i love how there's a little bit of Megalo Strike Back (mainly the bassline) in some parts. it's seen as an undertale thing but was only ever on an earthbound album toby worked on. it's the undertale song that never was. kinda like how gaster is the undertale character that never was.
Such a cool character that absolutely needs to have his own fight and hidden story. He should only be accessible through file tampering though to give the impression that he is indeed this missingno-esque god like entity that exists beyond the fabric of the game's reality.

After killing Flowey, Chara would appear and begin talking, but she would get interrupted by a bone, from Gaster. He would then come on screen, and then the dialogue would start. He would also actually use a special attack. All for my idea of a Gaster battle.
honestly, my idea for gaster battle requirements is this: 1: it has to be right after (possibly after the second) genocide route. like, after chara murders the world (seeing as you both need to be i the void for gaster to interact with you, presumably) 2: Fun Value has to have been 66 at the start of the run (no need to even see the grey door). i say at the beginning of the run sice the FUN value resets to 0 when you encounter the gaster hallway and then you only get one try against him, if you win, you get to go back into the world, and not have the future runs be soulless. if you lose, your gamestate goes back to what it was when you first ever played it, but you also remain soulless

I dunno if this one of your intentions with the Gaster battle, but I _love_ the idea of how in the battle you simply must *survive* Gaster until he begins to remember something, and how the music picks up (and presumably the battle gets tougher) when you try to close the game (It would also be cool if the on-screen text somehow led you to believe that was the solution).

this song goes really well with how i think a gaster fight would be. a genocide route battle. you find him in the true lab when you try and find alphys to hunt her down. its just one long attack. you dont kill him. he escapes. this song isnt loopable like the rest of the ost. thats what makes this special.

I love it how Gaster is a character surrounded in mystery with just enough evidence pointed to make people speculate about him and then in Deltarune he gives you an egg behind a tree
I personally think if there was a Gaster battle, certain requirements would need to be met. You’d have to see him in his hidden room, first of all, and second, you would have to complete Genocide at most 10 times, something you can do to tell you’ve got it is if your character states something odd is in the wind, or that the characters have seam lines around their eyes, or perhaps Chara saying something isn’t right. After completing Genocide in that run, Chara would appear, looking terrified and haunted. She wouldn’t speak down to you as normal, but warn you because something is off for her. The air is cold. The screen fades to black, ENTRY 17 appears on screen as stated in the game. A sprite of Gaster would appear, and erase Chara from the game. Your health bar goes missing, and you begin the fight with Gaster. If you lose, the game glitches the fuck out and crashes before the fight begins again.
The jittering of the megalo strike back bass soundbits reminds me of practically any alien fight theme in older games. Gaster is to any and all extents an alien entity to us now, so it makes sense. The first half feels nearly perfect for an Earthbound/Undertale inspired piece.

I'm not sure if I've said this in the comments before but this is a way better theme for Gaster than Dark, Darker, Yet Darker. A lot more energizing, sporadic, and foreboding; the whispers of the Amalgamates panning back and forth definitely helps give it that eerie, foreboding mood; plus adding Bonetrousle and Snowy at the end is a nice touch. Also how can you say no to the visuals ^-^

this song goes really well with how i think a gaster fight would be. a genocide route battle. you find him in the true lab when you try and find alphys to hunt her down. its just one long attack. you dont kill him. he escapes. this song isnt loopable like the rest of the ost. thats what makes this special.

I personally think if there was a Gaster battle, certain requirements would need to be met. You’d have to see him in his hidden room, first of all, and second, you would have to complete Genocide at most 10 times, something you can do to tell you’ve got it is if your character states something odd is in the wind, or that the characters have seam lines around their eyes, or perhaps Chara saying something isn’t right. After completing Genocide in that run, Chara would appear, looking terrified and haunted. She wouldn’t speak down to you as normal, but warn you because something is off for her. The air is cold. The screen fades to black, ENTRY 17 appears on screen as stated in the game. A sprite of Gaster would appear, and erase Chara from the game. Your health bar goes missing, and you begin the fight with Gaster. If you lose, the game glitches the fuck out and crashes before the fight begins again.

The jittering of the megalo strike back bass soundbits reminds me of practically any alien fight theme in older games. Gaster is to any and all extents an alien entity to us now, so it makes sense. The first half feels nearly perfect for an Earthbound/Undertale inspired piece.

I'm not sure if I've said this in the comments before but this is a way better theme for Gaster than Dark, Darker, Yet Darker. A lot more energizing, sporadic, and foreboding; the whispers of the Amalgamates panning back and forth definitely helps give it that eerie, foreboding mood; plus adding Bonetrousle and Snowy at the end is a nice touch. Also how can you say no to the visuals ^-^
