    When Wyman was asked after the fact if he liked the teardrop Vox bass his reply was, "Not really". He played it because they paid him to and it was free...

      Vox never paid him a shilling to play their guitars. He played it because Brian ordered him to play it or else.

      @@zurdoremi I really doubt that. The main reason Wyman got in the band was he had more equipment than the rest of them and he had cigarettes...

    sounds acoustic. sounds 1960s. sounds good. Sounds better than a Gibson EB-2 or Epiphone Rivoli. I like it very much. Finally something different other than a new distortion pedal !

    I love that bass. Lee Jackson of the Nice used one. Lots of hollow body basses at that time had that sound. It was a relief from the relatively standard sound of the Fender Jazz (which I find annoying unless played by Hugh Hopper or Janick Top and a few others) or the Precision (John Wetton was great on that) but Fenders were so overused they became characterless. There were SO MANY different basses that limiting to one type seems kind of closed minded. In the right hands, that put out some juice!
    By the way, Jackson also played a Fender Mustang (like Wyman, but switched to the Vox),a Gibson Hollow Body, a Rickenbacker, and a Music Man.
    For a while in the early 60s, I think, Fenders and Gibsons were rare or expensive. (That's why McCartney bought a Hofnér instead of a Fender. There was an extraordinary difference in price!)

    I have been trying to find and locate my dads old Vox guitar. I have never seen one like it til this day. There are teardrop body style but my dads was not and it had all the bells and whistles on it. My brother sold it drunk for a 100.00 and the man took it to a Texas guitar show and will not even say the price he had gotten for it. I do have pictures of my dad playing it and I have pictures of it when it was sold in Texas show. Could you help me find it plz.?

    Sounds like your playing Miss You minus a few notes, Lol .. is that Bill Wymans actual bass, or a “a” Bill Wyman bass? He used that on some tracks on Beggars Banquet and Let it Bleed, might be some clips on Ed Sullivan in 67’.. Also Bill doesn’t play bass on Sympathy for the Devil and Jumping Jack Flash, it’s Keith.

    Take one minute and wipe down the instruments you're selling. Yes, believe it or not, clean things sell better, and it reflects on your shop. My local shop is huge on that. Every employee has a polish rag hanging out of their back pockets. I even ask the owner about it, and he says that if he walks on the floor and finds finger prints and dust on his stock, there is hell to pay. So they just do it and keep the boss happy. It feels good to pick up a clean, fresh guitar.

    • @paulhopkins8148

      And while you're at it; take the damn Zippered jacket off. Ever hear of buckle rash? It devalues any instrument, and makes one wonder how the rest of your instruments are abused.

    • @sixstringlove8242
      @sixstringlove8242 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +TheOlmecindian Yes, it is awkward as all hell. He tries too hard to be the goofy fun guy and it comes off as annoying and a little creepy. He seems like a nice guy, but he needs to tone it down (no pun intended) and act his age, which is probably 40.
