- A video showing what I reguard as my four favourite pipes. I tried to make it three favourites, but decided that was too difficult so settled for four. Probably at another time, I would pick four different ones, but this is my choice right now.
Rewatching Alan, a real gentleman. Love his videos.

Justin Cox did Alan Die?
Yes sadly a few years ago
RIP Alan you were a very sweet person that I would have Absolutely loved too meet.
Seems a very nice man. Only seen a few of his videos and I already miss him. RIP good sir.

@@lilfrezzy456 Natural causes I assume.
its a shame he had to go when he did
@@CarpeDiem-bu3lz i think he had a type of cancer that got him sadly
It's interesting how our favorite things a not always the most expensive or nicest looking.
I too have a difficult time picking my "favorite" pipes. When I do I end up feeling like I am cheating on my other pipes!
Cheers,
Kel
Hallo Alan, Mr. Brog is real a good and cheap pipe. I own 2 of them, each made from Irish wild pear wood, and I pay 12 € for the new pipe. Take a look at Ebay Germany, the seller is in Hamburg, selling each week.Alan one question, how is your english dialect called? I like how he sounds. I am speaking bavarian, a dialect spoken around munich and along the alps and parts of Austria. All my best wishes to you Edward
Miss you friend
Such a well made and interesting video. I didn't know Eastern Europeans could make pipes that beautiful, and good smokers too. Thanks for showing us your favourite pipes!
A great man God bless you
I love your accent and for that very reason I could easily find myself watching your videos all day long! :-) Nice pipe!
The Meerschaum pipe could be one of my favorites too !!!
Thanks for sharing
cheers Reinhard
This was so relaxing to watch..
I didn‘t realise...RIP old mate 😟
So many thanks for this video. Hope you are smoking your favorites in heaven. I also like the mr brogs pipes.
Two things I did after watching this video: Bought that exact same Mr. Brog! Then, changed my pipe packing method, and I've got to say, its a revelation. I've had so many problems on properly packing a pipe until this video. I've had about 3 or so smokes since watching this, and every pipe has stayed lit almost the entire time! Thank you, for both the pipe suggestion and the tips on pipe packing!
Very nice. I love all my expensive pipes just as much as the corn cob. I can see how hard it would be, to pick three or four as my favorite. -Johann .H

Alan, may I ask how long you have owned the 2 mr. brog pipes? I ask because I want one kind sir. :)
Really lovely old guy RIP Al
Very nice presentation of your favorite pipes !
The Churchwarden is what I ordered by the way.
This was great!
I love Alan, I truely Hope that He is doing well
Mr. Brog, corn cobs.... is this a joke? These are toys, not pipes.
No Shelby, you’re the joke.
So what does my $120 Peterson to a $500 Dunhill make? Yeah, shut the fuck up.
T. Shelby if it smokes well, it doesn't matter the price or name
It's a matter of different point of views. When I buy a pipe, I buy also an instrument of intrinsic value, charm and durability. A briar pipe is for life, often for more than one life. Moreover, briar creates a unique commingling between the wood and the tobacco you smoke in.
You will not find all these things in any corn cob or pear pipe, that have also a limited life.
And no, it's not a matter of price. I have about 20 pipes, Dunhill, Charatan, Peterson, Astley's, Upshall, Comoy's, Ben Wade, etc... almost all pre-smoked. some of them vintage, too (all sanitized, obviously)... and I spent more than 50 € only one or two times! Ebay is an inexhaustible source of these bargains.
In simple terms, I definitely can buy corn cob and pear pipes and smoke them with pleasure... but this video talks about FAVOURITE pipes, the BEST pipes you have, do you understand what I mean? And to define a pipe as the best I have, I should consider some more parameters than "it smokes well" (but that's only my opinion).
I don't know if I'm able to explain my point of view, I know my english is not perfect.
I explained better my pov with the comment before. Just read it! You will discover I did not mean that's a matter of price!
