- I think that the 2006 Toyota Camry is the best used car for $3000. It's reliable, cheap to maintain, has great fuel economy and just works.

This generation Camry (2002-2006) was well-built and very reliable.
It absolutely is.
Just bought a 2004 Camry LE with the V6 for $3500 at a local Toyota dealership. It has 163K miles. Well maintained and service history. Very good to excellent condition. Zero rust. Had to replace the struts, front brakes, and O2 sensor. Car drives like brand new.
With those miles you should not have to replace anything else for 50k
I believe the v6 has a timing belt I would suggest that you get it check if it breaks your engine will be ruined , just in case if you take care of that belt the car will last you a long time , I'm not a mechanic, I just experienced a belt break on a car and I couldn't afford to get it fix ,good luck
the used camry's prices are so crazy nowadays.
They really are
Alw yeah they definitely are especially depending on where you live. I seen some for 4000 4500 and it has 220 and up some 250k I got it it’s a Toyota but damn
@@AyoHustlaAgreed, it's because there's too many people trying to flip cars.
@@OfficialDiffy make sense, and some people they just being a bit greedy lol.
The sister car, the ES330 is a significantly smoother, quieter and luxurious interior. Both cost same to maintain!
also v6 which is better
@@fahad1992fahtakes up more gas tho
@@deadly_m5 yes it dose but not as much as u think, just a slightly more, but HUGE difference on the performance especially when u drive on highways for long distances
@@fahad1992fah harder to work on which means labor rates are higher.
@@JMark514 nope not true, except for spark plugs which happens every 3-4 years and a bit extra labor not alot, which wont matter long term, saving 100-250$ over 3-5 years wont be a difference that makes a person change his decision
I just bought a 2003 2.4 liter Camry for $3000 and I absolutely love it.
It's a tank and it'll go forever if you take care of it!
I have a 2006LECAMARY. Bought it new and now has 95k miles. Valve cover leaks slightly, no big deal. The car does not burn oil. Very reliable. I did change an alternator, fan belt, water pump, tires, front disc brakes. Now my second car and am happy with my 2017 LE.😊
I had the same issue. Valve cover had a leak but never burned any oil. It was a great car! Hopefully the 2017 lives a long and problem free life!
@@theaveragecar672 Has anyone had any problem with the MAF (mass air flow sensor)?
@@rodbutler4054did MAF just need a replacement or what?
I got a 2004 for my daughter several years ago. It now has 265K and is still going strong. I have read that the 2.4 engine has a blown head gasket/stripped head bolt problem that is pretty common, but so far it hasn't shown up on her car.
Does it burn oil excessively?
I can totally agree. I still drive my 2005 Camry with over 350,000 kms. Almost 20 years old and runs smooth. Solid car. Toronto Canada
Just bought a 2002 camry XLE V6 with 206k miles for 4k. Not a dent on it no leaks, everything works. and it runs and drives like new. Im leaving on a 2400 mile trip in a couple of weeks with it. Iv never owned a better running vehicle.
Got yourself a solid rig right there that should like a long time!
Got my 03 with 250k has 336k now still runs great
this past march i bought a 2005 XLE V6 with 200k miles for $2500 bucks, hasnt skipped a beat since
I love that someone put the 2012-14 Camry se wheels on there looks really good. Did u put them on
Yup I did. Found them for sale with tires for such a good deal that I couldn't pass it up.
You made a good decision on the last year of the fifth generation Toyota Camry. I have one just like yours same color but I have two extras. I have leather interior and I have a six cylinder rims are almost purchased mine from discount tire but you made a good decision, these cars were start up and 30 below 00 by the way I live in Chicago just take care of it. Make sure your fluids good your radiator is good. Your sensors are good for your cooling. If you have air conditioning in it make sure that stays straight too.
dude those wheels, really look fantastic on that Camry. I would love to find a set like those. they don't seem original.
They really do! They’re not original. These came off a 2012-2014 Camry SE!
Good purchase! Take care of it, wash off road salts etc, keep up with the wear and tear items and it will take care of you! It has been the best car for me to own in this crazy time we are living. I've owned mine since 2020 with NO Stress.
Thanks! It's been great to me so far for the 6 months I've owned it. They'll go for a long time if you take care of them!
Going to save up for one these very reliable car
Absolutely, they're fantastic.
I've got a 2004 Camry, bought new, that has 73k on it! It's 2 years older than this one & I wouldn't sell it for $3,000.!
Your would be worth more since the miles are lower but the ones I usally see for 3k has high miles, or something expensive needs to be repaired
you cant just whip out $3000 and buy one of these in decent shape. Not saying it's impossible to get one that cheap, but it will almost definitely have issues. Market value on a clean Camry of this gen is like 6 grand
Oh yeah, but they are out there. I had to wait a couple weeks but the patience paid off. In terms of issues, yes agreed. Made sure to make that point in the beginning, nearly anything in this price range will have its issues
@@theaveragecar672couple of weeks?! I had to look for about 6 months and finally found a 2008 Corolla with 91,000 miles. But it needed work still so I would say $5,000 makes more sense
You cant get this for $3000 More like $6000 up in good condition $3000 gets you all kinds of problems
Can be found but hard
Of course you can get it at that price if you look around and find a reasonable owner. They are out there
I love this gen Camry and I know way too much about this gen as far as options, colors, models, etc. These cars are super reliable if you keep up with service. That engine is the 2AZ and it's very reliable and great on gas. I had a 2004 Camry a few years ago with the 2AZ and I took a 600 mile trip in it and it was easily getting close to 32 MPG on the highway. I now have a 2005 Camry LE V6 and I get about 28MPG on the highway. The number one thing to watch for on this gen Camry is the steering racks start leaking around the boots and the rack would need replacing, if it still is original. Your car looks like a Lunar Mist Metallic silver with Stone fabric. Yours looks like a very low optioned LE probably the only option would have been floor mats, a trunk mat, and it would have originally had wheel covers. The wheels on your Camry are from a 2012-2014 Camry SE and I think they look good on this gen Camry.
Appreciate the info! Yeah it's pretty bare bones, and I did put the rims on after I got it. It just had some steelies on it.
It's treating me well so far, and I've had it for going on 6 months now!
The V6 may be smoother but it uses a timing belt not a chain like in the 4 cylinder models. Chains last considerably longer.
But the belts are easy to change on the 3.0. and last 100k
@@craigslistrro709also it's a non-interference motor. So if the timing belt goes, you won't have any internal engine damage. Get it towed to a shop, new timing service and you're back on your way.
I bought mine like 5 years ago for 2,200 after negotiating it down from 2,800. Currently at 225,000 miles on it
I got a 2003 just hit 300000.
@@keithnourse6829 👏🏼👏🏼
I miss those pre covid car prices
I want this car
Is it possible to add the buttons on the right side of the steering wheel? Arent those blank? In the owner manual it shows button that can be used to see fuel economy, range etc in the clock display
Idk how the LE but the XLE I think has those but u could be wrong I know the 07 and up has it
I have a Honda from the same era. It's amazing how many things you can do without taking your eyes off the road. I have a newer car too and I have to navigate to a menu to adjust the heat. Ridiculous. Why did we get away from safety
I got a 2003 Toyota Camry LE 2.4L just hit 300000 miles guns good. I did put a cool air intake on mine. Sounds good I like it anyway. I had a dentist like that in my front driver bumper. My buddy I got the car from said he tried pushing it out and could not. I parked it in the sun one a sort of hot day. It was not 90° out or nothing. And I then pushed the dent right out. Maybe it was the sun that heated it up for me and maybe I'm just stronger then my buddy probably a bit of both lol. But you could try that or dump boiling hot water on the dent and it may pop out on its own. But grate care I been doing a lot to mine. Some needed normal maintenance stuff brakes. Mine leaked oil so I put a new oil pain gasket on it new valve cover a red one that was just cause I wanted it lol. And I did a lot of stuff that I just wanted to do before it did go bad. Just cuz it's a 2003 and I don't know when or if the things have ever been done before.
Aluminum bumper wouldn't pop out like a plastic bumper if you poured hot water on it.
I see these everywhere and by the TONS!
Yup! They’re great cars
Good; I should be able to find one to buy.
Use to have a 06 Toyota Camry LE had it for 10 years until my Older Son took it without telling me I was at work and crashed it going to Fullerton to meet his Cousin
Hell nah. Buy him a german car from the 90s as punishment 😂
3k??? How many miles does this car have? You should fix that valve cover gasket immediately
Picked it up with just under 199k miles.
Bro, what is the size of your car's rims and tyres?
They are 215/55R17 if I’m not mistaken it’s from the 2012/14 Camry se. The original tire size of the 02/06 Camry are 15
@AyoHustla Yes, I have the original one, 205/65R15, but I want to upgrade it to this one, same as yours. It looks nice, but how about this size? Is it OK with the car?
@@Moh_Omar I think they should be fine the guy that uploaded the video cars seem to be doing fine so you should be good double check with him first tho.
Thanks, bro @@AyoHustla
En que parte esta el carro
Do you know of a good used car for around 10-12 thousand range?
2015-2017 Toyota Camry 2.5 l engine and 6 speed automatic ( from Australia)
2015-2017 Toyota Camry if you change oil and oil filter, replace transmission fluid, coolant change, air filter… it’s will last forever, my 2017 Toyota Camry, very smooth drive beautiful…can run for 600.000km ( from Australia)
Get A 2014 and up Camry they are very good.
You did well for 3K, this car can last you years and save $.
Absolutely!
Toyota did not know what technology was
I heard this camry break fails when on highway speed. How true can this be please?
I’m not sure who said it, but that’s not true for me. And I’m sure a lot of others as well. These are super reliable cars! If you’re looking to buy one, I’d recommend getting a trusted mechanic to look at it before you buy.
3000 more like 5 to 6 grand in South East unless trashed
Debating on this gen or the 3rd gen
Tough call. Might just come down to preference. I like this gen more than 3rd personally!
Also consider side curtain airbags
I just got the same car for 1,500
Nice find!
@@theaveragecar672 thanks
Damn wheel is so sexy!
Keep the wheels and swap the car for a 2005-2006, 3.0 V6. It smoother and more powerful with 50 more hp and torque.
True but u get better gas miles on the 2.4
Get the v6 guy's.
Yeah the v6 is definitely more fun to drive!
Get the V6 why ? To buy more gas ?
Mine is the 2.4l with a cool air intake and a turbo. Beats a V6 no prob and still gets the better gas mileage.
Yeah I just don’t want to deal with a timing belt and want to get slightly better mpg
I had an 05 v6 LE and drove to 400K km (260k miles?) when i sold it, only regular maintenance and some minor issues. The rear bearing needed replacement at 350k km and the headlamp turned vert yellowish and need some toothpaste to be repolished, at 200k km the front o2 sensor went bad and replaced. Other than the aforementioned small maintenance issues it ran like new all the time.
The chances of finding a clean 2006 Camry for $3000 is very low.
Not impossible, though. It took a few weeks of searching, and I was able to find one. Also really depends on the local market.
Just bought a 2005 v4 Camry lE for 4000 it has 148k miles I'm in Washington state car prices are stupid up here I feel like I made a great deal car is super clean and the paint if 8/10 I'm super happy with my car

Nope, not where I live.
@theaveragecar672 I know, I incredibly lucky to find such a great car (2003 XLE) for that low, low price.
