    On the Bmw CP3 R70 pump Cascade German states the auxiliary pump must be left on it also doesn't have a wiring connector change needed. Is this model from Xman different?

    To avoid pulling the studs you should be using 15-18 lbft of torque. That shouldn't pull the studs out, they're threaded into plate and then tack welded in.

    Matt Whitbread’s kit pump with the reman pump runs fine without a tune. The metering valve is a genuine Bosch ending in part number 400643 and is the only one of like 6 they make that will work without tuning the car. I’ve got 500 miles on my setup so far. 45mpgs average with a personal best close to 50 on highway. I’d say it’s about 2-3mpg bump.

    Stevenson tuning........hmmmm...... I don't have good feelings about Stevenson anymore. He is up there on the reservation thinking he can do whatever he wants. And he thinks he is far enough away from anyone to ever have to deal with or see a customer in person when he does not deliver for them.
    I came to him as a customer with a 2011 MK6 Jetta looking to do a delete for fuel economy and obviously DPF delete.
    He wrote a tune and I passed my state inspection but fuel economy is equal to but certainly not better than stock.
    To keep a long story short here, the very first few tunes he wrote me was giving me over 50 miles to the gallon City, high 50s Highway. That Tune however was giving me an overboost code, it took over 9 months and multiple versions of the tune for him to finally give up on improving fuel economy.
    Then instead of Stevens him himself like a man, sent one of his dingbat underlings to tell me that I was getting poor fuel economy because it was cold (winter). Really then why do we have a cold air intake on our TDIs?
    (Sure Sub-Zero temperatures are no good (but here in the Mid-Atlantic states in December at that time it wasn't colder than 40°))
    If cold air is really that bad wouldn't we have a warm air intake instead of a cold air intake?
    And another thing that dingbat underling tried telling me was that I never got over 50 miles to the gallon, he said that's impossible..
    I sent him pictures and screenshots of receipts showing that I have empirical data proving I got well over 50 MPG and that shows me filling up just north of Baltimore and then not filling up again until south of Atlanta Stevenson tuning called me a liar.
    So choose Stevenson tuning only if you're okay with just getting by and not expecting him to go the extra mile and figure out problems if you have any.
    Basically if he does a tune for you he's only going to give you the bare minimum and give up instead of taking the time to get it dialed in and figured out.

    @Mike Fn Garage by any chance do you know the sizes of high pressure fuel line threaded adapter, inner and outer? Let say one has to replace CP3 with another CP3 for various reasons where can i get just that "slip"? I dont want to change the whole high pressure fiting of the old pump to the new one. To this point I dont know how recuperate that little adapter thread. Any suggestions is more than welcomed, and thank you in advance for your time and your help! Required for the change over. at higher rpm it will overpressure with the 3 pumps. CP3 puts out more volume at higher RPM lower RPM a little less from what I know. I had it hooked up and got fuel pressure over limit codes.

Here is what happens: metal shavings go from the HPFP to the injectors, plug them up then through the return line into the gas tank. They stick to the magnets in the fuel pump #1 and #2 making them no good, then into the fuel filter......Gas tank needs to be removed and cleaned really good Fuel rail replaced. www.cascadegerman.com/product/high-pressure-fuel-pump-hpfp-kit-cbea-cjaa/

    I was wanting a CP3 myself but after watching all this work I’m overwhelmed! I’m a DIY’r but this is more advanced then my skills I believe. Also I just did the timing belt on my 11 vw Jetta 2.0 TDI cjaa and didn’t cap the fuel lines off and air got to my system. Worried about the hpfp after I tried to turn it over like 15 times and no start. I primed it with xtool but it only primes it in 2 second intervals. Did it about 50 times between trying to start but going to try and use buddies obd11 to do it for the several 30 second intervals. Any suggestions? I love the video and idea I just don’t have the skills like you do!

    • @thomassawtelle7089
      @thomassawtelle7089 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Crack the line loose at injector rail 1 at a time. Start where pump line goes into Common rail. Crank in 1-2 sec intervals only. You will see tiny bubbles and then it will just bleed fuel. Once just fuel, close that line and move to next injector line and repeat until you get to last one (work left to right as you are facing front of car). This should do the trick. If your doing it right, lines 3 and 4 will be quick to bleed out the air.
