The comments from South African viewers are generous, so, in all fairness, I have to balance the ledger by watching this one. The last game, at Eden Park, had the biggest crowd ever to watch a game in New Zealand - 65,000. Spectators were even sitting up in trees inside the park. The first time I saw the Springboks was nine years later, against Otago at Carisbrook.
I remember as a child listening at Satara Camp in the Kruger National Park on the radio at 3am in the morning with my dad and every other holiday maker to a SA and NZ game... that is how it all started for me at a very young age... I really believe they must bring back tours. Every other year the AB`s, then the RWC and then the Lions every 12 years...

NZ and SA playing each other every year, has killed the rivallry to a degree. Before 1992 they played each other in a series about every 5 years, in each others countries respectively. The games today seem less meaningful

Not really sure, he was a solid player. I think there were some games where he could be a little eratic, plus SA coaches had a facination with Monty. Delport could have played 50 tests
