Finally finishing a cross stitch i made for my wife and I's first christmas together. This is the perfect solution. And definitely using this for my next projects!
The back of your work is neater than the front of mine! So good! I am finishing my first wee project and am using your method. Thank you for making it clear and easy to follow!
What a beautiful way to finish my cross stitch! I used the blanket stitch and LOVE the results! Also, your video was SO easy to follow and YOU have a wonderful camera presence! Thanks SO much!
thank you for this simple tutorial! I've saved this video and reference it every time I need to finish the backing of a project (still a newb, here.). Thank you!
This was so helpful! Just finished off my first cross stitch and it's not great but I understand the process and know how to do it better the next time. I have a set of 11 cross stitches to finish and now that I know how, I guess I can't put it off any longer lol
Ty for the video; i'm a beginner and didn't know what to do when I was finished with a project, lol. And ty for the beautiful and FREE pattern! Now, how do I get my back as perfect as yours? It's a tangled mess 🤦♀️😆
I think so! I've never tried it before. But I think the only "problem" would be maybe some bulkiness at the corners. If that happens, you could try cutting a slit at the corners so the material overlaps rather than folding up and bunching to help it lay a little flatter! I'd love to hear how it goes if you do try it out!
What is your favorite way to finish your cross stitch project?
🤗 I don’t do very large pieces and I don’t have a very large house. Space is limited so I usually make pillows, also easier to store.
Pillows are a great idea! Definitely on my to do list!

Are you supposed to leave the outer ring on when you’re done with your project?
Thank you so much for this amazing tutorial! I just had a question, would this work if I’m using a rectangular hoop?
I think so! I've never tried it before. But I think the only "problem" would be maybe some bulkiness at the corners. If that happens, you could try cutting a slit at the corners so the material overlaps rather than folding up and bunching to help it lay a little flatter!

@@HaileyStitches I hadn’t even thought of that thank you! I’ll make sure to let you know how it turns out!
Do you use stiff felt or just regular felt? Thank you for your video!
Regular felt!
great tutorial🤩! What other fabrics can I use instead of felt ?
You can use any fabric! A patterned flannel or cotton would be lovely.
Thank you 💗💖
Do you wash your canvas? I use Aida but it is always so stiff.
I don’t because I like the stiffness but I know a lot of people do!
@@HaileyStitches makes sense! When the fabric is too soft it’s harder to get even stitches. It’s harder to cinch in when finishing it though.
This didn’t work. What am I doing wrong?! 😢
Great tutorial. Thank you!🧵🪡
