+Xord I have to completely agree... this line is just, completely out of place in such a good game... Why would anyone say something this stupid? It's NOT rude to talk about someone who is listening, it is rude to talk behind people's backs! AND also the thing you said, it is rude to listen, when the people talking don't know you are there... The character is basically saying the COMPLETE OPPOSITE of the truth, just to say "Gaster is listening"... WHY???
Yeah and the “Haha…how can I say without a fear? Am holding a piece of him right here.” , the “am holding a piece of him right here” gave me goosebumps.
@@900nutboys It does make me wonder if Gaster is going to be one of the most satisfying payoffs in history if we see him in Deltarune - or Toby will pull a Toby and keep Gaster the mysterious creepypasta that he is.

***** she did and it truly is kind of creepy. The only beings that are able to change shape in Hotland are... maybe Gaster's followers. These guys are pretty deformed, so I wouldn't question their possible ability to transform
Gaster is literally the creepiest thing out of Undertale to me. Forget Chara or even Flowey or Sans or anyone really. Just listening to his theme makes me want to curl up in a ball and hide.
Imagine if undertale would be realeased in the early 2000's and finding some of this shit by accident. No internet and no hacks, just you and some Creepypasta material
Hey has anybody thought that maybe he made a dark fountain? The “photon readings negative” implies heavy unimaginable darkness combined with dark darker yet darker. Maybe in both undertale and deltarune he created the dark fountains, but was unsuccessful in undertale’s timeline
What if the core is powered by a Dark Fountain and the whole Undertale adventure happens in a Dark World different from the ones opened by "the knight" ergo without the RPG elements?
LONG WINDED THEORY TIME. Well, when you try to use your Cell Phone (The only item that remains unchanged by going between worlds) in the dark world, you get what the game calls "garbage noises", which is the same noise you hear when the wingdings pop up. At the same time, Spamton says that he was receiving calls from someone that called themselves "Mike" which might have been an alias for Gaster to go by. One day, Spamton stopped recieving calls, and fell from his spot at the top. One of the butlers in the Queens castle after defeating Spamton NEO on a normal/pacifist route tells you about it, and that he left the phone line open, and a voice could be heard. When the butler went to put the phone to their ear though, all they heard were *garbage noises.* Gaster might have been using Spamton, making him successful and in turn getting money to fund his research, before an accident (or something he intentionally did) to break himself across space and time.
@@BlaxeFrost-X also, everytime you jump into a Dark World there's that cutscene and it looks like you jump through a barrier, like the one that sealed the monsters in Undertale
oh fuck what if in the undertale timeline the whole underground n barrier shit was just a massive dark fountain that they trapped the monsters in?? would explain the need for a human soul to get across the barrier or whatever, because it's what seals the fountain? man i dont fucking know i havent played undertale in like 6 years
@@AoBaiGaming I dont think it was a butler, but one of the shop keepers that picked up the phone, he says he went to see spamton after he was getting kicked out of queens palace and that happens
In the Undertale kickstarter, if they exceeded the $45,000 goal (and they did), a comic plus another game would be in the works. Toby already said he is working on the script. He also said: "The "other" game... I can't tell you anything about it. *Its very nature is shrouded in darkness.* Ha ha ha."
+Henhouse You know, a whole lot of people have been saying they don't know how he could make a sequel to Undertale, and I'm still not sure if it even SHOULD have a sequel, but god damn is this something BEGGING for an explanation that would fit perfectly into some kind of sequel.
+ButtonMasher It would be awesome to play as Yellow human with his gun or the faboolust blue human and his tutu. The previous humans seem very interesting.
Funny thing: The guy at the beginning speaks entirely in rhymes. I don’t think anyone has ever pointed that out, and it could be so obvious everyone knows, but just to be safe.
@@pancakes8670 considering thar the egg is an imaginary figment brought to the real world that does not alter like other items , its possible that this is his way of manifesting into kris is reality
+Bane's Super Brutal Metal Funtime Or he's referring to Sans and Papyrus since his name W.D. Gaster could be a reference to fonts. Wingdings Gaster or Wingding Aster
***** .... Do you think there is much of a difference? True Pacifist Frisk wouldn't reset. Chara would... In fact you keep Chara's name as long as you are playing, but the characters call you Frisk after True Ending...
+dragoniceful that isn't possible since chara came before frisk. they were extremely similar,yes...but chara fell when toriel and Asgore were still together. when you start playing as frisk, toriel lives in the ruins and asriel is dead so Asgore rules alone...so the fact that chara,a cold-blooded psychopathic murderer would actually spare someone and actually take part in a test with someone who's they're exact opposite doesn't really make sense.
When you call the cell phone at the start of the game in the 'darkness' you hear the Gastor robotic electronic text speech that pops up in this video! You also hear the motif of his theme in some of the songs and next to the door that looks like the exit door for the underground in the town, you can hear one of the noises he makes slowed down.
Well yeah! I mean, who else could Gaster be referring to??? Even the Snowdin bunny (who sells snowbuns) claims that the townsfolk haven't seen Papyrus and Sans until they "suddenly appeared"... I want to know more! ;3;
I love how Gaster Follower #2 kind of predicts what happens to Alphys. He wonders if Alphys' life will come to an end because of something she created, just like Gaster. In some Neutral endings, this is exactly what happens in a sense. (It is heavily implied she commits suicide in some of these endings because of the guilt of hiding the Amalgates she created and not being able to tell the truth.)
It's strange though... all of these followers were also normal monster designs in Undertale. The funny muffet donut guy, the funny dew-drinking gingerbread man... All except #3, who didn’t appear in any normal form in Undertale, yet appears in DELTARUNE, as a colourful, normal-looking monster. In chapter 1, he’s strangely preventing Kris, and in turn the player, access to the librarby's upstairs room that contains books about the SOUL and possibly other key Undertale information not usually shared in DELTARUNE.
@@Marcelelias11 perhaps every follower can alternate between GONER form and normal form? That would definitely be an interesting plot device if ever implemented into Deltarune. In fact, it kind of already has, as when Spamton (who has interacted with Gaster, like Jevil and the Followers have) transfers his SOUL into the Mettaton NEO disc drive, his entire shop turns greyscale, and he simply vanishes, with no special effects or particles, in a similar manner to the followers.
I can't help but think, the sound when he talks... what if it's the sound of him dying, looping again and again like he's stuck in his death, and the machine-like whirring sound in the background is the sound of his creation that killed him...? It always comes to my mind when I hear this audio. In deltarune the same sound is can be heard when you try to call home from the dark world, and it's described as "garbage noise". I get chills when I think about it, his final words and the sound of his death is described as some "garbage noise"... Just a theory though, my headcanon as I love how creepy and ominous it is.
"it's rude to talk about someone who's listening" they said... he was scattered across time and space supposedly, but not dead... maybe, much like sans, Gaster can jump through dimensions/worldlines/timelines now
Aster is not only a font, it's also a flower. It looks suspiciously like an asterisk, doesn't it? "It's rude to talk about someone who's listening." Gaster was shattered across time and space and is omnipresent. See what I'm hinting at here? Every single line of dialogue in this game is preceded by an asterisk. The asterisks are a representation of Gaster listening in to everything the characters say. O_O
Holy shit I wasn't prepared for that I just had a brain cramp I came back into the land of the living and hdjsj that's fricking crazy Edit: I put an *'s in front of that because I forgot XD
I wonder if it's possible to put Gaster back together somehow. Wouldn't it be awesome if collecting his different pieces across "time and space" (aka the game's code) and putting them in the right order opened up a whole new part of the game?
Something a lot of people tend to forget is something Asriel says during his battle "Every time you die I can feel them forgetting about you." Perhaps Gaster died so many times over memory of him was erased?
I think Goner kid gives a bit of insight saying how he feels like he lives in a world we’re no one remembers him. I feel like he gives us the best perspective out of all the followers, on his and Gasters state of being, or at least is one of the best. Like how he says he doesn’t exist/ no one sees that he does or remembers his existence. If Gaster was shattered across all of space and time, he might be in the same situation, only able to come into a psychical form in fragments, or in small points in time. Across timelines, but these are rare events which would explain why it’s hard to find him in any run of undertale. But with more gaster connections in deltarune, I feel like some answers might be revealed. Who knows? Maybe Gaster was sent to a parallel universe and he’s setting up shop in the bunker in the south part of the town and he’s trying to find a way back? Just my theory. Would love to talk about this more.
I came across goner kid in my first playthrough of undertale when I bought the game on my PC. I was unable to finish it because the controls were impossible to use, but I bought the game on my Xbox when it came out and never saw them again. Honestly, I felt quite a connection to them. It was very sad to read their dialogue. Knowing I couldn't do anything. I gave them an umbrella and it gave me some sort of closure, I guess. But its still incredibly sad. I can't imagine what that must feel like.
The ferry man doesnt just day "beware the man who speaks in hands" he also says "beware the man from an other world" we also know sans door shows up in deltarune, and he clearly knows you aswell. Considering he has gasters blueprints. And gaster is showing up more and more in deltarune, its kinda obvious that he made another world and felll into it. Being shattered across both of them, but havinf somw control over one. Likw how we can manipulate noelle, he can manipulate jevil and spamton
"After all, it's rude to talk about someone who is listening," Nuh uh, nope I'm out bye, probably won't see you later, 'cos I'll be RUNNING FOR MY FUCKIN' LIFE!!!
Gaster follower 1: "One day, he vanished without a trace." Flowey's twisted Intro: "A long time ago, the world was ruled by MONSTERS and HUMANS. *One day, they all disappeared without a trace."* Something about time and space, resetting, determination, only Flowey and Frisk can do these things in the game, no one else to our knowledge. Gaster, I think, somehow still has an affect over the timelines.
Sylphynford GT Actually, Frisk did not know originally, he does now because it was Chara's altered SOUL that gave them save/load/reset. So, Gaster discovered it, showed his discoveries to Sans and Asgore, teaching them both Game Data Manipulation. Sans really took off with it, Asgore learned the basics and could do a little GDM, mainly the Mercy Button breaking. But also, he taught Asriel and Chara after they died, then wiped their memory of the moment. This way, Frisk AND Chara could save/load/reset while Chara could so some advanced level GDM while Asriel, now as Flowey, can do GDM and save/load/reset as well. We do know that save/load/reset is only something that can be done with high concentrations of DT, specifically that you must have the most DT out of everyone else or you are powerless.
+IamCaptainMan Some theories brings that W.D Gaster splits into both Sans and Papyrus during the "failure" of his work. And Frisk have Determination going, so he can save/load/reset and somehow Sans knows "Save" and calling it "Teleportation/Manipulating Time"
Sylphynford GT Well, it's interesting because Sans is fully aware that he's talking and working with a player, a 3rd party. The teleporting, the karma, the gaster blasters, all of these things are versions of GDM. Frisk has an unusual level of DT, so unusual, it's impossible. Out of seven humans, why would only one have the ability to prevent their own death. He's definitely connected to Sans and Papyrus, either because he is related to them and worked with Sans as an aid, or that Gaster actually created them artificially using his own DNA and gave them monster SOULs. Either way, Sans discovered GDM by trying to reconnect to his original timeline, as he and Papyrus were displaced when Gaster vanished into the game's files.
Well let's see, Sans and Papyrus both have their names based off fonts, supposedly like W.D Gaster. We know that they just "Showed up one day", and the translated entry has the words "What do you two think"? Im assuming the two are Papyrus and Sans. One of Sans weapons he uses against you is called the "Gasterblaster", probably made gy W.D Gaster. Not to mention Sans has that weird workshop room with the weird blueprints and the machine. I'm fairly certain Gaster, Sans, and Papyrus have something in common... They all have vowels in their name!
+Loi Nguyen There has been one thing that's been bothering me lately. Namely, how Sans and Papyrus call themselves brothers. Yet, their physiology suggests no (functional) reproductive organs, therefore they can't possibly be related. At least, not in _NORMAL_ terms...
while Gaster may be intriguing and all that, personally i'm more curious about his followers. Gaster's predicament is fairly self-explanatory, but i'm interested to know the motivations of his followers and how they came to know of him more than anything.
1:03 This line is very interesting, as at the end of most neutral endings, alphys is missing, many assume she may have killed herself, but this line could say otherwise…
I discovered a secret ... interesting. At the end of the pacifist road, in the laboratory of Alphys, in the trash, there is this: * (There's a message crumpled up in the trash can.) * (It's in a strange kind of handwriting.) * (It says ...) * (I KNOW WHAT YOU DID.) I do not know what it is, but I think he is talking about the genocide road that I stopped. But I'm sure it's Gaster with his handwritining.
Atuel Cher Tkoff Actually that note is still there even if you play the game for the first time and do the Pacifist Run. I'm pretty sure the note was either Flowey telling Alphys about him knowing she was the one who made him come back as a flower or maybe it was someone else telling her that they know she turned the monsters in her lab into amalgams.
On my first playthrough, I don't remember if I got Gaster follower 1 or 2. Maybe I got both at some point. I never get any other meetings no matter how many times I play the game now. I understand the requirements to get these meetings now, but when you first play through the game blind then do more research into the game and figure out these things are extremely rare to come by, it feels creepy yet also special.
It really was well made, lately games have the mindset of "everything should be available to the player" but games like undertale understand the value of uniqueness
Seeing how he communicates in Wingdings (which conveniently enough is ALSO a typing font) then he definitely has some sort of connection to Papyrus and Sans.
@@elliot_rat *But they're clearly connected, I mean Sans literally seems to use warp doors from Deltarune if his bedroom door is any indication. *... Oh and the fact that it appears to be the same Sans-
@@prinxen1733 I believe Toby has gone out of his way to say that Deltarune and Undertale’s respective universes are not connected, and while of course , this could just be another dog flavored red herring, I prefer to see it as the truth, or at least a half-truth. Besides, Undertale and Deltarune go by very similar rules, and events in Deltarune seem to mimic events in Undertale (for example: on the now scrapped Undertale clock app, some of Asgores text refers to a friend of his named Rudy, and how he fell down [the monster version of being terminally ill] this directly mirrors the events of Deltarune given that Rudy’s in a hospital and Asgore and him are said to have a storied history. Another good example would be the Clam Girl Gaster Follower telling you that “You’ll be meeting ‘Suzy’ very soon” on the Switch version of Undertale, obviously alluding to You meeting Susie in Deltarune.) if monsters are still made of Magic, Fall Down, and turn to Dust when dead, then it’s entirely possible that the ability to create Dark Fountains with sufficient Determination carries over from DR to UT, this ability to perform magical feats via Determination could also explain the magic Humanity used to banish monsters to the Underground. I do still believe that Gaster is the main bad, just that it’s Deltarune’s Gaster. Given his “one of a kind intelligence” it’s entirely plausible that he did some other type of wacky bullshit and managed to accidentally (or purposefully) split himself betwixt the Light and Dark Worlds or something, effectively turning him into no more than an observer, like in Undertale, but with an added twist. (given his presence at the beginning character creation screen, it seems like he’s not fully barred from influencing the world of Deltarune, just that he can’t do what he wants done himself for whatever reason.)
@@It-Will-All-Be-Okay-I-Promise *I didn't mean straight up fully connected- I only meant that things in one world appear to influence the other so there's no reason to shut down people who base theories off that. *Edit: And also that I'm fully convinced that Sans is the same one from Undertale, hell- in Undertale he laments "not being able to go back" and he's not talking about the surface, so it's likely he's talking about other worlds. Also, his sprite is like the only one that hasn't been updated
Gaster's story is pretty sad. He looks like he could be the third skeleton brother. I bet he only appears briefly in that room because it's hard for him to hold himself together. He smiles because he very rarely gets to encounter another person.
@asper Unless something in Deltarune Chapter 2 disproves it (don't tell me if so, I haven't gotten far yet), there's a strong case for Mysteryman to be Gaster.
@@leedlelel2373 it is in the game, it plays dark darker yet darker when you leave the room(sound test room), speaks in wingdings and has the same voice as the followers. both he and the mistery man are the sprites that are theorized that can be gaster, mistery man being the more famous one because room 272 isn't acessible without getting into the game's code

Me and my girlfriend did a run of undertale recently. It was her first time playing through the game (she did true pacifist) and We got the right fun value to get gaster follower 1 to appear and i freaked out when I saw it!
The sounds at 2:28 made from Gaster speaking wingdings is exactly the same as the sound in Deltarune when you choose to use your phone and call home while being in the dark world :o Edit: Well, almost
Fun fact the audio by the red door sped up by 666% is the same gaster sound in deltarune.......and 66 is the fun value to find gaster and all his hidden battle stats in the game is just 6 over and over so 6 seens to be associated with him for some reason
We're not sure if its Alphys,Sans,Papyrus,Flowey because no one has solved the "biggest mystery" yet or Toby only knows that who's the "two" (sorry for bad english lol.)
I HAVE THEORY! Ok, so the Snowdin phonecall, which almost definitely was someone asking for Gaster, seems a bit weird when you consider that Gaster is "scattered across time and space". And unless we follow Night Vale logic, I don't think places outside of space-time have phone reception. But the thing is that we assumed that the Gaster the person is calling is W. D. Gaster. But here's the thing. Wing Dings, being a font name, and the mystery man(most likely Gaster) ressembling a skeleton plus other things points to him being related to Sans and Papyrus. It doesn't matter if he's the dad or a lost brother, but they are related. And since his name is W. D. Gaster, we can see that Gaster is his last name. And since they are related, they should share the same last name. So what if the person calling isn't looking for Wing Dings Gaster, but for Comic Sans Gaster or Papyrus Gaster?
The "what do you two think" really make me think of Sans and Papyrus. I like the headcanons that Gastor made them in a lab but grew attached to them. And somehow, wiped their memories and sent them to Snowdin to live comfortably and safely. Maybe that's why one of the monsters in Snowdin says "these two skeletons just showed up one day". A fun theory to think about. Maybe the bones that are Sans and Papyrus we're previous children's bones.
I think its more likely sans and papyrus are his sons but he died and only sans remembers him because of the photo and sans is also weird when it comes to timeline stuff
The question here isn't WHO or WHAT Gaster is, the question is WHY is Gaster in the game? Most of the things pertaining to Gaster are mainly things that are just junk code purposely hidden. For example, the only way to find his door is to hack into the fun values. And yet, people still hint at his existence like with the river person. He has no connection to the plot, either. Toby could have very easily just gotten rid of any and all code and mention of Gaster. Why was he left in the game? And if he was broken "though space and time," would that make him dimensionally and temporally aware like Flowey? If so, why doesn't he confront the player like Flowey?
+Amanda Miller From a more OOC perspective, he's in the game because he is what a missingno-style thing would be like from the perspective of the residents of the game's world, with a bit of creepypasta mixed in there to appeal to a broader audience
+Amanda Miller It could be that each greyed out character is a shard of Gaster. The dialogue from the greyed out monster kid talks about how scary it would be to see a version of the world where you never existed carry on normally like it never needed you. Gaster seems to have mostly erased himself either on purpose or as a mistake. Seems like you're hanging out with were probably his friends and colleagues. I think Gaster doesn't have capital D Determination, and so he can't manipulate the timeline. Even if he could, it seems the player's ability overpowers anyone else's. I think Gaster just exists everywhere all the time. A disembodied consciousness that maybe sometimes manifests as the greyed out shards that both are him and are not him. A theme of the game is not letting curiosity bring you to a dark place. Maybe Gaster knew that the machine would shard him across time and space and make him omnipresent, able to see everything and think about everything all at once, at the cost of only existing in a very loose sense of the word. I'm mostly speaking nonsense guesses, of course. It's a mystery! It's fun to think about.
+Amanda Miller It's part of the whole meta thing with Undertale. Gaster is a dummied out character with code fragments left in, but not accessible through normal means.
Gaster is definitely related to Sans and Papyrus, either as their dad or eldest brother. The two people he's talking to in his message seem to be Sans and Alphys since Papyrus was raised by Sans as a baby. Sans was clearly some sort of scientist working with Gaster to figure out how timelines work because he says WE'VE been recording time abnormalities when battling him and he has quantum physics books in his toolshed and room. Alphys had to be working with him to figure out how to break the barrier since she took over working on determination after Gaster's accident. My guess is since it's been assumed Gaster was also working on the Amalgamates (Or something similar since he built the DT extractor) before Alphys. Sans and Papyrus went into hiding after the accident to lay low in case word got out what Gaster was doing, since monsters seem to live forever or some just have massive lifespans eventually everyone forgot about Gaster or just didn't care enough since the Royal Scientist main job seemed to be keeping the core running and thats all they care about. That's when Sans and Papyrus reappeared, in the town farthest away from the Core. Sans is terrified of Papyrus and him being connected back to Gaster and possibly killed because of it and that's why he's so protective of him, Papyrus was just a baby when this all went down so he's all Sans has left and is 100% innocent in all this. As for Gaster, he now lives in a state of Quantum Uncertainty, he is everywhere and nowhere at once but he can't fully control it, his followers are just either people he's able to contact (who seem to have gone mad because of it) or bits of himself he can materialize (Gaster follower 2 which in this video is #1 and the laughing skeleton).
@asper Oh yeah no I doubt that's Alphys. I can't say for certain, but the descriptions just says "there is a poorly drawn picture of three people smiling on the back." Alphys isn't mentioned at all and there's no implication that she worked with Dr. Gaster, so 🤷🏽♂️
@asper Sure, but there's probably a reason that, out of the little exposition Toby gave us about Gaster, it's emphasized that Asgore took "so long" to hire a new royal scientist after Gaster disappeared (nearly all of the followers tell us this). Alphys had to have been very young, if born at all, around the time Gaster worked for Asgore
I don’t know what’s Scarier about Gaster. The man himself, of his followers In Undertale the goners are basically brainwashed by his legend. It’s all very cryptic and alludes to a deep level of control and manipulation. Whereas with Deltarune he doesn’t have a cult, instead he’s choosing Darkeners to indoctrinate and show them that choices can matter in this world (Spamton and Jevil). It’s the same character, but in one fragment of his time scatter he controls fate and limits people into fallen beings without choice, and in another he’s actively fighting against the prophesied fate
So since he was shattered there’s probably a good Gaster and an evil one. That’s probably why the goners exist, evil one’s doing. Deeper still, they might just be a result of his memories being made manifesst
Ok so hear me out I bet with the next chapter of deltarune we're gonna see more of gaster. The lines about "more and more darkness" and negative photon readings makes me think that eventually kris and suzie wont be able to handle the fountains for too much longer. Theyll probably meet gaster hence the question "what do you two think?"
and last experiment.... is probably that veiled object at San's back, the one that ripped him from reality into nothingness... that's brutal. so wait, who's the player- WAIT
"They say he shattered across time and space" Into the shadow stones in deltarune.... These stones then went on to corrupt the people that interacted with gaster in anyway, Jevil and Spamton, and as deltarune releases we will see more and more people corrupted
0:32 I just encountered that one and he was the first gaster follower I have encountered at all, I was shocked to find a gaster follower considering how rare even one having one chance of appearing per gameplay
2:26 there's actually another entry number 17 which is unused. It says: * monsters' physical forms can't handle "determination" like humans' can. * with too much determination, our bodies begin to break down. * everyone's melted together..
Tbh, I don't understand why people see Gaster as evil or scary or insane. He was a powerful scientist who helped the monsters, but he didn't do anything malicious as far as we know. He might be some mysterious creator of worlds(deltarune?) or a barely-existant blob but there is no proof of him being "evil" only thing "evil" that i can think of is Gaster trying to return to life by somehow creating or manipulating deltarune and trying to... Collect himself?

When the butler went to put the phone to their ear though, all they heard were *garbage noises.*
Gaster might have been using Spamton, making him successful and in turn getting money to fund his research, before an accident (or something he intentionally did) to break himself across space and time.
@@BlaxeFrost-X also, everytime you jump into a Dark World there's that cutscene and it looks like you jump through a barrier, like the one that sealed the monsters in Undertale

@@AoBaiGaming I dont think it was a butler, but one of the shop keepers that picked up the phone, he says he went to see spamton after he was getting kicked out of queens palace and that happens

In some Neutral endings, this is exactly what happens in a sense. (It is heavily implied she commits suicide in some of these endings because of the guilt of hiding the Amalgates she created and not being able to tell the truth.)

@@CaptainCoolzCT- Clam Girl can alternate between her normal and goner form, maybe bird guy can do that too?
@@Marcelelias11 perhaps every follower can alternate between GONER form and normal form? That would definitely be an interesting plot device if ever implemented into Deltarune. In deltarune the same sound is can be heard when you try to call home from the dark world, and it's described as "garbage noise". I get chills when I think about it, his final words and the sound of his death is described as some "garbage noise"...
Just a theory though, my headcanon as I love how creepy and ominous it is.

Perhaps Gaster died so many times over memory of him was erased?
***** Who're you?
***** What? I didn't get that. You're breaking up with the static!
I love how these weird NPCs give us an actual story for Gaster.
Gaster follower 1: "One day, he vanished without a trace."
Flowey's twisted Intro: "A long time ago, the world was ruled by MONSTERS and HUMANS. *One day, they all disappeared without a trace."*
Something about time and space, resetting, determination, only Flowey and Frisk can do these things in the game, no one else to our knowledge. Gaster, I think, somehow still has an affect over the timelines.
Flowey, Frisk, and Sans.
And Frisk have Determination going, so he can save/load/reset and somehow Sans knows "Save" and calling it "Teleportation/Manipulating Time"
+Sylphynford GT And I think Papyrus can do "Save" too ofcourse

1:03 This line is very interesting, as at the end of most neutral endings, alphys is missing, many assume she may have killed herself, but this line could say otherwise…

@@falconeshield Or more likely, Gaster is the one manipulating Kris via the Soul(aka The Player, aka Us).
i have a teory, and is just the name, what if the barrer IS a dark fountain?
That’s why gaster looks melted, he needed determination
@@AstralMuffin105 waiiiiiiit. So maybe Gaster is a manifestation of US. The player
the "what do you two think" phrase at the the end is maybe referring to sans and papyrus as "you two"
That would make sense
I think it's Sans and Alphys, since they did science too
I think he is referring to flowey and sans... they are both conscious about the resets and changes.
We're not sure if its Alphys,Sans,Papyrus,Flowey because no one has solved the "biggest mystery" yet or Toby only knows that who's the "two" (sorry for bad english lol.)
Probably much too late, but it could refer to Susie and Kris when they fall into the dark world.
Gaster followers: *being cryptic and talking about death and existentialism*
Frisk: thanks I'm like 8.
_DUDE_
BRO
*M8*
I pissed my pants, amazing theory
WOAH YAS
1:23 when you realize that he doesn't have a wide creepy smile after Deltarune came out
the addisons tells a story in a similar way to the gaster followers. could the theory about gaster calling spamton be correct..?
Probably, I think the garbage noise thing is all we need for evidence
@@Bendytheboi yet we still have a lot more of connections!! (check my answer to KDrop's comment a bit further up in the "newest first" comments)
"After all, it's rude to talk about someone who's listening."
Hasta la próximaaaaa.
2:08 yeah that's me when people try to talk to me
The question here isn't WHO or WHAT Gaster is, the question is WHY is Gaster in the game? Most of the things pertaining to Gaster are mainly things that are just junk code purposely hidden. For example, the only way to find his door is to hack into the fun values. And yet, people still hint at his existence like with the river person. He has no connection to the plot, either. Toby could have very easily just gotten rid of any and all code and mention of Gaster. Why was he left in the game? And if he was broken "though space and time," would that make him dimensionally and temporally aware like Flowey? If so, why doesn't he confront the player like Flowey?
+Erebus Black That was the most detailed and plausible explanation/theory I've heard about W.D. Gaster so far, Hats off to you.
+Amanda Miller From a more OOC perspective, he's in the game because he is what a missingno-style thing would be like from the perspective of the residents of the game's world, with a bit of creepypasta mixed in there to appeal to a broader audience
+Erebus Black mindfuck
“Look, I gave up trying to go back a long time ago” - Sans
Alphys couldn't have been working with Dr. Gaster, one of the followers said it took so long for Asgore to hire a new royal scientist
@asper Picture? The one with the three people smiling?
@asper Oh yeah no I doubt that's Alphys. I can't say for certain, but the descriptions just says "there is a poorly drawn picture of three people smiling on the back." Alphys isn't mentioned at all and there's no implication that she worked with Dr. Gaster, so 🤷🏽♂️
@asper There's nothing to suggest that Alphys and Gaster worked together tho
@asper Sure, but there's probably a reason that, out of the little exposition Toby gave us about Gaster, it's emphasized that Asgore took "so long" to hire a new royal scientist after Gaster disappeared (nearly all of the followers tell us this). Alphys had to have been very young, if born at all, around the time Gaster worked for Asgore

Wing Ding and Aster are both fonts. The fonts used for WingDings 2 are a series of hands. "Speaks in hands"
Gaster follower #3 is in Deltarune's library. The bird guy who loves reading books
Specially the ones on the second floor

I don’t know what’s Scarier about Gaster. The man himself, of his followers
In Undertale the goners are basically brainwashed by his legend.
Woah...
So since he was shattered there’s probably a good Gaster and an evil one.
That’s probably why the goners exist, evil one’s doing. Deeper still, they might just be a result of his memories being made manifesst
“I’m Wing Gaster, the royal scientist!” - Wing Gaster, the royal scientist

Ok so hear me out I bet with the next chapter of deltarune we're gonna see more of gaster. The lines about "more and more darkness" and negative photon readings makes me think that eventually kris and suzie wont be able to handle the fountains for too much longer. Theyll probably meet gaster hence the question "what do you two think?"
and last experiment.... is probably that veiled object at San's back, the one that ripped him from reality into nothingness... that's brutal.
so wait, who's the player-

These stones then went on to corrupt the people that interacted with gaster in anyway, Jevil and Spamton, and as deltarune releases we will see more and more people corrupted

Gaster gives me "old fart who's done things but ultimately just wants to hang out in the void at the end of the day" vibes and I respect that
2:26 there's actually another entry number 17 which is unused. It says:

Tbh, I don't understand why people see Gaster as evil or scary or insane.
He was a powerful scientist who helped the monsters, but he didn't do anything malicious as far as we know. He might be some mysterious creator of worlds(deltarune?) or a barely-existant blob but there is no proof of him being "evil" only thing "evil" that i can think of is Gaster trying to return to life by somehow creating or manipulating deltarune and trying to... Collect himself?
