a month ago and like you I need to change the furniture around in my house or in my sewing room every 6 months. It drive my husband crazy but I like when things looks fresh and organised. Your room looks amazing and Im sure you feel more procuctive in it. Well done, 👏👏❣
So fun to see your space! Just seeing how much equipment goes into filming and how much time it takes to edit videos makes me appreciate your videos even more ❤ I love the way you structure your videos, always so clear and straightforward, and the styling at the end is like a cherry on top 😊 I am always moving things around too 😊 Regarding the cutting table, if you have room somewhere in the house for a ping pong table, they make amazing cutting tables!!! And you can play ping pong on them too 😂 I moved my sewing setup out to the basement so I can be close to the ping pong table and I love it. I also like being out in the open so I don't feel like I am abandoning my family when I sew. I have to walk over to the laundry room to iron, which is not the most efficient, but I don't mind, it gets me to stretch and move around a bit. Thank you for sharing this!
I just enjoy your videos. Maybe one day you could tidy your fabric on camera :D You’re inspiring me to clean my desk area. I don’t have a sewing room but do have a big desk in the garage where my sewing machine lives
Loved the tour of your sewing room/studio. You are so organised! The storm and lightening was spectacular but I can imagine how frustraing it must be when you have deadlines.
Yes it was! I had a plan and deadline and it all went down the drain. Also, the water was rushing in from under the doors and the windows. It was chaotic.
Fun to see an efficient set up and sorry about your weather interruptions ! Looking forward to when you are able to present these new garments :). I really like hearing about your area and weather patterns as I live in Canada and basically I think local weather really dictates our living habits .
Thanks for showing your sewing space! Its really nice. That fan is really awesome, quiet and still very functional. We've had some spectacular storms also. Glad you are ok, even with the power outages! We invested in a gas powered generator but its really for emergency only , like a 3 or more day power outage. We pnly used it twice on the last 6 years.
What a nice happy place - the size is irrelevant. You have all you need in one spot. That is quite the rain storm. We are having a lovely fall here in central Alberta, Canada, but could wake up to winter any morning now. Thank-you for sharing!
Thank you so much for sharing where the magic happens. I have to share my space as it’s our laundry room. But, I still appreciate the space…it’s my little corner.
You deserve a🎖️ Karina. I feel for you with the power outage. There have been lots of storms here in Australia with outages too, but I don't have your deadlines to contend with. Thanks for your tour. I'm seriously impressed by the content you create in limited space. Well done.❤
Karina. I use your TH-cam site a lot because it is so good. I do have trouble finding somehow to search for a particular item through your videos. I've recommended your knit finishing tutorial for instance to several people but when I go to find the link for them I end up scrolling through all your videos to find it. If I click on the search button at the top it just goes to the main TH-cam site. I'm not sure if you can install a search function just for your channel or maybe I'm not looking in the right place?
Love the tour and good to see your personal space. My mom gave me her ironing board and I treasure it. I recovered the board (the old board was ripped and stained) so that I could keep it unfolded. A curtain could work for the dark wood. In my area, I have no door. Keeps everything light and neat. My home is also a rental. The video has that early Bolivia feel when Martin was a young boy. You look beautiful in your makes.
Love your sewing studio space! Lovely practical flooring for cleaning 😎 Shame about the power outtages, can't argue with nature can we. Thanks for sharing Karina
I sure would be nice if Ecoflow or Jackery would offer you a chance to try out their portable power sources so you can be in your happy place and we don't have to wait on you wonderful videos.
I think it’s the humidity, but here in Florida, the dust seems to stick to surfaces and has to be scrubbed rather than simply dusted with a cloth. I dust everything every week, which helps, but a regular scrubbing is necessary to keep, the mess in check. I understand your pain.
Thank you for showing your sewing and filming room. Your tuition is by far the best. Any chance you could show how you store your patterns. My pattern stash is not a pretty sight.
These aren’t cheap, but if you’re looking for a cabinet for all your small notions, the metal tool cabinets at Harbor Freight are great. Lots of small drawers, which are perfect for all the bits and bobs of sewing. HF will sometimes have them on sale, so keep an eye out for that. HF also has the big washers that can be used as pattern weights and other items for sewing.
This was a different video from your usual ones, and I really enjoyed it. It’s always interesting to see another person’s sewing room and i picked up a few hints for my own. I don’t know how you cope with the hot weather with no air conditioning? I live in South Australia and the summers here can be brutal, but most people here have air conditioning, I personally would go nuts without it! Also I didn’t know that editing took so much time, so I thank you for the work you do to make these videos!👍🥰
It's nice and clean now. I can't work in a mess either. Totally get it. I can see why you get a bit squirrely in that small room with everything in it that you need. I make my own ironing board covers, any size. It takes about an hour and is no more trouble than making a straight skirt with an elastic waist band. I use quilting cotton that is very inexpensive in the sale, but really you can use anything, the silver ones I have learned aren't necessary and it doesn't make a difference pressing with a hot iron. I have about 3 layers on my board now. Turn your board upside down on the fabric on the floor, trace around it, make a casing and put the elastic through. Done. 👋🇨🇦 PS I use cotton quilt batting underneath or use the padding from the old cover and just lay it on the board before putting on the newly made top.
Wow what a lot of dust in just 3 months - for me it would take over a year to have that amount - maybe even longer. And I'm not that good at cleaning so its good for me that I don't live where you are!😂😂 I really enjoyed your video today. Thank you. And so great that you have a new cutting table. I just yesterday said to my husband I need to have a higher table because my back gets very sore bending over. I have to lie down and stretch out for a while before I can continue.
It’s a very common problem and having a correct height cutting table is an essential for me. I found a collapsible one on Google but it only gets collapsed once in a while!
I really appreciate your tutorials..❤..so it felt a treat to see where you sew...thankyou...I'm always grateful my sewing room doesn't need to accommodate all the filming/editing paraphanalia!😆 Andrea
In my recent (just finished) studio rearrange/remodel I put down cork underlay over my maple flooring. I painted and polyurethaned the cork. I paint in my studio as well as sew. I didn't want to ruin my pretty floors with my messes. It buffers sound as well. I only used double sided carpet tape in a couple of places. It is renter friendly because it is not glued down to the floor. Just mentioning this because it cuts the echo.
Your job is such a big one! So much time! I've thought about starting a youtube channel because I cannot always find what I need and I think someone else might want to know how I figured something out. I just cannot imagine spending so much time editing. I'm exhausted thinking of it. Kudos to you! I always use your links, I hope it helps.
I totally get this! I live in an old house (built 1920) and the windows are not updated. We get a lot of dust. II just finished a big remodel/studio project and am still figuring out the little bits. I'm about to start on my first sewing project in months so I'm binge watching some of your videos. Great timing for the studio tour! P.S. I love that ironing board cart. I've never seen one like that and it is so practical!
Why don't you make your own ironing board covers for both the large one and the sleeve board? You can make a few out of quilting cotton or duck and then swap them out to wash as they get dirty. Dozens of tutorials on the internet for them. I used an old wool blanket for padding in mine, much better than the foam they include with new boards.
@@catsknit23 to be honest, I only ever enjoy garment sewing. Other things: curtains, cushion covers, iron covers…. I really dislike making them …. With passion lol. I’d rather use the time I have (super precious to me) for garments and my tutorials.
Thanks for the tour of your sewing room 💜 itd be great to see your fabric stash. I love seeing the reality of people's sewing space and stash...... so don't tidy up your stash if you choose to show us! 😀
Lovely room 🤩 I was wondering about the big square light you use. Where did you purchase this one? I don’t see it in your Amazon store. Thank you for sharing.
I'd love to know how to you sort your fabric, especially what you do with scraps. How small is too small to keep? I also have limited space and try to keep my area clear of clutter but it's really hard for me to get rid of fabric scraps.😊
I have been unable to find your code for Love Notions for several weeks. It used to be easy to find but not now. I see the link to the site but no code. I have looked through every word in the description. Not sure where pinned topics are but have tried everything. Everything goes to 11 months ago or to the LN site.
I read a story just yesterday from a lady who said she had an emergency generator set up for storms to keep all the essentials going in the house. Power goes out mid-project and she casually hooked up her sewing room to the generator and carried on :D
Unfortunately I can’t set anything up in a rental house. Any system here would be diesel generated and only big universities/malls/hospitals have them.
I actually love the doors and feel like it is part of experiencing your current location .. not sure this is available to you but I have seen Alexandra Grater (you tube interior designer) use removable wallpaper on hard surfaces to make them more appealing … you sewing room so so compact and organized.. and your personality is delightful .. thanks for sharing with us!
Loved to see your room. I’m happy for you. I wish I had a sewing room myself but my bedroom is big so I sew in there. Or the dining room table. Greetings from Idaho.

I love your videos! Thank you for sharing all your knowledge with us! I still use your guidance on neck binding! You rock.
Regarding the wooden doors of the cupboard, you could use liquid starch and fabric to cover the doors. Then when it is time to move, peel and wipe
Im awful at home DIY things and I’ve learnt to cope with the doors. I’d be terrified of ruining them. It’s super expensive native solid wood.
Thank you for all you do to create content for us.

If I click on the search button at the top it just goes to the main TH-cam site. I'm not sure if you can install a search function just for your channel or maybe I'm not looking in the right place?
Thank you for taking us along. The layout looks great. I LOL, because I get bored with furniture arrangements, too. It drives my husband crazy.
Thank you so much 😀😀
Love your sewing studio space! Lovely practical flooring for cleaning 😎 Shame about the power outtages, can't argue with nature can we. Thanks for sharing Karina
So true! That’s why I don’t cry anymore like I used to lol
I sure would be nice if Ecoflow or Jackery would offer you a chance to try out their portable power sources so you can be in your happy place and we don't have to wait on you wonderful videos.
Lovely video 🎉 take care🎉
I think it’s the humidity, but here in Florida, the dust seems to stick to surfaces and has to be scrubbed rather than simply dusted with a cloth. I dust everything every week, which helps, but a regular scrubbing is necessary to keep, the mess in check. I understand your pain.
Wonderful inspirational video. Under stand the power outage.
Thanks for sharing your space with us!❤
Thanks for watching!
Very efficient. Thanks for showing it to us.
Thank you for showing your sewing and filming room. Your tuition is by far the best.
Any chance you could show how you store your patterns. My pattern stash is not a pretty sight.
Thank you for all your videos and I loved looking at your work space 😊
These aren’t cheap, but if you’re looking for a cabinet for all your small notions, the metal tool cabinets at Harbor Freight are great. Lots of small drawers, which are perfect for all the bits and bobs of sewing. HF will sometimes have them on sale, so keep an eye out for that. HF also has the big washers that can be used as pattern weights and other items for sewing.
How fun to see your workshop!! Thank you for sharing!
It was super enjoyable to put together 😀
@@jeansdaughter thanks for that I will check it out And yes mine willingly be collapsed once in a while too!
I really appreciate your tutorials..❤..so it felt a treat to see where you sew...thankyou...I'm always grateful my sewing room doesn't need to accommodate all the filming/editing paraphanalia!😆 Andrea
Thank you for the tour really appreciate all that you do for us love the new room 😊😊😊
You have inspired me to get my sewing room neatened up. I'm not as neat as you cleaning as I sew. A good tip.
Great job with the room layout!!,
I did not have a polo shirt pattern and I do like them. Got it, Thanks!
Thanks for for sharing. Love your channel
I really like your ironing cart.
Thank you for sharing this, you've inspired me to get organized in my space! Can you share how you organize and store your patterns?
Need my slippers on to hoover scared of pins 😂
Just love your videos. !!!
Thanks for the tour of your sewing room 💜 itd be great to see your fabric stash. I love seeing the reality of people's sewing space and stash...... so don't tidy up your stash if you choose to show us! 😀
great job :)
Those four inches make a huge difference, don't they? I raised everything I could, every time I can - garden raised beds, cutting table, countertops..
You could make a slipcover for your heirloom mini ironing board.
Lovely room 🤩 I was wondering about the big square light you use. Where did you purchase this one? I don’t see it in your Amazon store. Thank you for sharing.
Very nice and efficient space! I'm curious why your sewing machine sits upon a cutting mat?
I would put the sewing table in the corner with the machine under the window. It would open up the center of the room.
I can’t put the table right under the window because of the rain. It would hit the machines.
I'd love to know how to you sort your fabric, especially what you do with scraps. How small is too small to keep? I also have limited space and try to keep my area clear of clutter but it's really hard for me to get rid of fabric scraps.😊
What type of vacuum cleaner do you use? I never can find a good vacuum cleaner for threads.
I have been unable to find your code for Love Notions for several weeks. It used to be easy to find but not now. I see the link to the site but no code. I have looked through every word in the description. Not sure where pinned topics are but have tried everything. Everything goes to 11 months ago or to the LN site.
I also struggled with this. I put in the 10needles45 one but nothing happened. I wonder if they changed how the discount codes work?
At the moment it’s 10needles45
It's amazing how you've made a small space so functional. What fun to see how you accommodate everything you need for filming.
My dream when Karina was a teenager haha❤
Ja ja
I read a story just yesterday from a lady who said she had an emergency generator set up for storms to keep all the essentials going in the house. Power goes out mid-project and she casually hooked up her sewing room to the generator and carried on :D
Unfortunately I can’t set anything up in a rental house. Any system here would be diesel generated and only big universities/malls/hospitals have them.
Orally awesome! That is why I want a generator. And for my fridge and freezer.
The essential! 😊
Love it , love your channel! Please put your laptopscreen a bit higher, for your health
Take a weekend to paint the closet doors.
It's a rental. I can't change them. Also, it's native real expensive wood. It would be a crime to change them.
