When you consider that players like Sbu Nkosi and Seabelo Senatla can't even make the training squad it speaks volumes about the depth of talent in S. A.
Sad Seabela is struggling with injury... not sure if he would be able to play rugby again.... Great sevens player of all time.... 👌💪💯he had speed, step.... an so much more... It were an absolute pleasure watching him and all he's team mates playing in the final.... came from behind and won the Cup agains Fiji.... I think it was 2019..... Greatest final ever... Defensive and offensive players can often play both realms. Some back line players can play forward and some forwards can play backline. It's an essential part of South Africa's tactics - especially the ratio therein on the bench. We are playing 7 forwards on the bench and 1 back this coming RWC game against Ireland. The idea os to habe more forwards to tire out the oppositions forwards by being able to bring the 7 fresh forwards off the bench to continuously tire out the opposition's forwards. But secretly, it might be that some of the 7 benched forwards habe the versatility to replace backline players off the bench. Every player has a role throughout the game and the versatility of our players enables the spread of ability needed at points along the timeline during a certain strategy against a target opposition. SA team know each other so well they can fit into different roles in this way...
