Same thing happened here in Canada ,normally end of May first part of June they are done , but right into the middle of July on and off, it’s definitely affected the normal transition of large shoals into the main lake areas

Thanks for the videos. Started fishing for carp a few years ago. Really started getting after them after watching your vids and learning from your tips. Never caught a Mirror before but last weekend pulled 3 nice Mirrors and a small common. Thanks!

Something similar happened here in western Washington. Their spawn got interrupted by a long stretch of cold weather in the late spring. A month later, the carp were at it again. The weather has been crazy this year.

Definitely something different about this fishing season. Carp have been a lot more scarce this year.
A few others have mentioned similar, hope it picks up for ya!
I first thought it was that they are near the surface to get air in the oxygen poor water but it looked like spawning for sure.
Two nice fish and you sure had to work for them, good job landing both of them. As far as spawning in July , well Tom when the urge strikes what's a man to do.

Same here (Missouri) I’ve caught some good fish, but seldom more than one/two per session…. And I’ve been skunked several times.
@Bikewer sounds like we're experiencing the same results. We're doing the right things ! The fish just aren't cooperating. Just keep watching tom catch them till they start biteing. Good luck

Algae bloom may lower the oxygen levels cause ing the carp to a get into shallow water looking for oxygen?
Boil some dry corn until its swells up. I flavour mine different flavours. Then hook it on the hair rig.

Another fishing adventure story!! Aahh, putting in the time and getting wet, I can relate. I like listening to your running thoughts as it helps hearing the voice in my head when fishing and confirms my crazy! I also like your caution as you wadded out after those fish. My wife always tells me to "Be careful", I respond with "I will sweetie, I'm not going to put myself in jeopardy for a fish!" I might get edgy though, hahaha. @@Bikewer I find mouse droppings every once in awhile in my basement so I use a metal garbage cans with a tight lid and store it there. Same with bulk oatmeal and feed corn. The mice can't get to it.
