    I can’t get it connected, I’ve gone through the process of trying to get it to sync with my wifi about 20 times and it’ll say wrong password but I’m entering the correct one

      Hello James, I would think there is a problem with the router's wifi or your AP, whichever you use. Why don't you try with another wifi, or at a friends house to rule out trouble with the Blink Module. It is always an option you may have received a defective unit. Also check firmware updates of your Netgear router, or even if the region is correct.

      @@jamesbondbaugh1252 I just figured it out for my problem. Mine was telling me that the password was wrong , and couldn’t connect to my Wi-Fi. But I was setting it up on my IPhone 13 Pro Max , but I do have a iPhone 11 as a backup phone and I decided to download the app on there and try the set up process on my 11 and everything worked then. So idk if it’s just not upgraded and updated to work for setting it up with the IOS that’s on my 13 or not or what. But it did work on my 11

    Hello!
    I bought 2 Blink cameras, one is the Blink outdoor 3rd gen and the other one is the Doorbell camera. Can they both be on the same module 2 device? 😊

      That is exactly the way I have it, it works very good. Always instal a 64 GB USB at least and beware Blink does not automatically overwrite older files. Don't know really why.

    what time does it record when it detects movement without subscription only with the sync module 2?

      Hi Tomas, maximum clip length is set to 30 seconds and it has a retrigger time of 10 seconds... Check Laxihub cams or Reolink. Are much better.

      One huge disadvantage from Blink: It does not support multiple live views to different cameras nor simultaneous concurrent users to one. Important to note that as it is something we've criticized.

    Can you add an additional sync module to your system, I have two cameras that are too far away from the sync module, so they aren’t always available. Can you use two sync modules

      Hello, you can add another sync module, and create another system. The important thing is that if they are on the same system, they just have to have access to the same system's wifi and not physically to one another. In your case what I think you might want to consider is extending your wifi's coverage to those two cameras.

    does it still store the clips on the app on your cell phone where you can see them on your cell phone ?

      Hello Jeff, it either stores the files in the cloud (if you have such service active) or in the blink sync module 2. Both you can check them remotely from the App.

    Hello, my question is if I have sync module 1, if I want to upgraded to Module 2 what do I need to do? The reason I asked, my old system comes with 2 hours of free cloud storage but my concern is if I upgraded to Module 2, am I going to lose the feature 2hrs of cloud storage? Thank you!

      Hello @AJ I think you may loose such benefit as the syncc module 1 is basically for coordinating comunications and storage in the cloud, being that the reason why they offred such 2 hours free. What they'll give you for the Sync Module 2 is one free month and then you have to pay, however remember that the Blynk Sync Module 2 (amzn.to/3NyQLV5) as you saw in this video stores locally so you do not need cloud storage unless for backup or better yet redundancy purposes.

      Do it have a USB? If so you should be able to go on your Blink app on a computer or tablet and download the clips you want to save to one of these devices. After you have them saved if you want them on phone you can send them to your phone.

      Three things to check there. 1 Format the drive directly by the module, 2. Check good level of motion detection, 3. Arm the system

    Few questions. Does the flash drive delete the oldest video on its own once it's full? Is it the same for the sync mod 2?

      That is something very important we mentioned and that still has had no effect on Blink developing such feature. Once you receive the drive almost full notice, you better swap your drive for an empty one as no overwriting is available... yet (august 2023).

      Hello, It is a configurtion left for the Blink Doorbell and which device or blink mini cam you might want to use as a door bell.

    If the home wifi drops does the cameras stop recording to sync module? Or it works via its own independent wifi network?

    Hello I have 5 cameras but only 2 caners are scheduled for backup? Any idea?
    I have 2 groups though.

      I guess that each group should have it's own SM2, as that is the way to assign each camera to record on a device locally.

    I'm having problems installing. I plugged in the synch 2, the blue light is blinking and I have a solid green light. when I hit the discover device and it prompts me to join the wifi network, I hit join then it tells me to make sure the device is powered on and is near by and is powered on. the device is right next to me, blinking blue and solid green. what can i do to trouble shoot this?

      Hello Jaime, we tried to replicate what what you are experiencing but we were not able to experiment the same issue, even with damaged USBs or incompatible networks. I would reset the device and add it again to the system. Make sure your 2.4 GHz wifi band is working too

      I have had the same issue, not connecting to the device, either the mini camera or the Sync module. I have TH-camd every possible scenario to no avail. Even reset my iPhone. It asks me to join the corresponding network for each device but still won't connect or discover the device. I even changed my network to 2.4Ghz Any help appreciated before I return this. Also, the batteries in the first camera died after a few hours. Possible defective unit. It was on sale at Home Depot.

    Do i get/need an App from the app store, like the original app way back or is there someplace else to get Bink program/app from. Will i/can i, should i use my old paid blink account. I now have 3 new outdoor cameras along with sync module 2, and will now store on usb 128GB drive.

      We have always used the same Blink Home Monitor app. It has always worked great.

      The difference is that it synchronizes the upload of files to the cloud but it does not record locally on the USB port as version 2 does.

    My sync mod 2 is connected without a usb. When i look at the list of clips on the app, it says this device is not recording clips because you do not have a storage plan. I thought the sync mod alone would allow me to record clips. Do i need a usb?

      Yes you do need a USB, even 32 GB USBs will let you store many days. That is one of the advantages of the USB sync, you can replace the USB while continues recording in another one.

      Hi, it will not record unless you have a cloud plan active. A combiation of both is a good idea.

    i have question. i pay $10 a month for the blink from amazon. This $10 which i understand is for the storage of your camera recording. what if you already have the blink sync module? is blink sync module stores videos too, right?

      That's right with the Syn Module 2 you do not need the cloud storage, unless you want it for backup purposes.

      @@Queen_Nefertari Is your router close bye if so plug it in one of the ports is how I got mine to connect to the sink module. I also use a USB for my storage.

      I don't think so as the main objective of the Syn MOdule 2 is to sync connections from the cameras to the internet, and have the convenient local storage in case Internet fails.

      Hi, Just like with blink mini, it may be due to the fact that these only connect to 2.4 GHz networks, and it is very common in many routers or APs to have both networks separated. Make sure you are connected to the network that the module is gonna use (2.4 GHz band)

      That is not common. I would reset them and reconfigure them from zero. It shouldn´t take more than two minutes.

      You may be having network problems, or at least your network is not supporting 2.4 GHz wifi.

      No, the module cannot act as a chime. Any echo can act as a notification device.

    Hi, I understand the sync module to needs to be near my router. What if I am only able to get my sync module twenty feet away, closer to one of the cameras. Does the camera get the Wi-Fi signal from the sync module or from my router? If the sync module is far away from my router, will it still record to my thumb drive? My router is far away from my cameras, should I put the sync module in the middle?

      Near the router or AP is ideal. It does not benefit to be close to the cameras. Both connect to the WiFi and not to one another.

      If you made sure the network is in the 2.4 GHz band, which even if you think it is, is better to make sure. If after having it reset still no luck, you should contact customer support. support.blinkforhome.com/en_US/contact-support

      HI, yes you can actually stream to anywhere in the world without Alexa you just need the Blink App. You just need it to have Internet access.

      Disable temporarily the 5Ghz network, so your cellphone where you are setting it up from is also connected to the same network. Even activate bluetooth. It also may be due to restrictions in terms of permissions to the App, if problem persists, uninstall and reinstall the app, and give all permissions.

      You can actually save months of clips on cloud storage. If you don't, and you don't get the module, you won't have any space for storage.

      You can work without it and it will be of great benefit like making batteries of your devices last longer. USB is just for convenient local storage instead of cloud recording.

      It is particularly useful but not necessary, specially if you use several cameras and they are battery operated you'll see a better lasting battery. Also the convenience of local storage.

      The Blink account is free. You will only be charged if you susbscribe to a monthly cloud storage plan. Blink offers you the Blink Sync Module 2 ( amzn.to/3x5WOsw ) which lets you record locally for that matter

    the connecting cord that came with the module does not fit the module. Now what?

      Not worries just use another USB type B cable and plug it. It is a 5 watt wall adapter so most cables will work.

    So my free subscription is over, for my camera. I bought a sync 2, usb memory stick, so far so good, but it won't save anything to the usb on the sync 2. I can't find anything yet, that shows how to set this part up.

      I understand, you may want to try two things: First, make sure system is armed and all cameras belong to that system (go to the syn module 2 and check your cameras are listed there under "local storage". Second, make sure your USB drive was formated from the sync module (I know it works out of the box but it is the only way to make sure it will absolutely work). To do this format it in windows or mac to something different then, have the Sync module 2 aske you if you want to format it. Good luck

    Two things that might help. All cameras have to be added to your module not separate/system. Don't ask how I know this. Lol

    When I try to set up the module I keep getting an error saying my password is incorrect. I am 100% positive that the password I’m using is correct! I’ve tried setting up a new system - same error. The thing is, I’ve used this module and single outdoor camera before - I’m only moving it indoors! The room I’m moving it to also has our Xfinity router/modem. Strength is signal should not be a problem!

      Hi, just to make sure there is no problem with your account password, I would suggest, like I did at one moment, to install the Blink App in another mobile device, very quickly you'll know if the password is the problem. If you are referring to the wifi password, two suggestions, "erase" the wifi network from your phone and reconnect, and if everything OK, make sure your router/Access Point is using the 2.4 GHz band as it is the one Blink devices currently use.

    Mines not been working it keeps saying failed to connect incorrect Pw when its not.. 🤔 🙄 😡🤬

      I would guess is not the password for thew 2.4 GHz password. The most common error is to try to make it connect to the 5 GHz network.

      The current module connects to 2.4 GHz networks. Good question that is something very important to check or preconfigure.

    I bought a USB Flash Drive 1TB and it says it’s not compatible !!

      We've used it with up to 256 GB successfully. I believe that is the limit. (amzn.to/3SZGjtY )

    I wish you had mentioned what the capacity of the flash drive is. We have to select one since it doesn’t come with it. It stands to reason that we would need to know, after all we will want to use the highest capacity, so it must be found in order to do so. And I don’t know why they wouldn’t prefer to use a micro SD card since they are far superior in repetitively recording and reading devices.

      The Sync Module 2 tells you it takes a maximum of 256GBs... A simple Google search could have given you the information needed. This is a tutorial not a spec rundown.

      Check your wifi at 2.4 GHz and see if that is the problem. Power Cycle the access point or router and try again. Is not common to have such problem. And see if you are setting up the device from a 2.4 GHz network.

      Password error may be a whole different problem. Set it to a simple password, connect successfully and then add some complexity to it.

    Took a considerable amount of effort to reconnect my Sync Module 2 to Blink Servers. I bought a new cell phone and Blink did not like that. I had to use both phones to get this Blink thing done. A joke really.

      You are absolutelly right. That should not happen. We keep recommending Arenti/Laxihub cams as an alternative. They do also have a doorbell option.

    I was looking for an outdoor camera to keep an eye on my dogs in the yard when I'm not home. th-cam.com/users/postUgkxOXxsTZ3ptV_Pk0fFl8bNZvVqeoqBQFwe Tried a different one that was absolutely terrible, so I got these instead. They work perfectly! With 3 of these cameras I can see every corner of the yard, and they were very easy to set up. The best part is I only get the footage I want to see, not hours of videos of the bird feeder swaying in the breeze.
