Hi Gina ! Another excellent video. One important thing I’ve learned from you is to brush through my entire hair. It does make a difference. I learn something new every video. 😻
Thanks for the video. I don’t have this hair type and my hair type is also different from yours. I am medium to course texture with more medium to thick density. I do think some of your recommendations are universal for other curlies and will look at incorporating some with my routine. As always, I find your advice is very thorough and detailed. Love how you mix up products to include some affordable items. Have a great week.
Mine is WAY naturally frizzier and can't get those soft looking curls she's shown in the pics unless I use rollers to smooth out my frizz. And I'm not even a type 4. The hair types in this video look more like type 2's to me.
An issue I have is when I try toweling at the end before diffusing, it seems to undo all progress I made with curl clumps. They are defined when wet, but if I towel it afterward, the clumps can start to part and frizz. The same thing can happen if i diffuse or use hair spray. I'll incorporate some of these techniques you've shown, but getting clumps even with a curl brush and drying continues to be a challenge.... I can get wet frizz and stringy curls.
I’ve been using Ouidad pumps climate control as my last step and is amazing. My hair low density and gives great curls that last 4 days without retouching, if I have too the shake and shine is awesome too
I just tried my detangling brush and separating my hair with clips to brush style. Best wash day I've had in almost 6 months. Let's see if it holds up now. Thank you!!
You are a master with that brush. I have the original one. But, I'm still trying to master it.🤪 And...I'm still trying to work with a cowlick at the back of the crown.
I struggle to find products for my fine hair, which is turning gray. It is very curly, coarse, loose, and soft on the outer layer, with frizz by my temples. I have never been able to go more than a day without wetting my hair, and I have never been successful with diffusing. The best product I used for years was Diva until they changed. I am currently using Aveda but not totally happy with the product. My hair is shedding way too much daily. I tried the curl jelly curl and my hair went completely limp and became too soft. Can you point me to a video that can help me?
Hi there. My hair is like yours except fully gray and thick. I had the same issues as you though. I have found that using products with protein makes all the difference in the world. My absolute favorite is Brieogeo curl charisma line. That curl cream and gel is never talked about but I’m here to tell you to give it a try. The shampoo and conditioner is also amazing and I can tell when I switch it up to something else. The grays are much better controlled also. ❤
What does everybody do at bedtime? Unfortunately I move a lot at night time so no matter how good my hair looks when I go to bed it will look frizzy when I get up. Silk pillowcases? Bonnets? I always have to refresh the next morning 😕 Honestly ... Most nights I resort to putting my hair up in a messy bun at bedtime 😬🤷🏼♀️
Another great video! I started using a mousse and get great results. I do glaze a little of watered down Quidad hard hold get after micro plopping to get a little more hold.
Your hair ss ms pretty consistent in texture around your head. I have 3 totally different textures making it almost impossible to just use one straight product
Very informative!! I have been wanting to try the Curlsmith hairspray for frizz. I haven't tried because when I use the Shake and Shine for refresh day 2 hair, it looks great for a few hours, but by the end of the day, I have a huge halo of frizz much larger than I started with before adding the product to the hair. I love how it feels on my hair, but I don't love the huge amount of frizz. How does the hairspray compare to the Shake and Shine?
My curls are silky on the top but hold the curl better there and by the last 5-6 inches my hair is super dry and my curl always falls out, can you suggest anything to help the continuity of my curls from top to bottom? I wash every day with the AG Care Apple Cider Vinegar shampoo and conditioner and then put in a small amount of the Curlsmith Weightless Air Dry Cream then finish with a Garnier mousse, that one seems to keep my curls on top better than anything else I’ve tried. Thanks!
I prefer to brush style with a lightweight curl cream that seems to have some grit and then I glaze a hard hold gel using roping and scrunching then I microplop and dry on low heat
I have a question about the brush styling you're doing. Thank you for showing the full effect of that. I have very fine hair that just a little past my armpits. Any kind of wet brushing (except for a detangling brush in the shower with conditioner) seems to diminish my curls drastically. However I have not tried the bounce curl brush (Is that what you're using?) I scrunch in my gel put it up in a microfiber towel then blow dry using the bowl blow dryer. I get decent curls that last at least 2 days. My question is a brush really makes a difference and It would be worth it to give this brush a chance?
She's using the bounce curl volume brush. There's also the original bounce curl defining brush that makes larger curl clumps. What other styling brushes have you tried that didn't work? I think the key is the tension combined with making smooth curl clumps, but my hair is more wavy than curly, so even tho I have one, I haven't actually used it. 😂
Thank you for the recommendation to style on damp instead of soaking wet hair. I have been having issues keeping my style on my wavy hair longer than 6 hours even with adding protein and clarifying. My waves lasted all day and into the next day. The only issue I have is my crown section looks weird in the morning and kind of stays that way because of how I am protecting my curls at night. Would love more information on sleep protection that would suit longer hair. I have tried an adjustable bonnet as well as a buff. I wish there was another way that was acne safe!
What’s a good clarifying shampoo if you have colored hair? I got purple highlights a few months ago and I haven’t been clarifying my hair because I know that that strips color out, but I still want to clarify my hair.
Try, believe it or not, Pantene volume and Body. It has clarifying ingredients and is good for colored hair. No, it really doesn't give me more volume and body, but the ingredients are that of a clarifying shampoo🤷♀️Go figure!
The Mielle one I used in the video is color safe because it’s sulfate free. Another good one is the Ouidad water works which is also color safe: amzlink.to/az0Ib2ozqOyXN
I have low porosity, low density and I feel like I have to condition lots to keep moisture in my hair I have to scrunch it to penetrant my low density. Any help?
This gel gave me great hold and volume but i absolutely cannot stand the way it feels in my hair. I have diluted it, used less, etc. It feels so gunky the next day.
I use hairspray some days and don't wash the next day. I can go 5+ days with or without the hairspray and can refresh with the hairspray. I've heard some people say hairspray makes their hair feel gummy when they try to refresh, but I haven't personally had that problem.
You had mentioned before you sent your hair to a lab to find out your hair texture, but I can’t find the video maybe it’s not even true. Do you remember saying this?
Hi Gina ! Another excellent video. One important thing I’ve learned from you is to brush through my entire hair. It does make a difference. I learn something new every video. 😻
Maybe you could share one of your curl coaching sessions? That would be fun to see how they go.
Yeah second this
I LOVE that you incorporated more specific details for wavy hair. Thank you!!❤

try using a microfiber towel or cotton t-shirt
The curl coaching sounds like just what I'm needing!
I have the same kind of hair as you and your technique worked for me. Thank you so much Gena♥ Coaching sessions are a great idea.
Looking forward to my coaching session later today! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 I used these tips when I washed my hair last night, so I can’t wait to talk about it!

Hi what do you use? I have fine low density
I just tried my detangling brush and separating my hair with clips to brush style. Best wash day I've had in almost 6 months. Let's see if it holds up now. Thank you!!
Thank you! Very helpful for us fine curly\wavy girls.❤️

I agree 💯 It’s amazing.

Also…..Aveda was awesome until I realized just how heavy it was on my hair. Haven’t used it since.
@@carmenjaco6007Thanks for the tips! Grey curlies aren't as mainstream as they should be...yet 😉

All the above- hair up in a pineapple and sleep on a real silk pillowcase. Can use a silk scarf or bonnet

Your hair ss ms pretty consistent in texture around your head. I have 3 totally different textures making it almost impossible to just use one straight product
My niece also has 3 textures. She found 3 different products and just uses them in different sections. It’s very successful technique for her.
If my curls aren’t dry on a certain day should I skip a leave in?

Thanks for information.
I Could not find the link to the other ladies video in your lower section of the video?
Here you go: www.youtube.com/@SwavyCurlyCourtney
Can you just use the leave in with it give definition and hold
Which ingredients make a shampoo chelating versus just a clarifying shampoo?
Great question, and I'd love to know the answer!
Cheating ingredients bind to the minerals.(I was a chemistry geek) like EDTA, citric acid, charcoal, phytic acid, and baking soda is a weak one.
Do you have any product recommendations for texturizers?

Great method too!

what !!!!
Not to bad, not bad at all 😊🎉
I have the same struggle. I also benefit from doing everything upside down and scrunching in products.
@@cwlj16 same here, always looking for something better but this is my go-to
Thank you for the recommendation to style on damp instead of soaking wet hair. I have been having issues keeping my style on my wavy hair longer than 6 hours even with adding protein and clarifying. I have to dry the no leave in and use gel and hairspray because I get zero cast
Great video!
I have naturally curly hair but it is very thin and wavy. Whenever I do apply products it turns frizzy. Are there any tips I should follow?
Would the dove be good for high porosity hair?
Gena, what lipstick and nail polish are you wearing!? Have wanted something just like those shades.
P.S. I have very similar colouring to you.
Hi! Lipstick is Tarte in the shade "Lotus" bit.ly/3vcgb2z
Nail polish is Essie "Caught in the Rain" amzlink.to/az0GYJ7ixkyUo

@ that’s perfect. I don’t like a lot of volume anyway

I love that my hair is soft but I don’t want frizz, can I have softness and less frizz? How
I hate the sticky (glue like feel) and straw like result of mousses.
I have low porosity, low density and I feel like I have to condition lots to keep moisture in my hair I have to scrunch it to penetrant my low density. Any help?
My problem is that when I do use gel and do these tricks my hair gets dry and then tangled super easily
This gel gave me great hold and volume but i absolutely cannot stand the way it feels in my hair. I have diluted it, used less, etc. It feels so gunky the next day.
Doesn't using a hair spray mean you have to wash the day after?
Good question! I'd love to know thus as well!
I use hairspray some days and don't wash the next day. I can go 5+ days with or without the hairspray and can refresh with the hairspray. I've heard some people say hairspray makes their hair feel gummy when they try to refresh, but I haven't personally had that problem.
❤❤❤
My biggest issue is losing so much hair every time I wash or style.
You had mentioned before you sent your hair to a lab to find out your hair texture, but I can’t find the video maybe it’s not even true. Do you remember saying this?
I thought your hair was fine
