    I know you guys are all passionate about which phone you use, but here are just a few things I've noticed recently when moving between my iPhone and my S24 Ultra / Android phones.
    If you're bored of your Android and want to consider an iPhone, by all means - give it a try! Hopefully this video helps point out some of the reasons why you might want to try one out.

    Just switch from S23U to the 16 Pro and I still wonder why. Iphones are supposed to be user-friendly but one of the most basic gesture that any users would use, which is back gesture, is extremely inconsistent on iOS. With android or Samsung, you get a dedicated back button on the navigation bar at the bottom, or you can swipe from both the left and right side inwards in order to back, it just works regardless apps. But on iphones, some apps do allow swiping from the left, some force you to swipe down, some locate the back button at the top, some on the top right others on the top left.

    I tried switching to Android from iPhone recently and it didn't go well. Android is fine and the Samsung Galaxy Ultra is a nice phone, but there were far too many sacrifices for the few extra benefits. You can't go wrong either way. Choose the one that works best for your lifestyle and for the people in your life.

      I have both and it's not that big a deal. Most people use the same small collection of apps over and over. You adapt without thinking about it. I get that Android owners like to think it's a big deal, but in the real world, phone in hand, it's not. Should it be more consistent? Probably. Is it the end of the world or a deal breaker? No.

    Biased video. Because i own an iPhone, do i HAVE TO buy Apple products ? I DON'T think so.
    You can perfectly own an iPhone and live an great experience without other Apple products.
    Nobody NEEDS to be in Apple ecosystem.
    Let's be clear, Apple have every right to set up its ecosystem, it's their job and they do it well.
    But, it's wrong to pressure people. Using a iPhone and being in Apple ecosystem are 2 different things.

    Im really struggling with this video. Im on the samsung ecosystem and it does everything that Apple does, and some things better. So i dont feel your review is fair as your talking about Android rather than Samsung ecosystem. Samsung is the only one that competes.

    • @PeteMatheson
      @PeteMatheson  20 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      Yeah I wanted to cover android in general. Samsung is definitely getting there, and even beyond Apple in some cases! It’s different if it was purely Apple vs Samsung

    • @echezonaeric6404
      @echezonaeric6404 17 วันที่ผ่านมา +6

      @duncanamc I feel the same way. The review is so biased that I couldn’t even finish the whole video. It’s also somewhat inconsistent, making comparisons that feel unrelatable and unreasonable, which made me think it's more about getting views than providing a fair review.
      For example, have you ever focused solely on a Samsung watch and experienced it failing to sync your workout progress on your samsung phone? Or using soley Huawei phone paired with the watch and it failed to sync? If not, how can you suddenly bring in Huawei or other brands just to complain about their syncing issues? Yet, when comparing the Apple Watch, you only consider its sync with an iPhone, and you call that fair?
      I’ve watched reviews from other tech TH-camrs like Mrwhostheboss, MKBHD, and others. They always provide honest and straightforward information, which is why they’re my favorite tech reviewers. They don’t show bias or make derogatory comments just for views or attention, but I can’t say the same here.
      I understand the reviewer’s enthusiasm for Apple, but generalizing that and directly comparing it with Android, then claiming that Apple is far better, feels like an unreasonable comparison. It seems like it's more for views than to genuinely guide people in making informed decisions if they want to buy something.
      That said, in terms of functionality, customization, and, to a large extent, usability, Samsung has an edge over Apple. Samsung’s broad commitment to tech and household items, while still competing with Apple, sorry i mean, looking at their competition (Apple) which focuses mainly on computing gadgets, makes the comparison feel unfair, somewhat unrelatable.
      Make your reviews fair, or you risk losing viewers. I rest my case.

    I tried switching from S23U to iPhone 16PM recently...
    After a week, I can said that I couldn't stand IOS's keyboard and home screen management
    Gboard on android is so much better in everyway, from simply holding down the keys to input special characters to the clipboard...
    IOS's home screen is messy as heck, and the widgets feels half-baked

    Switched to Android a few months ago. While I liked the freedom and the ability to customize to my liking, I later realized that I need my phone to be reliable and predictable. Apple provides that, a predictable phone for everyone. You don’t need to get the best thing there is, an iPhone 14 from 2022 will serve you well. Most of my friends are still using iPhone 11 and they even skipped this year, because it’s still holding strong for them. I was frustrated with Apple that they didn’t bring the basic stuff they lacked, but it is actually coming slowly. Like the ability to use NFC payments without Apple Pay because it’s not available in my country.

    Thanks for another great video. I have been an Android user for 10 years and, working in a Google environment in education, there is really no alternative as certain free apps are just not available on iOS. Having said all of that, if cost was not an issue for a semi-retired teacher, I would gladly have borne the discomfort in order to be in the Apple ecosystem. I simply could not, and cannot, afford everything Apple.

    For me, it's not just the ecosystem I have with my own devices, but the integration and ecosystem with everyone else's device. If I have an Android and want to share files with another Android user, I have to ask which model? Do they have this particular app downloaded? The account setup? For example, the Apple contact sharing. That was rolled out, and it just worked. For everyone. If Samsung did that, it would only work with other Samsung phones. Too many models/companies, each with their own mini ecosystem which leads to more hassle for me as a user.

    Apple in the US is more like a monopoly and yes, it's consistent and has a reliable ecosystem because people are accustomed to it due to its restrictions (like iMessages and the lack of compatibility with android or other OS). This in turn creates a problem where Apple dictates how we should use the device, what price we should pay and what we can do with the device.
    Android on the other hand doesn't have restrictions and has a plethora of options. If one isn't suited for you, there'll obviously be another company that's offering you a better deal. You don't have to spend as much as you would spend on an iPhone and still get all the camera and performance on android. You can use any variety of devices and all of them would work together ( a different headphone paired with a windows laptop, different smartwatch and a different tv) and everything would still work according to your need.
    But yes, that means both of the choices above are catered towards to different categories of people. And it's all about one's subjective preference whether to pick an option where you don't need to control everything yourself and is just handed to you, so you'd have to pay more and follow any rules/restrictions they impose. And the other group, where you have all the freedom, don't have to worry about breaking your bank, repairable but you have to set things up instead of the company setting it up.

    Just wanted to share, that you can make iPhone smoother by reducing the animations under accessibility settings. As a visually impaird former iPhone user (now a Galaxy user on an S23+), I should know.
    If only Magback would support more than just the Ultra line of Samsung phones... But at least they're cheaper than the iPhone ones..
    Do I get an S24 Ultra in Purple when the S25 Ultra comes out? Or the more compact S24? Not sure! I'm debating. At least my S23+ in Purple is paid off...
    Mind ya I don't mind the plus phone... I'm one of those who types with one finger on the screen so...

    idk, iPhones are for the severely impressionable and financially irresponsible imo. That or the people who just want a phone that's accessible and don't care about how much they spend - as long as they can get all their apps and they work well.
    Android is cool but they never seems to be able to deliver a well-rounded product like Apple seems to do. The problem with having 'Android' running on hundreds of differently made products with their own customisations along the way is that it seems more intimidating to approach even if the hardware or software is better.

    Whenever seeing reviews and they talk about only being able to customize their Home Screen so much on iPhone, I always wonder if this is because of the accessibility features that Apple offers for its products. Of course, most don't need them and probably don't even have a clue of them existing let alone how to use them, but for the people that do, it's instrumental. Example - I've seen some of my friends that are vision impaired use the grid of the icons to navigate and know where their apps are. So I don't knock the grid system at all because I know the usability is made for more than just me.

    iOS remains stable in the long run but it is definetly behind android in terms of everyday functionality. Apple is like Japan of mobile phones. Always one step forward and two steps back!! They will give you features like airdrop but won't give you the option to access location settings from control centre. I just don't understand these silly restrictions.
