Hey Captain Drone, I'm not sure if you still review low price toy drones. But I have to recommend the Syma X110w if you've never tried it. The one shaped like a flying soda can. I got it for $40 down from $70 on Amazon. It has by far the longest flight time of anything I have at that price point nearly 20 minutes per battery. For flying around the house its awesome. Like most toys I don't recommend taking it outside though unless there is zero wind.
It is a very cool and different drone! I have been following Ukraine's use of drones in defending themselves against the Russian invasion, and I am pretty sure I have seen them using this drone for recon purposes. They already use a lot of DJI equipment, so they are already familiar with the systems, and it is an ideal style of drone that allows them a long duration flight for recon, along with the ability to hover if they find something they want to take a closer look at. Thanks for the look at it!
Ah Ha! When the 4 ship of geese file an air miss report before the senior FAA (Featherd Aviation Authority), the one that only admits proffessionals and has a massive number of members, the owl in charge will consider performance and situation. Although the ZMO is big, the geese are likely to be 4 times heavier and have a larger wingspan. The geese have a higher wing loading which reduces manoeuverability at approach speed. It looks possible that they intended to land on the tree surrounded pond using the approach from the river as other directions required too steep a glide path to stabilze the approach before touchdown. In Cheshire we have a pond used by many species of bird but with an even more restricted approach for geese. The geese use audio anticollision with strobe honking down to the missed approach point and observe higher visibility limits. As for the circumstances, 4 geese are a bigger picture than 1 ZMO, the ZMO was coming out of the sun and the ZMO did not alter its flight path while the geese right turn may or may not have been for avoidance. The ZMO was self declared to be exercising the undeniable enotional delights of low flying and acknowledging the increased risks that come with it while the geese can only be presumed to be about getting their daily bread. The Junior FAA/CAA would get as much emotional delight out of persecution using such circumstantial material as the low flyer does but I fancy the rules in the book have yet to enable such a case as this. To the senior FAA, this is just crossing the street. From my experience you seldom see the ones you collide with ; I am sure the departed feathered spirits would say similar except for claiming we hit them which seems fair. Isn't it exciting when you do see them though the scope is a lot wider when you don't? Fitting a microphone and a honker is not yet mandatory and may not even be a good idea.
Very cool VTOL! I was not surprised at the price. Honestly it's no more than the least expensive DJI Mavic drone. Are you planning on getting the upgraded model? If you do, make another video comparing the two and show us how much nicer the new one is! Thanks for sharing!
Nice but the big thing now is, how much does it weigh with the battery? Since I know this doesn't have a RID on it and to be compliant you have to have it if your drone or fixed wing weighs more than 250grams aka 0.55LBS.
Greetings Steve, always enjoy your ZMO vtol plane vlogs. Under mild conditions would also be a cheap search & rescue drone for a volunteer group alongside a DJI Mavic pro. I wondered if it was worth reaching out to the manufacturer or distributor for a clog collaboration with the latest version? Thanks for all your awesome videos; have a great Easter when it arrives, J
Ugh this plane was a massive disappointment for me. I swapped the FC but haven't got around to programming it. Once I get it programmed I'm sure it will be my favorite drone I own it's definitely epic but the electronics it shipped with and firmware not allowing you to modify was a big oversight. Felt like they wanted to be dji their firmware wasn't anywhere near dji though. So this drone is on my shelf waiting for me to program it did all the hardware stuff already. Got it running elrs and analog not big on digital.
Im really interested in this drone but have read too many stories such as yours which is keeping me from getting it. At this price I don’t want to have to put a new FC and/or electronics in it. It should work as advertised out of the box.
@@darrenph1 just get the heewing VTOL kit better price I think it's smaller though. If this airframe was $500 ish it would be reasonably priced but it's a little much for what you get. Should have used standard FC not proprietary 🤷🏼♂️
$1200 is not much considering pricing everything out individually if your into the hobby you would know the cost of goggles alone i have skyzone 04x and those alone are $700 i paid just know one thing about that $1200 everything is already programmed in the flight controller which is a major headache i upload videos of my own flying i have years of experience
Use 1.2ghz for video you’ll never go back to 5.8ghz just use a linearly polarized antenna on the transmitter only maybe 2-3 inches long and thin no real weight
I have crashed my ZMO once, simply because I didn't know that you could speed up or slow down the landing. But I wanted to let you know (if you didn't already) that BuddyRC put out a video on fixing the VTOL motor settings using the DJI remote. (Debugging they called it) th-cam.com/video/fMHE11luhT4/w-d-xo.html ,, I would like the ZMO pro but can't justify another big purchase like that... Thanks for the videos, they help a lot.
No my dad passed away in 1999 but after he sold the stinson he built a zenith took him 4 years to build it he sold that plane Cuz his eye sight was getting bad so they didn't renew his pilot license.
This is a VTOL and every VTOL on earth needs to be made out of the same light material required for an RC Plane. So that means foam, balsa, or in some cases, space age foam/plastic.
@CAPTAINDRONE798 I could accept plastic. That Parrot Bebop sucked though. The lens/sensor was on the nose, and if it took a dive for whatever reason, it would be ruined. I ruined a couple that way.
I follow your channel cause I enjoy the way you present RC products. Laughing about my mistakes is strongly appreciated in my home. Apparently you don't mind showing yourself in a similar way; which is not for much people the case on this platform. 🔥👏🏻
That's very cool...kind of a cross between a drone/regular rc plane
Excellent video. The ZMO is really nice. Thank you Captain Steve.
Well done Captain!!; hmmmm, another variation of dual purpose Drones? RC Planes ? not quite sure where to put this however liked it a lot !!!!!
Saw you on Trim/Valin and near the Timmies this morning heading to what I assume was Millennium Park.
Was flying/crashing RC planes at Millennium with a few other guys this morning (always fun times).
@@CAPTAINDRONE798I like the crashing part :P
Wish that I didn't have to work this morning, I coulda met you in person.
Amazing as always ❤
Hands-down, you were my favorite to watch
Thank you!
Great video Steve
Great review. I'm going to have to look into one of those. I just have to keep an eye out for those sneaky Canadian geese in my airspace. 😁

So far I have no plans to upgrade
Vtol! Really want one of these.
Good video and the crashes were very entertaining 😂. Captain Drone is human after all. 👍👍😀
We're can I get one, is it expensive..please let me know more... Joe mann..

The weight is written on the screen in the video. Watch again.
Steve your job is a drone pilot. How often do you need to crash before your considered a liability 😂
A near miss with a goose is such a Canadian thing to happen.
Music is similar to Tangerine Dream. Reminded me slightly of the soundtrack to the movie Risky Business. Train sequence :)
In the 1980s a large number of popular movies had their soundtrack by Tangerine Dream. I’m a big fan of their music.
GEEESE!
This is awesome can you get in the uk? Thanks for the video
I’m sure some hobby store in the UK has access to it

Morning ❤
Just took a maiden flight with mine. Though it came with a 6 cell battery. Any idea if there is a 3rd gen? And my lord the software is complex
No idea… I still fly the old first gen
Wanna fly it in my neighborhood....my neighbors gonna be really relaxed....XD...
Towards the end, those are not birds, but in fact they are Canadian cobra chicken.
