@@knightvalory Master of torque? WTF? Look, I also owned this bike before selling it. The issue isn't the high toque; I've since owned bikes with much more. The issue is the fueling as you blend in throttle. It's overly abrupt and made the bike harder to ride in technical stuff than my Multistrada.

I love my 2019 MT-09. At least on my model I just needed to learn how to use it's throttle appropriately. It took me some getting used to. Two bikes previously were dualsport adventure type. This is my first Yamaha and my first naked. I love mine.

I have a 2019 MT-09 as well (Gen 2 are the best looking IMO), Amazing bike! I have a full Akro system and a Dynojet tune and the throttle is smooth as butter, ohlins rear shock and comfort seat as well which make it the perfect bike.

I came to my present naked bike Cbf600n from sports bikes and I love it. No 45 mins taking various bits off to do a service. The secret is stay under 65-70 mph and is great. Anyway with the 20 mph limits here now and speed camera vans everywhere there’s no chance to go any quicker!

I had a gen 1 MT-09 for a year, sold it and regretted it so bought another one again, a gen 2 a year ago and keeping it. Bought it with a full akro and ECU flashed by previous owner and she is great. I personally prefer nakeds over sport bikes. I ride with a guy who is married to sport bikes, different strokes for different folks.

That's it everyone has there own opinion and likes different things. The bike its self has never let me down and never done anything wrong but I just don't have the want to go out and ride it much. Where on all my other sports bikes the second it ain't raining I want to be out 🤣 I sold my 2014 fireblade and miss that to much and I had a k7 gsxr 750 which was also a great bike in my opinion

For me it is the opposite, I am a die hard naked bike fan and buying a sports bike would be the worst mistake i could make. I find them so uncomforatble and for me the intense wind is a trade off I will happily make if my body can be in comfort.
I have tried riding sports bikes, but every time i almost feel like i am in pain, and even frequently get hip cramps due to the body position.

I am not tall, but have a long back, so wind was always my problem, and why I too moved off naked bikes. I did have a ZX10R for a while, best handling bike I ever rode, but it was way too fast for my needs, and too hard to handle at slow speeds around town (short legs). Bought an M8 Softail Harley. Had to add a decent seat and a front screen. Comfy, no wind problems. But much heavier. With the seat so close to the ground, and mid controls, really easy around town. Dirt cheap to insure (under £100). I have quite a few bikes since doing my full licence a few years back (CBT, Theory, Mod 1, Mod 2), and for me this is the first bike I REALLY like. This one's a keeper for me.

I enjoy your direct, no music no graphics straight to the meat delivery in your video. That’s the way I make videos here in the US about motorcycles. I just get on with it right from the start.
I had a similar dislike for one bike. I had about eight years ago, a Suzuki V Strom, 1000. Perfect all around machine. I put Street only tires on because I was never going to take that thing down some muddy gravel road. It had color matched suzuki hard bags and trunk. it made more power than I need. But the throttle was like an on/off switch. It had no feel.
I was at a busy four-way intersection, and I was in the wrong lane, but I was at the front of the line. I needed to get into the right lane when the light changed. But the guy to my right was creeping forward as though he was very anxious to get rolling… So when I saw the light changing, I clicked into gear, and when the light went green, I pulled a hi rpm slip the clutch, launch. The bike stood straight up unexpectedly. I managed to get it down, but I stalled in the middle of the intersection, because that power came on so unexpectedly. I am used to Big horsepower lots of torque machines, and I’m used to standing starts after eight years of road racing. But the throttle on that suzuki was just too touchy. I never liked it..
As far as your complained about, no feel forks on your MT 09..
I had the same problem/complaint with my BMW K 1200 LT. That was an anti-dive. Weird front end that I never got used to. No feel. I also had a very bad experience with that BMW on a downhill paved road that had loose gravel on it. It was the first time I ever owned a motorcycle with ABS brakes. I was doing about 35 miles an hour going down this road in the middle of nowhere while I was looking for a campground, my friends were camping at. I touched the brakes to keep from picking up speed because of how steep the road was. when I touched the brakes, I had no brakes at all, Front or rear. Nothing. The computer for those ABS brakes took over and sensed that the surface was loose, I had no breaks. I went down that hill, which was a little longer than a football field. Length, there was a 90° turn at the bottom. Luckily, straight ahead through the grass at the bottom was an auto salvage yard, which had an 8 foot high wire fence around it. I ran into the fence which acted like a net stopping me, only breaking my front fender on that 900 pound motorcycle. I sold that bike the following week after my new front fender came in…
I replaced it with a motor Guzzi Norge that had ABS brakes that could be turned off with a push of the button on the dash so I would actually have brakes on slippery surfaces, like gravel, wet grass, snow
someone needs to save us from the people trying to save us..
needless to say, that was my very first and my last BMW. I am not going out on that limb again with BMWs. There were three dealerships within an hour of my home here in Western Pennsylvania. Wanna time, now there are zero dealers. I do all my own work since I used to be a motorcycle mechanic at three different shops years ago. so I can handle pretty much everything but cylinder boring and two-stroke triple crankshaft rebuilding. I don’t have the jigs…
I like the attitude and the approach that you British Riders have. I respect the opinions of British riders because you are more than dry sunny day riders. Just look at this video. You’re riding along on a wet road at a nice clip. I have known many riders. It wouldn’t dream of going riding in case it might rain… I commuted for decades on motorcycles, I would be the guy you would see going to work in a light to moderate rain in the morning on my Honda Pacific coast, which I commuted on for 24 years. And other bikes before that like a KLR 650 with Street only tires, the tall windshield, large plastic military equipment cases for bags.. And heated grips. I tended to sprain the speed limit on that motorcycle more than any other motorcycle I ever commuted on. it was just too much fun on a machine, that light, with street tires, and that much torque up to about 50 miles an hour..
because of the favorable reviews by British writers here on TH-cam, I bought my most recent purchase, a 2010 Honda nt700 deauville. From the original owner with only 7500 miles on it. I actually have it on my TH-cam channel mostly because of a problem and a breakdown I had with it. The owner quit riding years ago and put stabilizer in the fuel tank. The gas mostly evaporated, leaving behind debris from the stabilizer which plugged my fuel filter. In my couple videos about it on TH-cam I show the crap that was in my gas tank that I was able to pump out with a small fuel pump with a filter in line…
I can’t believe all the views I am getting about that machine on my channel.. but I am pleased that the bike is very useful, roomy, comfortable machine with storage room, and a useful fairing. I can’t decide if it’s better than my Honda pacific coast or not.
I have never even seen a Yamaha MT. There used to be 22 motorcycle dealerships within an hour of my home here just north of Pittsburgh Pennsylvania USA. But the dealerships keep going out of business ever since the 1984 Harley Davidson inspired tariff on all imported motorcycles applied by President Ronald Reagan at the request of Harley Davidson.
The motorcycle market never recovered from that. Still 40 years later. Now there are only three dealerships within an hour of my home. That’s why I have never seen that Yamaha you’re riding in this video. but you pointing out that it has a hair trigger on the throttle, and you don’t like the feel of the front end already talk to me half of it. Because that’s the only reason I got rid of my V Strom, 1000. Hair trigger and a very light fly wheel
I enjoyed this video, and I will be checking out your other videos on your other channels too. Thanks.

Bought the MT 09 2023 and haven’t looked back. Good power and fast, great quick shifter, and isn’t a snatchy throttle. Wind is an issue on naked bikes but aside from that hell of a bike and specs not matched by most at its price point. There is a reason it’s incredibly popular, but not everyone enjoys a naked bike.

I happen to hate the MT however its more due to the people who buy them in my country all happen to not have full access to their mental facilities . + As a bike for the street it just happens to be more about fooling arround rather than an actual day to day driver but its probably something that can be ironed out with a change of driving style .

I regret selling almost every bike I've sold. BUT.....I only regret buying one bike. I did not enjoy my GSXR 750. Sure, it had crazy power and speed.....but it was extremely uncomfortable to ride, and ....to be honest...too boring most of the time. When I ride, it's mostly commuting and that bike was almost always in 1st gear or second. very boring in town while being uncomfortable. Riding on the highway was an instant blast...for short trips. bad shoulders and tight hips make the tight rider triangle a nightmare for long rides.
With that said...I would buy another as a SECOND bike. something that I'd hop on, go do a couple ludicrous speed runs, and go park it in the garage so I can ride a more comfortable ride.

Ummm, but it IS the bikes fault! I refer to your observation that the front end gives poor feedback, that you aren't so confident because of this. The gen1 mt09 is well known to have sketchy front end feedback. It's allegedly fixed in later gen' & the feedback is like day & night because of it. Same with the jerky throttle. There are other handling issues w/ the gen1 which likewise are fixed in following gen.
