This specie was recently renamed as Panulirus meripurpuratus, insted Panulirus argus. We have a lot in Brazil.

Yes, sure. This kind of lobster occours since Rio de Janeiro until extreme north of Brazil. I live in Espirito Santo state and we have a lot of them.
