Do you recommend having an LLC before opening an etsy shop or Shopify store?

I would create an LLC after you get momentum going with whatever you’re selling or your niche is.
Unless you create an LLC with a broad enough name to fit any niche or product that ends up working.
Ive since administratively dissolved 3 llcs over over the years to avoid paying the yearly renewal fees totaling up to hundreds.

That's exactly right, on whatever platform you sell your products on, you just list instructions
