I have a question since you touched upon advanced sadhana practice: Do you focus on prana going upwards from Manipura to Bindu Visagra after the complete exhalation and finally on Bindu for the gap, Similarly do you focus on moving prana downwards from Bindu to Manipura during inhalation?

I have the same issues but its a process, and you will get there when the time is right...then will come the step up. Don't fight it, don't expect and be compassionate towards yourself. 🙏
Initially we control the breathe for may be 10 15 mins...then you will slowly let go of control..so just keep focusing on breathe for few minutes more..it will help..whether you are controlling it or not controlling it, it doesn't matter, just be aware of the fact that you are controlling it..don't fight it, it will automatically shift to natural after some time.
Is it necessary to master every meditation, or at least be able to do each without trouble, in order to move on to the next? I note the next one is a progression on this one, but I am finding it extremely difficult to focus on the gap between inhalation/exhalation, but the exhalation/inhalation I can focus on easily.
Today only I started to watch this practice bless me to do it daily
