This is without a doubt one of the BEST setup videos (for anything) that I have seen on TH-cam! You did an excellent job clearly and concisely showing every aspect of the setup. Nothing (that I can think of) was omitted. I am currently deciding to finally bring my 1000's+ vinyl records out of the basement and set up a new turntable & speaker rig. Things have changed a lot in the 25 or more years that I moved to cd. I am looking at the Audio-Technica AT-LP120XBT-USB-BK Wireless Direct-Drive Turntable so your video really showed me what to expect, as well as how to wire directly from turntable to powered speakers (which is new to me). Thanks for a great setup video.

Tavis. I am living in Québec where I was trying to buy this same turntable but the «copper« one. But silver was a debate here with my wife. I wanted to find a clip of a person who opens this box. And there you are. Congratulations ! You are calm. You take your time and speak with a warm tone, a warm voice. You explain very very well, step by step, until you use an Lp or a vinyl. I just bought this turntable too, and when I first set up the speakers I had it on phono and it wasn’t playing very loud at all. Like you could barely hear it from just the other room, even with the volume all the way up. Then I remembered that you switched it from phono to Line in your video so I did the same, and the volume gets much louder and sounds much better now

I believe the phono output is for an old-school connection where you're running the table into a separate preamp, and then to a good receiver/amplifier, etc., otherwise, the Line out is the one you want.
I just got this turntable a few days ago and this really helped me, I had it on the factory setting and didn't know I needed to make adjustments. Now my turntable works like a champ - thanks!

Tavis makes a great video here, and a REAL important point he makes (and I overlooked this in my haste and excitement of unboxing this!) is to be aware that you have all the little the important items from the stylophone packaging/box - I made 3 separate trips to get the box back from the loft to get everything out that I’d missed! It’s so easy to overlook! Superb video Tavis, hope you’re well.
AT taped the parts to the back side of the styrofoam. At a quick glance, I thought parts were missing!

I bought the AT-LP120XUSB with the same CR3 speakers (bundled deal from Amazon). The turntable is black and blends sharply with the speakers. Excellent turntable and speakers for the price point. Your video made set-up so easy. I watched your video and was listening to Sade in less than five minutes. Thank you!

Just got my new AT-LP120XUSB a few days ago. Euphoria is a good word for it. I haven't set up a new turntable since the 1980s.
Might be a dumb one for you , but i ain't got speakers only headphones , do that work as well . would be grateful for the help. i REALLY want to get one, thanks !
@@faihu you will need either powered speakers or an amp and passive speakers. The turntable alone doesn't put out the juice for headphones.

I went on to enjoy your later videos too. Very helpful. Do you have any input (now) on the speakers? I know you were talking about upgrading to the BT model. I have a big JBL BT speaker but i feel like it loses some of the analog sound. Wouldn’t mind finding something a little “older” sounding but still hi-fi with some modern tech to it. Appreciate your input!

Now to the subject: I'm watching videos such as these to help in my purchasing decision.
I currently own an AT-LP60 which I've had for almost a year. I'm thinking about picking up the LP120XUSB as an upgrade. Several of my records, some brand new, just have a bit too much distortion--immediately recognizably worse than MP3/lossy formats! Many records, so I am skeptical to assume that all of them are simply bad pressings
Given that this seems far superior with a removable/upgradable cartridge and needle, and your demo in this video, it may just have me sold for this TT. I might just be talking myself into my own decision now, so I digress lol.
Again though, well done. Excellent set-up and review!

Great set up tutorial!! Is there any apealers you'd recommend that come with built in amplifier or how do I find the right set up for speakers
I'm still waiting on my stuff in the mail, but from what i've been recommended and what ive ordered are the edifier r1280t speakers. they are $100USD and they apparently have amazing sound quality. Also they are supposedly compatable with the audio technica lp120xusb without need for any inbetween device. Hopefully this helps but like i said, my parts will still take a few days to arrive so i cant confirm

I have no instructions at all i think l just installed the thing today did not open the plastic folder but looks like there safety instructions only. Weird. They could give suggestions on maintenance etc. Even for the arm balance i used a you tube video from AT
