Another great instruction and deep dive into this great feature! May I ask a question? On my pretty old Theta V I can shift the EV in HDR mode to shift the whole Exposure series more to + or - EV. Is this also possible with this HDR DNG plugin on the Theta X? And is it possible to fix the ISO to the lowest value?

We need bigger sensor than X, we need heat resistancy, we need aperture priority, we need bottom powercable, we need small industrial functional screens, we need repairable/replacable lenses. Please Ricoh give us Z2 as well.

Yuqing Guo tanks for the video and the explanation. This firmware update is the best one this magnificent Ricoh camera has ever had. I have been using it for several years but this HDR plugin is a real success, because it makes the camera behave at another level and the 70 MP for VR360 are really effective and surpass other cameras that exist in the semi-professional lines of other brands. Certainly the HDR procedure with Lightroom and the Ricoh Tetha Stitcher require some knowledge, but the results are exceptional.

They really need to fix the stitching issues before a professional could use this camera. They seem to have no answer for the problem which is strange but maybe they will figure it out.

I have been testing my Kandao QooCam 3 Ultra 8K extensively and I am vary happy with 8 bit color with fixed ISO of 100 and shutter fixed (according to lighting). 10 bit color and/or Dynamic Range Boost are not pleasant for me (I enjoy crystal crisp frames, [i.e. not any level of blur, which I could do in post if I ever wanted it, but I don't]). Your 8K 30p comparison at about 37:31 is a great example. BTW, you did not say if the first shot was 8 bit or 10 bit color (I am assuming 10 bit). I paused the video and simply used my keyboard TH-cam shortcut Keys of "left cursor" and "right cursor" to toggle back and forth many times between the 10bit and DR Boost version. And I prefer the "clarity" of your 10 bit shot. Looking at the window ledges and seeing the surface divots are more well defined in the 10 bit view (is what I like). The outside buildings are crisper (for my preference) and look at the wall behind the bed, the patterns are much better defined in the 10 bit version. about the only thing I like better in the DR boost mode is the red table but I can easily alter that in Davinci Resolve or maybe in the latest QooCam Studio now(?) or other app. I have a bit more testing to do but so far I am most satisfied with 8 bit color mode vs 10 bit for the same reason. I seem to be getting more clarity (which is what I am wanting) with 8 bit color in my 8K 30p videos. Thanks for the great videos. How about a detailed video about all the new features in the QooCam Studio?

Why should I use dng-8 instead of AEB? Nearly all 360 images suffer from exposure issues of too hot sun etc. and does it make a difference motion / ghostinz wise if I use dng 8 vs aeb with 9 stops?

thanks for the post.... just to let you know the Samsung T7 SSD works well as external.... one thing that was confusing at least to me when they released the new app update.... you can open/edit the footage on the phone/app but you can't move the footage into the App media folder so that you can use the special effects page... so you have to shoot on the internal memory then export to the App media folder and it works that way... but not with the external memory... ???

Interesting, why lock at 7? For VFX HDR I would shoot at 100 iso to fast shutter speed to the higher to capture all lights details for the CGI integration well is not bad 100 iso every 2 stops is like 14 stops would be great to 9 to have 21 stops this for CGI is just what we need.

I am very disappointed with the purchase of this Insta360 X4! It is of no use to me for making virtual tours, there is no AEB! It's incredible! When will there be an AEB exposure bracketing option for photos in 3/5/7/9 photos in Raw DNG? To generate really high-quality HDR photos? The poor JPG HDR PureShot cannot be used... It is unacceptable, this option is present on any camera these days and is essential! I have to take series of 5 photos by hand, manually changing the exposure between each shot, what a waste of time and if some elements have moved, clouds for example, it is unusable. I regret my purchase. My old Theta ZI from 2019 which unfortunately gave up the ghost had all these options! She had other faults, my HDR photos were sublime... WHEN WILL THERE BE AN UPDATE TO INTEGRATE AEB???

@ 03:43 (4k 60p single lens) it turns out that your clip did not render as true 60p. Yes, your full YT video is 60p, and the 8K 30p does have the expected duplicated frames because the render for upload was 60p (so that the 8K 30p had to have duplicate frames (sans optical Flow). However your recorded 4K 60p is ALSO using duplicate frames in the full YT 60p render (this could happen if you (at some point during post) rendered (or set) the 4k 60p at half speed slow-mo. But your 4k segment appears to be in real time, therefore your 4k 60 render dropped every other frame as if it were 30p, then duplicated every remaining frame to fit the 60p final render. Just an observation ... because I am trying to see what everyone else is coming up with in the comparisons of the ultra's different modes. thanks for all the videos.
