  • Today, we're going to be replacing the valve cover gasket and performing a much-needed valve adjustment on this S54 motor! The E46 M3 should have this service done every 30-40k miles, as it helps ensure that the engine will run smoothly. Stay tuned for part 2 where we rebuild the vanos on this car as well!

    I love the channel, I have a question what oil weight do you recommend, I have a 02 E39 525i M54 with 152K I am also hearing some lifter noises.

    Great video!!!! I have problems set cams before valve adjustment.I put pin to crank shaft.l. put timing bridge ,but I can’t turn intake or exhaust cam with 24 mm tool. Can’t you tell me way please???thanks

    Hey my 328xi diff is cracked and I’m losing a lot of oil I was planning on deleting the differential but that would mean I’ll have to get an 328i oil pan right???

    Is the valve adjustment process the same for M62tu engines?

      M62 valves are "hydraulically adjusted" so oil pressure in the motor ensures the gap is always correct. So no adjustment is needed!
