- Mobil 1 The Grid finds Max Verstappen and Takuma Sato getting the chance to drive the first Japanese car to win a Formula 1 race. The Honda RA272 won the 1965 Mexican Grand Prix with Richie Ginther at the wheel. Verstappen will be hoping to win this year’s Mexican Grand Prix in the Red Bull RB15.

Kick ass! Sato is a cool guy
He really is. True story, back when he was driving for KV Racing I was working for Fujifilm Medical. The President of the company was coming to the Indy office in May. I called up KV and got the PR girl to send me a high res picture of the car on track. I then had it printed large format and then took it to the track during practice. This same PR person took me to the RV where I got to meet Taku and get him to autograph it personally in Japanese to our head honcho. He spent ten minutes trying to get me to get our President to the track where Taku could hard sell him on some sponsorship. "The car is already green!" he said. I heard that the President had the framed picture hanging in his office. I hope he still has it now that Taku is a two time winner.
