Watching you and your wee Westie sewing partner makes me miss my girl. She was my shadow and has been gone about 18 months now. She was 17.5 and a constant warm and cheeky presence.
Thank you! I did crack put my Silhouette and attempted some labelling on the shelf fronts but it was too much. Basket labels is all it needed… just got to get some more and finish them off ☺️
Welcome to the channel! So happy you’ve found my little part of the internet ☺️ The baskets are great. Come in 3 different sizes so can stack nicely in whatever space you have. I’ve got quite a few around the house now. I need to buy some shares in them if I get any more!! 😜
Thanks! Murphy bed has been considered but we've decided on the sofabed as it gives my family somewhere to hang out on when I'm sewing or editing my videos. I like the company 😊
Very inspiring, thank you. Your sewing room is nothing like mine--I've torn out my bed and sleep on the couch so I can have a dedicated sewing room so all the closets are filled with my clothes.
Beautiful job! I ziptied my power bar to the leg of my sewing table to get all the cords off the floor. Although my legs are different and are in the middle of the sides. Game changer.
The most important thing is for storage to work for you. Good job! We got rid of several halogen lights in our house which gave off poor light and did not match the decor of the house. So happy with it.
It’s keeping me tidy which is perfect. The lighting in this room has been a bugbear since I’ve been in it so excited to see how this LED panel works out. At this stage anything is going to be better that what I have currently!!
It will be the best choosing matching colors, especially for sewing and quilting. I pick out what I think makes a coordinated outfit, but when I put things on in the bathroom that has sunlight bulbs, they don't go well together.
Space looks great Kate, love the grey boxes with the wooden lids. I’ve just had a big sort out as well so I could get a cutting table in that raises up and down. It feels so good when you sort and clear doesn’t it x
The boxes are great. Easy to stack and pull out what you need. Worth the investment in them. Cutting table is stage 3. Once I get the sofa bed in I’ll check my space and see my best option for a fold out table. Less paw prints on my fabric that way!!
Thanks! True… but like having that little bit of magic there. Always puts a smile on my face when I open the wardrobe. Although now tempted to do that effect in my daughters room so can get the full effect 😁
I love the painting of the back of your wardrobe. I've been wanting to do that with my daughters wardrobe for a while now. I love the size of your fabric stash. I wish mine was a little more controlled like yours. I did spy some Godmother Brigiton inspired fabric there. Love it. Great video as always ❤❤
Definitely worth doing. I stayed in an AirBnB in 2019 and they had done it in lots of their rooms, mainly pastel colours and it looked so pretty, especially with down lights. I’ve been dying to do on it since and this was my one opportunity…. Although now eying off my daughters room 🤔
For a moment I thought you had two baskets of “undie patterns” and my brain got stuck in a loop trying to work out how someone could have that many underwear patterns (outside of an actual business). Thankfully, this caused me to miss a bit of what you said, so I rewound a bit of the video and all was right in the world again. 😂😅😂
Your space looks fabulous Kate and love the storage boxes with the wooden lids. Can you share where they are from please 😊❤ Love your channel! Just seen the boxes! 😂
Ooh… have you found them? I got the baskets from Euro Office as they were the cheapest place but got the lids from Amazon. A place for everything has them also. I actually got mine together from all 3 places depending on stock availability and price. There is a 3rd smaller basket you can get too so you can really optimise your space. Thanks for watching ☺️
It’s lovely, isnt it! It’s extra wide quilt backing in a cotton sateen. Rainbow Fabrics had this one and some other Tula Pink / Kaffe Fasset designs for a while but they were deadstock bolts. Just checked and they don’t seem to have any more… but if you google quilt backing fabric you might be able to find some somewhere else.
I’m not sure your location, but I’ve just seen that Rainbow Fabrics has just dropped another small batch of this fabric on their website if you are interested. Good timing!! ☺️
Love your space and your decorating ideas, but I do have a suggestion for you if you have the space. Instead of beading, it may be more useful to have a narrow picture shelf. You could display patterns, books, Nail Polish, whatever you want really 😊
Ooh.. I like this idea. I need to research a bit more before I leap into it. Originally I was going to do panelling on the bottom half but just going to go for the moulding rail for now…. But will look for one with a bit more self as that is a great idea ☺️ Thanks for watching!
The boxes are the StoreStack 10 Litre Boxes which are W400 x D255 and H150mm. I got mine from Euroffice but they're available other places (just don't get from Amazon as they are stupidly expensive on there for no reason!)
Not enough fabric! 😂😂😂😂 Good thing I don’t post videos myself of my sewing space. Disaster covers it. Too many fabrics and yarn, but I will say that a I’ve made big progress in that room in 2024. But it’s only half done.
🤣🤣🤣🤣 I swear I had more than this so was quite impressed it compacted into that relatively small space. Unless I’ve stuffed it all in other cupboard in the house I’ve forgotten about …. 🤔
For those fabrics, if they're on top of each other when you go to pull one out they're all going to come out.... Do as I say not as I do okay... Wrap them around foam board and safety. Pin them so they don't unwrap then they stand vertical and you can pull whichever one out you want, without pulling. Thank you for the inspiration. I need to get off my butt.
Thanks for the tip! I’m finding that using my hand as a kind of forklift to lift the ones on top up slightly to pull out something below is working. But if my stash keeps going and I’m packing them in I might need to go with the boards suggestion! Thanks for watching ☺️
Oh no! Sorry about that. I try to avoid things like that. This was a bit of a moving around video. Most of them are more static so hopefully this is a rare occurrence. I’m learning with each video so this is good feedback. Thanks for watching! ☺️
Lovely sewing space. The little dog is a STAR
Thank you!… and little floof thanks you for that comment ☺️
Your dog helping made me so happy
Same! 🥰
Great organization!
Thanks!☺️
Awesome ,job well done ❤
Fabulous it makes life so much easier 😊😊😊
It really does. Definitely a worthwhile investment 😁
Watching you and your wee Westie sewing partner makes me miss my girl. She was my shadow and has been gone about 18 months now. She was 17.5 and a constant warm and cheeky presence.
Awww… hugs. I’m sure she is still with you in spirit leaving precious little paw prints on your fabric 🥰
Kitty fabric... I love it. Love the space. Good job.
Thank you! Kitties are too cute! 😊
Excellent, combined craft art & sewing great! Love all your labelling!

I love the storage boxes Kate, very inspiring, a new subscriber here 💕🧵✂️🪡 13:10

You should consider a murphy bed-that would give you more space when you don’t need the bed!
Great job on the redo

You did a great job!! 🙂 Congratiolations!
Thank you!! ☺️
Awesome!!!
Thanks!! ☺️

The bed is going in the new year. Have earmarked a sofa bed so I have more sewing room… that’s stage 3!
@@RipperSeamsSounds great!
Beautiful job!

Oooh…. zip ties… love it!! Will have to explore this as an option for sure!!

Like the sparkle in the paint.
Me too… soooo sparkly! ✨
Nice closet
You did a very good job! That closet space looks very organized and accessible. It’s a shame that you can’t see your beautiful glittering paint more 😢
Thanks! True… but like having that little bit of magic there. Always puts a smile on my face when I open the wardrobe. Although now tempted to do that effect in my daughters room so can get the full effect 😁
@ Yes! That magic needs to be seen! 🪄✨
Great makeover! Well done you! Enjoy your new space..! (and it has inspired me to clean up my own space! ) Thank you! :) :)
Yay! Thank you! ☺️
Organisation queen ❤. It looks incredibly easy to use and tidy afterwards. 🎉
It is! Given I’m an untidy person and this is keeping me in check… I think I’ve done the right thing ☺️
Just found you on here and I love everything.
Yay! Welcome to Ripper Seams! 😊

@RipperSeams I've considered putting a mirror in there and a sneaky hiding spot for her precious things.
WOW! Amazing use of space xx
Thank you! I love it ☺️
Wow! Very inspirational!
Thanks for sharing!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Love it!!!😊
Thank you!!
Your new light is very interesting. Keep us updated what you think of it
Will do! Fingers crossed there will be an update in my next video 😁
I was amused by your pup going back and forth. Mine do, too! Which sort of makes things difficult...
She’s quite a character, that little one. Also a severe micromanager!!
Love it!! What's the green paint you used please Kate? We've been after a colour like that for our study!
It’s a Valspar paint called Bamboo Grove. Picked it up from B&Q. Lovely shade of green that’s not too bright ☺️

Curse of the loopy writing…. I can’t un-see this now. It has to be changed 🤣🤣🤣
I’d love to hear your opinion of the light you’ve chosen for your sewing room as I’m in desperate need of better lighting in mine too!
I’m curious too. It will hopefully get put up tomorrow so I’ll give my verdict in my next video if it is. Watch this space!
Your space looks fabulous Kate and love the storage boxes with the wooden lids. Can you share where they are from please 😊❤ Love your channel!

I am in LOVE with the oversized Tula Pink on your ironing board. Where did you find it?
It’s lovely, isnt it! It’s extra wide quilt backing in a cotton sateen. Rainbow Fabrics had this one and some other Tula Pink / Kaffe Fasset designs for a while but they were deadstock bolts. Did you go back to white shelving instead of the green?
The shelving was always going to be white. It was only the back of the wardrobe I painted green. Just needed something to take that pink away 😊
❤❤❤❤
What size are your bins for the McCalls/Simplicity patterns?
The boxes are the StoreStack 10 Litre Boxes which are W400 x D255 and H150mm. I got mine from Euroffice but they're available other places (just don't get from Amazon as they are stupidly expensive on there for no reason!)

i read "undie patterns" and thought how many patterns for underwear does one person need...
Yep me toooo🤪🤣🥰❤️😀
🤣🤣🤣…. Now my choice to write ‘Indie’ instead of ‘Independent’ is starting to seem unwise 😜
What size comic boards do you use please
27 x 18cm - brand is Acryls which I got off Amazon. Hope that helps ☺️

👗👏🏻
Ihave patterns from 🇩🇪 Germany and I thought you had patterns from India with different colors flowing fabrics types 😅
🤣…. I’m going to have to re-label now… India… Undies…. So many interpretations! 😜🤣
I would like to watch this video but it’s dizzying. So sorry.
I really like your content but the editing makes me dizzy sometimes. I'm getting old sorry.
