- The World Tonight: President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. vowed to defend the country's territory and the rights of Filipino fishermen in the West Philippine Sea.
Marcos gave the commitment as China restricts access to the Scarborough Shoal.

I don’t think it’s only fishing rights but the main one is China taking over the little Philippine Islands we call Islets and turning it to an Island of their own.

The Philippine Coast Guard should conduct regular patrols in the area where Filipino fishermen used to do their fishing for centuries. In the meantime, the Filipino fishermen should get together and coordinate with PCG when they are conducting fishing expeditions in Scarborough Shoal to make sure that they are safe from the harassment from the CCG. And the Philippine Navy should also coordinate with PCG for possible assistance if needed.
