What a beautiful sentiment! I was listening to this song riding my bicycle in a neighborhood high on the hilltops looking down the town below and felt such a sense of tranquility and the JOY of being alive ❤
This was the first RPG my sister brought me on SNES. I stayed up all night to beat it. She was intrigued at my tenacity and frustrated that she felt she wasted 50 bucks for a game that didn't last. I told her it was my favorite game ever and the love I have for her and ILoG would be defining memories in my life. Unfortunately she passed away untimely, so I play this game every year. In her honor, I allow this song to play for almost an hour reminiscing. Like Will, Kara, and his loved ones, I hope if we are given another chance, I wish to live it all over again with her.
This is hands down for me one of the most under rated rpgs of all time. The music takes me back to my childhood. I was born in the 80s so this game is a big part of that,
It doesn´t have the best battle system, it´s not the longest RPG and neither it has the best graphics. But it´s the definetely the game that creates me more nostalgic feelings and can take me back to my chilhood. Amazing atmoshpere and fantastic OST
First saw this game played way back in the day when my cousins rented it during a sleepover. My uncle, who was a gamer, later gifted me his CIB copy. Still have it. Always loved the story and OST in this one. No idea why the composer didn't go on to do anything else. One of the best SNES soundtracks as far as I'm concerned. I'm always humming this one to myself at work.
HOLY HELL after listening to those ridiculous compilations of every song uses the same four chords videos I just realized THIS ONE DOES TOO. MIND BLOWN!!!!
Maybe. I wouldn't say it's too dark, though. Not as dark as some OTHER games I've seen lately... It seems more mysterious than dark to me. I liked exploring those ancient sites!
@@danceswithchihuahuas I missed one in the tiny town you wash up in after the raft so I stopped caring about finding them all. Now I have a good reason to play it again. Honestly I love the story and atmosphere so much I probably would have played it again anyway haha
@@bearsuitClan dude WILD that you responded today bc I literally just beat Illusion of Gaia last night for the first time. The ending was so, so good. Like better than Lufia II's ending imo (iykyk). I had just picked it back up a couple days ago, I'd lost steam realizing I missed some red jewels and just put it back on the shelf. But I'm so glad I went back and finished it. Like I almost teared up. I definitely feel like it would be a game you should share with your kids or your wife or anyone you're close to. That message of love and friendship transcending time and space, such a beautiful game. Guess I gotta pick up Soul Blazer soon

The story of this game described true beliefs I had about the history of humanity. I was in shock of Excitment while playing this game. I don't know any game today explaining the different existences being can have beyond the physical one. The explanation of life also in those things often considered lifeless like a comet or planets. The mysterious (mystic sensed) atmosphere of the game in general. Truly a master piece gathering together and connecting many legends in one storyline 💫
This song literally brings tears to my eyes. It represents everything worth protecting.
I come back here every time I want peace.

Beautiful comment hope you and your sis doing well!
Wow.
When a soundtrack means far, far more than a soundtrack.
Wow, thank you so much for sharing this intimate connection.
Your sister lives forever through this song and game. ❤️
Wonderful comment❤ i love this game sooooo much too! Unnormal so much.
I always wanted to be cool enough to hang out with Seth and his friends in the cave.

I've had this song stuck in my head for at least 10 years.. Thankfully.
And now almost for 20 years :)
@@Ivan.Perez505 I love this game's soundtrack. Boy oh boy do I miss the 90's.
Sometimes I wake up in the morning and this song is playing in my head. Then I know it's going to be a particularly good day ❤
The “Caw!” Never fails to make me smile.
It's so classic :-)
This game is so fking underrated. It is clearly at the level of any Zelda game.
Alcohogrifo It surpasses Zelda in some areas. Story, mainly.
Definitely one of the top action RPGs on the SNES. I admit I like Twisted Tales of Spike McFang a bit more.
I remember when I was little on the snes the good times this music has stayed in my head since childhood

It has good graphics, but I've seen better in other SNES games. I've seen worse in SoulBlazer, the prequel to this game.
Same here for me, the nostalgia is intense.
It do not have to be too long, it not complicated, there no best of anything. This game all around fun and my top 10.
Me recuerda a una canción de Magnolia y Los No Me Olvides
En mi nariz siempre es invierno
So many memories...
I feel ya man
The town map, is something I will forever remember.

I'll remember this game forever, dude, tho is so underrated. :(

Seagull, an underrated percussive instrument
Underrated comment
Randomly remembered this theme in 2023, searched TH-cam and here i am!
Posting here because I heard this music in my dream last night.
When games were made with soul
Reminds me of coming home from school on Friday and playing this game late into the night
My favorite music from this underrated classic rpg :)
Man, that SNES soundchip really did an incredible job.
この曲聴いてるとしみじみくるわ〜。
ガイア幻想紀は俺が初めて感動したゲーム。
Beautiful graphics and music!
90s is miss youuu! Those where the golden times where jewels like Gaia were released. Those games really had heart in it and you could feel it.
I agree 100%
beautiful
Much like its prequel, seems the composers for this game were fans of baroque music - you can hear influence from Canon in D around 0:40.
Japanese composers in the 90s man. They were next level. Very much peak
@@bearsuitClan What exactly did you have in mind by that?

Amen to that. I've had this stuck in my head all day, too, as I'm about my college campus. X_X
This gives me the feeling of waking up, lost, in an unknown neighborhood and never finding home.
I FEELING THIS SO HARD
Vine por Magnolia y los no me olvides 👍
music is man's greatest acheivment

This song used to make me sad for the fear of losing my mother, thank God I didn’t but still it makes me sad for reminding me of that feeling
if i had theme music everytime i walked out of my house, this would be it
Excellent !
Such a lovely game. Still good feels going on 20-30 years later! ✔

Wooow...en mi nariz siempre será invierno...👍...!!!
Too bad there no replay value to this awesome game. I still love it, even though you can't revisit most of the towns and ruins.
Big replay value if you don’t know where all the red gems are…
