    Hi Guys, this video give you a hands on explanation on the working directional solenoid valve used in back hoe loader machines like Mahindra, Caterpillar etc. This function of this valve is to direct the transmission oil flow toward the gear box shuttle reverser to enable a forward or reverse selection of gears on the transmission of the vehicle.
    We will be dismantling the unit in this video and explain it.

    The shaft also allows for manually shifting the valve.
    Quick electrical trouble shooting device is a magnetic field tester. Place it against the coil. It it lights up you have power as well as a magnetic field at the coil.

      Solenoid valves are available for different pressure ratings. Vacuum pressure valves are also available at pneumatic hardware shops.

      Instead of reading through all of the posts to see if your question has been answered or not, I will give you the explanation you seek. The pressure of the working medium, be it water, oil or a gas, is NOT acting on the spool valve at all. There is no difference in pressure, also known as Delta P, so the force needed to shuttle the valve back and forth is only enough to overcome the friction of the seals that are rubbing against the spool part of the valve. If it was a Poppet style valve, then depending upon the direction of the fluid flow, lots of energy can be needed to overcome that pressure. Or a pilot valve system might have to be used.
      Randy

    Im in the process of removing the 4 way solenoid operated yuken directional; valve from a frick screw compressor(NH3) to change the seal kit. Do I need to isolate and pump down /vent the compressor? will there be any pressure? should I be concerned removing it or is it simple

    • @lancydsouza1326
      @lancydsouza1326 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      It is always advisable to pump down and de-pressurise your compressors unless you need a uncontrollable oil bath. Example, carrier 06N screw, don't have to de-pressurise or pump down to replace internal oil filter cause solenoid is there to prevent. But if you want to repair or replace solenoid, then you must follow depressurising procedure.

    How directional solenoid valve works?? Most of your teaching are ½ pass 6! Keep talking round the bushes with rubbish and shit!! BUT the very basic of how the shaft directing the fluid was not told!!

    • @lancydsouza1326
      @lancydsouza1326 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      There is no shaft in solenoid valve, instead it is called as plunger. The component changing direction of flow is called as piston. As soon as one side coil is energized, plunger closes orifice causing pressure build up on piston causing to move away and bleeding through outlet to activate related device.
