Just to confirm that Schrödinger was completely unharmed at 04:03! (I knew he was there but the camera made it look like he was much closer to the debris!)

Hi Luke - do you do any talks to school regarding the Merthyr Rising?

Hi there! Very flattered to be asked. I'm not doing talks currently no - the channel is on a bit of a pause at the moment while I work on other projects (but we're considering a relaunch). This may be something I bring in in future though once we've relaunched! Hope your students are enjoying their studies and amazing history of their town. I'm not too far away in Abergavenny.

One thing not mentioned here, - Crawshay was always against, and never used the truck system.

can we have some information on the scotch cattle ? I
believe they were the "nasty" side of the chartist rebellion, in the pre trade union days, and as such, an absolute nightmare for the mine and landowners in the days of the merthyr rising and the chartist rebellion , yet there isnt much out there about them ?

We have a video soon to come on the Chartists so stay tuned! Although we hadn't heard of the 'scotch cattle' - what do you mean by 'nasty side', and is there a resource out there you know of we should check out? Thanks!

@@RadicalHistory the scotch cattle dealt with strike breakers and generally making life hard for the mine owners and iron masters, at one stage i belive they set fire to a coal train in llanilleth and it did a large amount of damage , i first found out about them in Alexander Cordel 's "the rape of a fair country" but im sure they were involved with the merthyr rising

@@kevthedruid Yes, and they were fond of 'Y ceffyl pren' - the Wooden horse. This was a wooden frame that the victim was strapped against and paraded around after being birched. Ah, the good old days,.......
