Never thought I would come across a music emporium with a section devoted entirely to Americana legends Son Volt (highlighted as such in a prominent wall heading), but there it was….in the Hoboken store (store no. 8). Now that’s niche! Another engaging, thoroughly entertaining video. Thank you.
Hey Brendon, I give you all the credit for reenergizing my hobby of collecting CDs! Prior to subscribing to your channel several months back, I didn’t have the enthusiasm I now have. So thanks very much!
It was impressive but if I’d have included each find the video would have been too long. Plus it was meant as more of an informative video rather one set in time due to the finds made on that day. But some were shown in the last Scores From The Record Store and some will be shown tomorrow in New Music Finds.
Fantastic great video. Theese types of videos really are awesom being able to share the experience. Being from a smaller town not so many record shops, so this really adds to the music experience to be able to have this shared
Excellent episode shedding light on NJ record stores, that's why I travel down from NH great people & great music as always keep up the great rockin work Brendan!
Hey Brendon pretty cool video. I’m stranded in my apartment at this moment. No car. But great to know there are at least 3 record stores I can hit up once I get a new car. Sound Exchange being a favorite of mine. I actually have a little left on my gift card from there from last October. Anyway hope to see you again soon bud. ✌🏻
Great video! Thanks for uploading this and sharing your record store visits. Only $5 for Pandora's Box? A total bargain! I need to make my way to the US for another holiday to experience this joy.
Sitting here in Australia in awe! Hard to find here, but when I do, I'm in heaven. Love the smell of those places. Love your vids Brendan. We music hoarders are weird aliens 🤪
As a former manager of a corporate record store we only allow to play music from a set list that the corporation said we could…. And this set list was record label driven by the major labels pushing their artists…. It was ok some of months but for the most part My employees and I couldn’t stand it… you got really burnt out on the label pushed music 🎉 😊
Absolute killer video Brendan, I really appreciate the amount of effort that you put into these videos . Can't wait to see the goodies that you scored.
Fantastic my man….. I’m not sure I’ve done 10 in one day but have done an all day run which included shops in Pennsylvania. Of course you know my love for PREX. I’ve been to I think all of what you’ve shown at least once, except for that Hoboken Tunes, however I have been to all of the Tunes in South Jersey. Unfortunately only the one in Voorhees is left. For me, Tunes was always hit or miss. And their prices went from incredible to outrageous and then they shut down some of the stores. I wish I could find 10 record stores here in Florida. I’ve got 3 within driving range and an incredible one 2+ hours away in Orlando. I’m still searching though. May start to search Georgia since I’m not that far away. Great video…. Sending to my buddy, who is still in NJ. Oh….. if you haven’t ever checked out the Rock Expo in Oaks, PA - I recommend it. It’s 11/24 and 11/25 this year. Basically it’s a ton of record stores in one building!
I have my own little record store crawl in the Hudson valley NY. Darkside records in Poughkeepsie then Barnes and Noble in Newburgh (they actually a good selection of classic rock) and then Rock Fantasy in Middletown, which I would recommend for you as it’s a little under an hour from Sound Exchange
Hello, great video! But it breaks my heart to see so many music cassetts! If i'm luky,i find 1dealer in record exchanges and in 1 of 10 record stores that offer music cassetts. Both Germany and Netherlands.I'm not buy on the internet. Thanks for Your great channel and the goood music taste (i think 70% of my collection). Greetings from Germany 🤓 P.S. ZEBRA ist Back !!!🥳
I also buy from Amazon, EBay, and other online retail. Music collecting comes first, the cost second, and where I get it third. But I buy enough that neither are hurting. I like to spread the wealth around. 😂
The most i've been to in one day was 5. Sadly this was back in the 1990's. Since 2009 we've had 2 in my city. Miss those days if i couldn't what i was looking for i had 4 other choices. I always came home with something. RIP to all my Vancouver favorites.... A&B Sound, Sam The Record Man, A&A Records, H.M.V., Virgin Megastore, Scratch Records, Track Records, Odyssey Imports, Collector's RPM, Noise Records, Zulu Records. Now we only have Sunrise Records.
Hi Stephen, I’ve done individual videos on each store that are around 15 minutes each. You can find them under the playlist folder Let’s Go To The Record Store and also Record Store Experience.
I'm very lucky to have 14 record/ cd stores all within walking distance from each other, and 30 minutes away from where I live. I rarely do more than 2 or 3 a day though, as I find it fatiguing (and it can get quite heavy depending on the finds!). Brendon, if you ever come to Brussels, I'll take you on a nice walk around town :-) Cheers.
When I travel, the record stores are the first thing I check out for sure! I made a couple of road trips in the U.S. and European cities based on location of record stores. So fun!@@BrendonSnyder
The finds are appearing in separate videos like Sound Exchange was part of the Scores From The Record Store and then the New Music Finds. But I probably won’t show it all just due to how the videos themes worked out. But don’t worry there is plenty of stuff to post.
Brendan, how many miles did you cover to complete the record store crawl? It seems crazy that there are so many stores in such a small area! I might have to sell my house to finance a trip to New Jersey 😂
The guys at Tunes are cool. Very friendly. I live about a block and half away from there. Yeah Tunes is very convenient if you live in New York City since it's a PATH Train ride away. I recommend it. The used CDS are very cheap. That's what I usually get there.. )^_-)/ I don't have a car since Hoboken is not a city that you need a car in. The other record stores look awesome. Thanks for the tour.. )^_-)/
Sorry for the additional comment Brendon, but noticed Anthony with you on the second to last stop. Did he make the journey with you all day? If so that’s cool.
No. Not all the footage that I took during the crawl worked so I had to dig into my archives for some of it. Like if I forgot to take an entry shot walking through the door or something. Or if there were too many people in the store for a clear shot of the whole store I might have swapped out with archival footage.
@@BrendonSnyder yeah, it's an extremely shady practice. I wouldn't be surprised if they use eBay active listings (not even sold) irrespective of condition.
Perhaps you’ve gone when they have been late opening, closed early or when they have shut on their lunch break. I’ve always found those to be the awkward times even during opening hours. If they open at 10, go bang in the middle at 11 or 11.30 in the morning. Avoid 12-2. And if they close at 5, go at 3 or 4pm. If you are constantly having bad luck with a store seemingly closed, I think you are just picking those bad times near the beginning, at the end, or at lunchtime.
Thanks Brendon for taking the time to show us...Very Cool! I gotta check this out,not being far
Glad you enjoyed it
fantastic Tour Brendon
My kida tour great shops thanks for showing

Same for me.
Never mix a record store crawl with a pub crawl: it can result in some disastrous purchases😂. Great video Brendan
Beer goggles are not good when looking at music…only when listening haha 😂
respect, lot of good stuff
for you we make the 48h day 😁👏👍
I just Love when you look at diffrent albums in the Stores it's so much fun
A little vicarious shopping! 👍
That's a great Saturday!!! Would love to have places like that near me. I'm also a cd person. Would love to see your haul from the day!

Yes we sure are but unique aliens at that!!
It amazes me how many record stores always have the most obscure, weirdest, jazzy styles of music playing in them. Seems like a detriment to sales.
I agree completely and have even made a video where I talk about that issue 😂

Thank you, I appreciate you acknowledging the work that goes into these. 👊
Very few record stores on long Island so I order from collectors choice this video you did was terrific
You should come out and visit us in NJ! You’d be welcome at all these great record stores.
Want I want to see was the epic haul of purchases made in total from this amazing crawl
Once again you outdone yourself Brendon. Great video and keep it up.
Thank you Don!
What a great Trip/Challenge you had😊🙏👍🤘
Don’t think I’ll try and cram that many in again but it was a lot of fun!

Cool stores!
That Crawler album that you pulled out at the end and looked at is in my opinion fantastic. They only made two and possibly a live one.
But did you get the significance of the name…Crawler for a Record Store Crawl! 😂
As you always say, "very cool ".
They do have a great live record. Live at My Father's Place 1977 with studio tracks. Very cool band that definitely came out in the wrong time.
Man, you are one of the person who inspires me to still buy Cds to this day. Cheers from India 👍🏼👍🏼
Awesome! That’s cool to hear! Keep on rockin’ man! 👊
Fun video, many stores had chaos and mess, boxes all over the floor and cds just ran over everywhere.😂😂
Yes that’s the way most stores are. The clean organized store is the anomaly.
yes me too i love record stores its important to buy in stores and keep them alive
I also buy from Amazon, EBay, and other online retail. Music collecting comes first, the cost second, and where I get it third. But I buy enough that neither are hurting. I like to spread the wealth around. 😂
Wow ! It's probably good that i dont live near these places 😂. So much to bring home💿. I get lots in the mail as it is. Great spots!
Great set of shops! Why do you call this a Crawl? I didn't see you on all fours. Am I missing something?
I'm so jealous Brendon.I have to drive 2 1/2 hrs to my favorite record store. The only other one I have is an hour drive.
Come for a visit so you can hit all 10 of them here!
Cool! video Brendon. I would suggest while at Tunes. Take a ride over to Jersey City and check out Iris Records.

I thought you’d like it! 👍
When do you have time to listen to all this music????? Great collection of music.
All the time that’s when
Good to hear 🎧🎧🎧
Hey dude how do you feel about bands like Thee Oh Sees, Ty Segall, King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard etc
Just wished you’d stayed in each place a lot longer… pity I live across the pond.

Yes I do count my lucky stars!
@@BrendonSnyder a friend of mine just sent me Trevor Raibin's and Steven Wilson's new albums. That's pretty cool.
Brendan, how many miles did you cover to complete the record store crawl? It seems crazy that there are so many stores in such a small area! I might have to sell my house to finance a trip to New Jersey 😂

You could travel all ove the country and do a 10 record stores in every city. That would be cool.
That’s on my list of new places to try
Long live the Record Store!
Hell YEAH! 🤘
very interesting just to quick in panning with the camera for prices (vision impaired) cheers great video
Video isn’t about the pricing, it’s about the store itself and getting an overall feel. But for pricing you can always pause.
cool!
Thanks! 👍

how are you ALWAYS in a smiling good mood?
That pricing on the fly crap is unacceptable. I would never patronize that shop.
Yeah I don’t put up with it.
@@BrendonSnyder yeah, it's an extremely shady practice. I wouldn't be surprised if they use eBay active listings (not even sold) irrespective of condition.
It's criminal behaviour why promote the shop?
Did you happen to come across the Jimmy Page Remaster in your travels and what are your thoughts on them lol!
Why do you keep asking the same question that is unreleased to both videos that you posted it on?
@@BrendonSnyder Sorry just need your opinion before I make a purchase lol OG or the Page remasters
They’re both good. But the new remasters are double albums. It depends if you want the extras or not.

Good luck finding Flipside open...🙄
What does that mean? I had no issue.
I have found the store closed most of the time whether it's the weekend or otherwise even during posted opening hours.

I just think the owner can care less and opens when he just feels like it
3:33 - I wish I was there (sorry for the Pink Floyd paraphrase)
There should be a record store that just carries heavy metal bands.. no rap/pop/hip hop/country and anything else that ain't metal..😂
That’s pretty much Music Connection but they do have Rock
Brendon don't you have *any* other hobbies?? LoL
That Babylon A.D. and Baton Rouge 🔥
Two killer bands!
