Ye previous owner told me they were 272s so I thought it would have solid lifters as well. Couldnt find any numbers on the cams to say what duration they were. Because the cams were big it doesn't have much vacuum at idle and it's harder to push the break pedal. The engine is Strocked to 2.2l but was pretty gutless till the turbo came on. Old turbo setup gt 3037 .73ar wouldn't come on till 4500rpm
@@yd2532 How would you say it feels now? I have a stock SR pretty much with a t28, I use the car for a lot of just driving around nothing serious, and wanted to see if these poncams were worth it.
I can't notice much difference down low compared to my mates s14 cause this engine is Strocked to 2.2l. but just means it'll feel like a s13 down low. The old cams were pretty aggressive so I'd assume it has very stiff springs which would wear out the vct gear pretty fast.
@@yd2532 ok, about to SR swap my 350z and definitely don’t want to lose mid torque. So just deciding what to do, might have to go with a similar cam and just stock up on VCTs hahaha
@@johnnon6583 ye definitely keep the vct. 256 cams are plenty you won't loose much down low or mid. If you do need to change the valave springs just make sure you don't go over kill or it'll wear the gears out super fast
@@yd2532 ok what springs are you running? Tempted to go with 95lbs dual valve springs. Have you got the tomei stroker, apparently can cause bottom end warp?
@@johnnon6583 thats prety stiff. Prety sure the stock ones are around 48lbs. And ye tomei strocker Im not reving mine hard, 7k revlimit so bottom end is sweet.
Nah just the normal single guide shim and flat shim. I try not to bounce off the limiter much and its got fuel cut limiter to help prevent a rocker arm from coming off
@@teamfaroye.motorsport.5660 the most important thing is that the shims are set to the right heights if they arnt the same hight youll be popping rockers all the time even if you do dual guide shims

How do you find the solid sprocket compared to VCT?
