I have a 4 hour time on dread mode with over 300 deaths. I then went and tried to speedrun normal and hard mode, getting a time just over 3 hours. I like to think dread mode taught me a lot about how to not be an idiot
32:11 You can do the Pseudo wave method for the early space jump. I did it in my playthrough of Dread mode. You just need to damage the enemy enough so it dies when you deflect the shot to activate the skip. :) It took me 2-3 deaths to figure that one out lol.
@@ExtremeAce That seems a lot riskier lol. I think I have had that happen only a small handful of times when doing this skip, but I usually take a hit when dropping down.

@@ExtremeAce I've alweays stayed morphed until I get low enough to shoot the small enemies. More often than not I take a hit, and sometimes get pushed to the left when taking that hit. I think that happens when I manage to hit the enemy directly lol.
I'm so excited to see how boss rush mode works. Does it have difficulty settings? How do they decide how many items like E tanks and missile tanks you'll have for the bosses? Are those 2 tied together, meaning the difficulty also decides how much energy and how many missiles you get at each boss? I can't wait to find out.

If your computer has an 1/8" line in (my motherboard does) you can get an 1/8" TRS cable and go from the headphone output on the switch into PC. Should get a separate channel in OBS to mix game sound.

Oats, i'd suggest waiting for the Valve Index 2, there are a lot of things wrong with the Index quality wise, as much as i want one dealing with warranties is a pain in the ass. I suggest you look into it.

The thing I don't understand: Why are there still E-tanks in dread mode when everything kills you in 1 hit anyway? Sure, you can collect them for a 100% run, but they could be also removed and you could collect everything else to still get 100% items. But one thing would be really nice to watch: a low percent run in dread mode!
Well, i've made a 0% hardmode run a while ago, and basically anything 1 hit killed me, but also i had no missiles for Raven Beak, so it was actually harder than Dread mode lol

You gotta be careful with the screw attack and the pseudo screw attack. When Hardpelicn was doin it, it didn't always kill the enemies and a lot of times you die when it should kill the enemy.. Like screw attacking one of the little birds, etc.
What I love about this mode is that I feel like not having hot/cold rooms and lava instantly kill you is done intentionally. Like some of the chat said THAT IS ENVIRONMENTAL DAMAGE, but I feel like they did this on purpose coz they know that speed runners use running through hot/cold rooms and taking damage in current routes and they don't want to mess them up.

It's something in one of his 57 videos he made on the subject so unless you watch them all you probably miss it but he really acted like an asshole and a bully at one point just ripping Metroid fans and that just did it for me.. He deserved every second of backlash he got from people. So it never feels like bullying to me.. it just feels like beating a dead horse. But I still had to tweet at him saying that after not playing the game for 3 months I still beat Hard Mode without getting lost and also I noticed all the destructible blocks are super obvious.. BTW .. I think maybe they changed the blocks for him? They seem a lot more obvious than they used to be.. Can anyone confrim this?

Not even, you can with good positioning just fall through the fire without taking damage.

Heat and cold damage doesn't kill you instantly, so it's still useful if you want to get early screw attack
