  • Taking our vintage double decker buses our for a run. Its not all work and no play as we take part in Drive It Day organised by the FBHVC - Federation of British Historic Vehicle Clubs.
Drive It Day was created by the Federation of British Historic Vehicle Clubs in 2005 as a chance to get historic vehicles of all shapes, sizes and types out in use and seen by the public. It’s a statement of national importance because, not only does it ensure that our transport heritage continues as a moving, working, living experience, but also raises awareness of the size, importance and contribution that the historic vehicle movement makes to the world.”
Drive it Day is also raising money for Childline and if you would like to support this charity the link below will tale you their just giving page...

    About Us:
Based in Wrexham, North Wales and Serving Cheshire, the North West, North Wales and North Shropshire we are an independent family run business; we are proud to have the privilege of owning one of London’s most recognisable sights - the iconic London Routemaster Double Decker Bus!
Our beautifully restored red London double-decker buses are available for Weddings and Special Events, they add some nostalgic novelty and a touch of class to any occasion.

All our buses are the iconic Routemaster London Double-Decker bus; each vehicle has been beautifully restored back to the original 1960's condition. With immaculate paint and bodywork, they are real head-turners. Inside they are equally pleasing with comfortable re-upholstered seats and authentic 1960s colour scheme; the interior paintwork is complemented by varnished wooden floors and tungsten lighting which create a warm homely glow inside the bus.

That Lodekker brought back memories of Brentwood (Essex) in the glorious 1960’s when they were on local routes 262 and 252 - good-old days at Eastern National (BD) Brentwood Depot.

Love the BL, it looks superb. I grew up with them on the 80 and 80A and have great memories of riding on them.

Fond memories of the BLs on the 251 out of the original Edgware bus garage. As well as a few Sundays accompanying my brother to the garage to take photos of the EW BL fleet! (Really must get his archive online). Great work on the preservation, would be good to see some vids on that too,

Unfortunately most of the work on the BL was done before we started producing videos, however Im sure we will record any future work so watch this space...

Surprised at how many "NEW" Buses are already being scrapped - especially the Electric ones. Of course - Living in Canada, we know that batteries are not good in the cold, (especially when it gets down to -40) and are basically useless after 3-4 years here - and new batteries often cost more than a whole new vehicle! Teslas are a SUMMER ONLY vehicle here!

So many memories of home flooded back when I saw RM2213 blinded as a 3. It would have run through Brixton in the years I lived there and being LT staff I went everywhere by public transport, and along with many passengers at the time would choose an RM operated route over an opo one. Probably travelled on that bus. I wonder if it ever ran on the 35 or other routes operated out of Walworth?
Nice to see the buses out and about, the lodekka also resonated with me a little, the local operator where I spent much of my childhood had quite a number of *FM plated exCrosville buses in the fleet, the Lodekkas being an older model lacking the upper deck grilles

Keep the livery on RM 2213. The white roundel looks so iconic on them.
Excellent presentations on the buses backgrounds by the owners. Thank you.

I never realised Tim had his own bus too! What's not surprising though is the condition it's in. Given its owner, I wouldn't have expected anything else.
P.S. Last time I drove a bus was back in 1996, when I quit driving them after 10 years service. Now, since watching your videos, I'm stuck with an overwhelmingly nostalgic desire to drive one again - preferably out of service this time!
