Mixes like this is what makes me miss the Golden Era of the RPGs. The music was just so on point and set the tone of a scene perfectly and Lufia 2 was probably one of the best examples of that on the SNES. Great remix. Always love Zircon's work when I see it pop up on OCR.
I am not familiar with this track as I have not played Lufia 2 sadly, but listening to this makes me want to find an emulator ASAP! Legit blend of sounds Zircon! ^ ^
Yep, this is the most excellent remix to my all-time favourite final boss theme ever... I love the slow burn this has. Thank you so very much for remixing this theme ingrained into my memory and will never die away. 0:22 and at 2:12 goosebumps up and down the spine... That's sold the remix for me.
Lufia and Lufia 2 were examples of the most classic but kickass RPG music along with the Lunar series. I know this well as one that dabbled with RPG Maker. How the music told the entire story and the progression of the battle itself. This kind of music let you know what the stakes were at.
It makes sense, games before didn't have much in the way of animated action, everything you did was mostly implied rather than seeing it for real. Modern games can easily animate all the actions you took in 90's rpgs..because of this they had to rely a lot on music and sounds to effectively set the mood of what you were doing..modern games can't pull it off because they focus too much on the movements themselves rather than setting the mood with proper music and well timed sound effects.
Oh holy hell lmao. I have been a fan of music done by zircon for so long, and heard some of Jillian's stuff too but had no idea the two were husband and wife! Just another song to add to the list of awesomeness.
How do you get such a clean lead tone?! Can you please make a walkthrough of this track and go through how you mixed the track (especially the shreddage parts?) would be greatly appreciated!
It seems to me that Andrew likes to cut the lows a lot. I think more than "usual". This might be a big factor in the sound of his mixes. So for a high lead, the magnitude of the low cut would be one thing that makes it extra sparkly. Don't know if this is relevant to your question, and of course, it's more complicated than that in practice, but...
jurviz Thanks for the tip. I'll make sure to try that out, I was more interested in what amp sim software he uses, because when I try out most ampsoftwares I can never get that piercing sound that he gets that really cuts through the mix, no matter how i try to eq it.
burns like fire! i miss the old rpgs, they where real art and masterpieces. i swapped to playing mmorpgs and poe because single players today never hook me like secret of mana or lufia did.
I listened to this a ton of times a few months ago on Soundcloud and I'm just now realizing it's 7 years old it will be 8 in 3 months (this is just the age of the video, the remix could probably be older)
I know I'm here kind of late but if you like old skool JRPG and haven't played it yet you should give it a go. It's one of the best games ever made in that particular genre and era. It easily competed with the likes of dragon quest and final fantasy, if not surpassed them.
The intro got me excited, it was doing something neat with the original melody like it was building up to something. I don't know enough music terminology but I thought maybe there'd be another new 'channel' running alongside the main song. Then the opening just stopped and it transitioned into a slower-paced "Lufia 2 music in the style of Megaman X." Felt like there were 3 distinct and disconnected sections to this piece. It's too good a song to be ruined by an honest effort, but I wasn't impressed by this remix either.
When is SOMEONE gonna Make a Lufia 3?????????????????????? Lufia only thing on same Level as Final Fantasy and they Blew It!!!!!!! whats up with the trash gameboy games?? I want A Gem like the OLD DAYS!!!
Hope you don't mind, but I did a mirror upload of this video with minor audio editing to make it more like 80's Synth Rock. Full credit was given.

Using Zircon gear was the secret to success in this fight.
cant remember which gears i always had across all the play-throughs... but i never had any noticeable problems with Daos :o Erim was imho way harder
@@eternalphoenixlp9482 oh, was punning about how zircon made the arrangement so cool and is also an in game armor.
I usually listen to this while I am doing workout.
when I am feeling exhaust, that drum from 0:34 - 0:45 bring my energy back.
Whenever this song plays, watch the Diablos run away from the Charge Blades!
This remix is amazing!
It really captures "The Feels" very well, while still being a battle theme.
Goosebumps, all the way through
same

Why yes, your music prowess is superhuman. It's no wonder the Sinistrals Theme chose you.
Maxim: I´ve Dual Blade.
Daos: You have superhuman power.
Also Daos: Oh crap... you have Guy as well :(
Yeah Guy was a tank. Shit at Atk/Def when it came to magic, but boy could he use an axe.
MAN I LOVE LUFIA 1 & 2
2019, still coming back to this freaking awesome track alot of times!
One of my fav JRPGs on the SNES nice work on the music.
OMG My hairs are standing on end... NAILED this! Thank you so much!!

My „whenever you have to get serious“ Song in every pvp mode. On top it was such a great game on snes… Time to go look on my original cartridge ❤
to see that such great remixes of those old games are still being made in 2015 really relieves me alot :) Hoping to hear even more of those!
I come back to this remix so often. Masterful piece.
One of my favorite games ever!
Nice remix. Are you also doing some remixes for the Lufia 2 project of OC Remix?
Yes :)
I cant simply believe that My childhood favourite artist remixed a song from My childhood favourite game.....
Amazing ! These snes themes were something... games nowadays arent the same.

@@RetrogamingCostello13342elden ring, the witcher 3, red dead, all of from software games
sounds amazing lad.
I should have liked this a long time ago! Great job!
My old SNES just grew a new pair of "analogs". This is sick.
Such a great game with an even better remix.
Great job yo

Sure, I'll do a walkthrough of this sometime soon!
Anton Gustin
Occasionally he uses Guitar Rig, but he also uses Peavey Revalver.

Really AMAZING Remix!
Very nice! Though I wish you went a little harder after the beginning. I liked the build up from soft themes to make it more of an epic piece.
Beautiful.
Awesome man!!! Love it.
Fantastic!
Masterpiece!
Pretty good stuff.

Thank you very much for this
David went through some shit!
Huh...with that kinda title, I figured this'd be faster.

Love it but the fact Selan aint wearing a ribbon baffles me .
I miss being in the NES and SNES age. Thems were the good games.

Never played (or even heard of this game), but this song sounds amazing!
