Hello again, do they sell just the port cover or as you say the battery door separately? Just started trying this vertical battery but gets annoying taking the cover off and on when changing the battery.
I just received my camera and updated software (on iphone 8+. Connected to camera...and has been connecting for about 15 minutes...how long does it take to connect and have the camera update???
it is compatible , but considering ONE RS has three mics , one mic might be blocked by the vertical battery. I am still waiting for the offcial solution on vertical battery. Let us wait
Does this mount also water tight seal the charging port of the core module so the vertical setup will keep water protected, compared to the one of Insta 360, what doesn't water seal the setup?

@@YuqingGuo Third party designers seam to forget about the lens gard - it's something that should be included in its design! If it hooks on the fixed side and clips to the opening side, then they add another form of locking to the door.

Great video! Do you think this metal cage will help with the thermals of the camera? I look forward to purchasing it for this purpose as well as installing additional heat sinks since where I live is very hot.
Well I would just place the audio recorder, aka my phone, in my pocket and the lavalier mic on my shirt. No hassle at all. But I mean you COULD attach it on the frame.
Yeah. And try to get insta360 to ship it all at once! They say the vertical battery must be sent separately and that takes a month. I just received my vertical battery yesterday after ordering it 5 weeks ago.
It does not seem to be any advantage to have the Vertical battery base and have to buy the metal vertical cage if the capacity of the battery is the SAME as the RED battery. You also lose the mic input, as you mentioned. The Twin set comes with its own small cage using the red battery anyway. The only advantage is the 9:16 vertical format, according to your video. Thanks for the details.
I’m surprised that it won’t record 16:9 in vertical position. Tried it with my One R with 4k mod in vertical position and that’s indeed the case. Thanks!
Ok, I'm intersted in getting this metal cage, as well as the cage for the standard battery. Where can I get them?? I'm living in China at the moment, are they available on JD.com or taobao?? Going to purchase a oneR in the next month or so, and definetly want these cases, because they certainly look better than the insta360 products!! Definetly good to see the screw mount on both, I feel that was a big mistake insta made, going with the gopro type mount, and not including the ease of a screw mount!! Awesome work, these designs look amazing, and very well thought out!!

@@YuqingGuo I will have to search and see if I can find it!! Not a fan of these Go-Pro style mounts, with adapters!! Having a permanent screw mount is definitely the best option!! I don't know why Insta360 decided to go the way they did, but after doing everything so well with this camera, it was a bad move not to include a straight screw mount for this!! Loving the camera though, looking forward to lots of experimenting to see what I can get out of it!!

It should not take more than a week much less a month to push this thing out, especially if he already has a prototype. It's not like it's a vaccine that has to undergo multiple levels of safety tests....

it is compatible , but considering ONE RS has three mics , one mic might be blocked by the vertical battery. I am still waiting for the offcial solution on vertical battery. Let us wait
