My new neighbour cut down several large gums which were over 70yrso. Her reason as told by her is "I don't like the leaves". My thought is, why didn't you buy a block without trees then. These blocks are 1/4 acres. The other side keep asking if they can come into my yard and cut the top of my twin forked iron bark so they can build a house closer to the fence. The lopers already killed my 70 foot gum when they were supposedly just trimming off branches on the neighbours side. They already have a home and are planning to develop the block. They cut down trees over 100yrso in their yard, which kolas would come to. To me trees are the lungs of the earth. Poisoning a tree is evil.

I bought my house because of the three 60 year old black walnut tree's, in the side yard. One of my first neighbors told me I needed to get rid of these magnificent tree's because they are old. I think I said something like h*ll no are you nuts. My other neighbor comes over to pick up black walnuts every year. Then she sends over some of her delicious black walnut fudge. That Walnut tree being 100 years old, I’m sure was there long before any of the surrounding homes were built. I could understand neighbors being upset if the tree was planted afterwards, but when you buy a house you need to look at the surrounding landscapes of the other yards first. Poisoning an old tree like that is absolutely criminal in my opinion. I am a tree lover, but when we were looking at buying a house, we really liked this one house, but neighbors on both sides had tall pine trees that were so close, it posed a safety hazard to the house we were looking to buy. So, we bought another home where we didn’t have to depend on a neighbor to trim their trees up. We have trees in our own yard that we control and they don’t endanger our house or our neighbors houses.
Criminal to poison anything on your neighbor's property. That said, as a former landscaper I can say not all trees are for all places. Black walnut in particular can ruin the soil for a long distance off for other landscaping and vegetable gardens. They can cause sticky stains on vehicles and concrete as well. Think before you plant trees. Think before putting them too close to structures, sewer pipelines and houses. Consider the potential shape, size and growing habit of the individual species.
I agree with you on this, however the trees in my yard are not close to the house. Gum trees can also make it difficult to grow whatever you like. I resolved this problem by researching what will grow. Natives was the answer, but not all natives are compatible. Thank you for sharing this.
I feel bad for the tree, but i am thinking for other neighbors. The wind will blow thousand leaves to neighbors and they have to clean it daily. Its roots also damage plumming and gas/electrical lines. Trees are beautiful but if it is in a wrong place, they could be a night mare for neighbors. The yard is too small for this giant tree. You have to do soil test to prove it is poisoned. Some poison are very toxic for human and animals. It stays in soil for ever. The fruit trees around it got poison too. Do not eat their fruits.

Most likely a beautiful place 100 years ago until the 1950s. Sadly, some neighbors do not communicate to their fence line neighbors that they have a problem. It is a grave fault to have poisoned this tree or any living thing. I do not know the details, and celebrate that "Lawn Men" did a safe and fabulous job of downing the tree. We had to cut down a nearly 100 year old beautiful Cedar... it lost some big branches in a storm and was in danger to fall towards the road. We needed an official permission to do so! The neighbor should be held accountable in a court of law with heavy fine and jail time. I wonder what was their problem with the tree that they felt it had to come down. Just my opinion is that it should be a world-wide law against cutting down a tree just because you don't like it. These magnificent trees were placed here on earth for a reason: 1) to cut down carbon and purify the air, 2) to provide shelter and food for Gods fur babies, and 3) to add beauty to our world. My neighbor got with my husband and had our huge pecan cut down. He said it had been struck by lightning and was rotten at the core. It had to be over a 100 years old. When it was cut down it was solid as a rock.
What a shame to kill an old tree. Walnut trees can be messy, but surely a compromise could have been reached. Perfect that didn’t work and the neighbor had just had it.
I have a fire bowl and would have considered dropped branches free firewood, stacked it and moved on with my day. Don't know why people think the neighbors house is a better view than a tree (especially that tree, must have been stunning) but here we are.
We had to cut down the native black walnut I planted many decades ago. The juglone it produces is toxic to a lot of plants in its vicinity, even the grass wasn’t growing around it and when the roots reached the vegetable garden, it killed my veggies. I tried planting tolerant plants near there but, no luck. Was sad to see it go but, it was killing the rest of the vegetation around it and the walnuts were mostly enjoyed by the wildlife who always beat me at picking them off! It was a hard choice…
I doubt it was the neighbors. That treehouse is decades old and probably someone had put those in while building it. It just took a long time for the tree to die off.
Trees can survive wast quantities of nails whit out even being effected by them. There are some kinds of nails however, that can and will kill a tree rapidly. Not gonna say what since some effers would use that knowledge to cause harm. But then, there is also other ways to kill of trees. Chemicals, minerales, deliberate damage to certain parts of the tree. certain damage to trees ect. They just said Poisioned, and that could mean many different things in this context, so it might not nessesarly be the nails in the tree.
Besides, why would anyone build a 'playhouse' around a living growing tree? Logic dictates that either the tree will destroy the playhouse as it grows or the play house will kill the tree causing the destruction of the playhouse.
That was my question also. I would be pi$$ off if that was done to a tree in my yard. It seems something could have been worked out between the 2 home owners.
Also why would someone build a treehouse in a 100 year old tree banging all those nails into the trunk? No doubt that may have opened the tree up to rot and damage. Who knows.
Using one of those pump weed sprayers, that you can get at the hardware store. They spray pretty far once you pump them. A neighbour did this to another neighbour's old rose bushes and crabapple tree. She was not mentally well, and we were all glad when the family had her placed in a facility. She was a danger to herself and others.
PGTips sad to see the tree go !!! We love our trees I have a huge sycamore at the bottom of my garden belongs to neighbour all I ask is to look after your trees and have them pollarded not destroyed ☝️🥰
Excellent job on the tree removal. Especially cutting that trunk to the ground. I did think if some had been left it would make an interesting space for planters, bird feeders or even yard ornaments. Some nice pieces of wood there that could make some cool stuff.
Went by a house I grew up in. It was built right after WWII. At the time we lived there, the ‘70’s the historical society was trying to get it on the historical registry. Couldn’t believe what I saw. 2006 and the new owners had removed a huge walnut tree and the cherry near it……to put up a carport
Why dont they cut a notch first then cut it through? Instead of a straight cut? Seems like it takes longer this way. But overall I enjoyed watching all your hard work!
wow, walnuts are hard to kill. ah, dang, if those nails are copper, that'd kill it. that was an amazing tree. Such a shame the neighbor did that. Hope the homeowner makes the neighbor pay for the removal. So messed up. Great job dropping that monster. I have a mulberry that is almost the same size/configuration: huge trunk till about 1.5 meters then 4 limbs larger than many trees spreading just like this. Though I never had a spiffy tree house in it the tree also went up as well as out.
That in my mind is a vicious crime! 100 years old and a Walnut tree too! If it were me I would be devastated! That tree was probably there before the houses were built! It probably had a TPO on it also.
🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 The Neighbours who did this but what I fail to understand is when? Given that the top of the tree was lopped out by the owner, and all branches of the tree were fully contained within their lot How did they get access to the tree to poison it. As all the other shrubbery round the tree and adjoining property were lush and green. I reckon the the cubby houses stopped water absorbing to the trees roots , and drought have killed it off over time.
I hope some wood turners got some of this tree. Sorry to see it come down but I can only imagine the frustration the neighbors went through cleaning up debris from it. You guys did an amazing job taking it down. I hear a chainsaw and I run the other way. Not afraid of the saw but not knowing if the person using it knows what he is doing.
No one is going to want it with the nail issue, hazardous and expensive on equipment. Yard trees are famous for having this problem, years of bird feeders, badminton nets, whirligigs and clotheslines etc.
In portland OR in 1978 a tree was killed by methyl bromide - the owners had the tree cut down and a 24 foot replacement planted near the same spot. The neighbors (that killed the tree) tried to stop the re-planting - even filing a lawsuit. They were met with a $40k lawsuit lost and as their only asset was the house they lost it. However it took 2 years to get to trial. They claimed the MB was to kill moles and didn't know it would kill the tree. However as they had written a letter to the neighbors 6 months earlier telling them to remove the tree or they would sue the Jury didn't believe them.
Replace it with a walnut tree get the biggest one you can find and take them to court and make them pay for every penny you spent and the cost to replace the tree, remove the tree and the cost to rebuild the play house . Every single thing you need to replace that was destroyed to get the tree out of the ground and the roots removed so you could replace the tree.

Wait until night or homeowners have gone out for the day, hop the fence and tap a couple of copper nails into the trunk at the base of the tree. Common complaint in tree law cases, he showed the nails at the beginning of the video.
We don't need a walnut tree in town I've put up with one next door for 63 years besides the mess and stain on my sidewalk the squirrels ate the walnuts on my tree. We had to have my 30 year old river birch cut down
there is a law protecting the ancient walnut trees, depending on the state...find out if those trees were or are protected and if you have proo f that the neighbors killed the tree with ill intention then call the authorities...jail time please.
Once a tree is dead and dying it becomes a hazard and a huge liability. What one has to do is get a written statement from a certified arborist, notify the property owner of the hazard, and file a injunction with the court to remove the hazard. The property owner, knowing the hazard existed and refused to remedy will be fully responsible for civil and criminal damages for injury, death, and property damages as a result of their negligence.
I purchased a nice home in North Carolina and in between signing the deal and settling the deal (abouit 30 days), the next door neighbor hired a tree company to come in and cut down a huge 58 inches in diameter) tree in the back yard near the property line but clearly well on my side. When I confronted them they admitted to doing it and said they didn't like the tree because it dropped leaves on their side. I called police and they ticketed the woman. It's against the law to encroach like that in NC but nothing ever came of it. I should have sued but didn't have much money and had other priorities at the time.
I don’t know what state this in but in California you need a permit to take down a tree I hope they sue the Mariah or and make them pay for tearing the tree down and any other expenses. Like destroying a tree house. I’m sure that wasn’t cheap to build. They should have an arborist give a price on a beautiful walnut tree like that with m sure it was worth a pretty penny. They also need to pay to replace the tree. This could end up costing them thousands of dollars. They had no right killing your tree. I really hope you make them pay for it. I’m sure you have documentation of them company nt about the tree which is probably why the poisoned it because they wanted it gone. They don’t have the right to come into your yard and destroy your property.
I'm no expert on trees but I have always been told to not pound a bunch of nails in a tree for the nails can kill the tree. True or false, I saw at least 4 huge nails in that tree in the video, im happy the guys didn't hit them with their chainsaw. It could have been nasty. Just sayin' Great job guys!
Awesome job guys!!!
What a teamwork very nice clean job sorry about the tree house kids had fun 👍✅🪥🪥🪥
That is so sad for someone to poison a tree like that. That's horrible they should do something about its criminal
The neighbor who poisoned the tree should be forced to foot the bill to remove and replace the tree.
Besides, why would anyone build a 'playhouse' around a living growing tree? Logic dictates that either the tree will destroy the playhouse as it grows or the play house will kill the tree causing the destruction of the playhouse.
Now how did someone poison this tree inside the fence? Just curious about that.
Who knows.
You are assuming that the one owning the tree can respect you, which isn't the case.@@countrytxrose
I am confused, was it poisoned by a neighbour or by children knocking nails in by the tree house?
Ppl are horrible, why would you, lovely tree!
PGTips sad to see the tree go !!! We love our trees I have a huge sycamore at the bottom of my garden belongs to neighbour all I ask is to look after your trees and have them pollarded not destroyed ☝️🥰
You guys do a great job!!👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥
So sorry about this tree, but the wood is good for a fireplace EXCELLENT WORK GUYS
Excellent work! True professionals.
Fantastic team work - Great job.
Great job. But such a pity to see an old tree poisened
Well done, a lot of hard work 🙌🙌🙌
I can smell that wood from here. Love black walnut trees. I want planted under one.
Excellent job ❤👏👏👏
Why dont they cut a notch first then cut it through? Instead of a straight cut? Seems like it takes longer this way. But overall I enjoyed watching all your hard work!
That’s so sad
Yo best lawn men in town highly recommended
Great job
Very difficult task but you people did an amazing job 💪👍
Some furniture maker or wood turner is going to love love love that wood!
Walnut makes gorgeous furniture
Unbelievable, poisoning the Walnut, $ 12,000, would of been paid by a wood Turner / furniture baker, such a waste
Мої вітання👋🇺🇦
Молодці хлопці ви чудова команда👍💪
Make some cool coffee tables..etc..and cutting boards.great job!!😊
wow, walnuts are hard to kill. ah, dang, if those nails are copper, that'd kill it. that was an amazing tree.
Neighbour should be sued for the value of the tree, the cost to have all this work done, plus the cost to re-landscape the area
How do you know the neighbor did it? Making such an accusation in any type of media without proof is libelous.
She doesn't mention which neighbour and she potentially has 4 ...so 🤷
Looks like wedges would be a big help 😮❤
Horrible Neighbor . Did they pay to have it removed? Just despicable selfish neighbor.
That in my mind is a vicious crime! 100 years old and a Walnut tree too! If it were me I would be devastated! That tree was probably there before the houses were built! It probably had a TPO on it also.
Great video 👍
Excellent job, a new subscriber.
Hi! About the tree, It looks like Texan root rot... It is a disease that affects this type of trees...
They hired someone to test the tree. It was poisoned.
Thanks!
Remember growing up our family knew all our neighbours we spent all day outside with each other the kids stayed at each other houses our parents went out together it was great nowadays you don't even look at the neighbours them more than likely Muslim and they don't intergrate its not allowed and when the husband is drunk on whiskey and jes beating his wife her screams can be heard through the walls yes the country as changed.a lot since I was a kid
Curious how someone poisons a tree behind a fence and no one sees them?
Your pretty naive if you can't figure that out
@@JohnMead-lk2wu well most of us don’t go around planning and carrying out tree poison. Thanks for your informative response.
@@amandaerickson8778 I wondered how someone poisons a tree The surrounding growth looked healthy. Don't worry about the response. Too me most questions are worthy and deserve a worthy answer.
Wait until night or homeowners have gone out for the day, hop the fence and tap a couple of copper nails into the trunk at the base of the tree. Common complaint in tree law cases, he showed the nails at the beginning of the video.
@@terramarini6880 I saw the nails but didn’t think anything about it.
This was interesting to watch. I haven’t seen one being taken down before.
What a cruel human being.
Good job guys
The neighbors should have paid for its removal since it's their fault.
I'm no expert on trees but I have always been told to not pound a bunch of nails in a tree for the nails can kill the tree. True or false, I saw at least 4 huge nails in that tree in the video, im happy the guys didn't hit them with their chainsaw. It could have been nasty. Just sayin'
Great job guys! Interesting work indeed!
Iron not so bad but copper nails kill trees.
I'm thinking that by them showing the nails that that was the culprit of the poisoning. Copper will kill any tree quickly. @@LloydBrodrick-ne5ei
Did you keep the wood or did the lumber guys take it 🤔
did they file a lawsuit against the Aholes for killing the tree???
They should have criminal proceedings against them and pay for the replacement of an estimated value, probably in excess of £50,000...
I hoped that they sued. Because you can definitely sue and depending the type of tree and whatnot and damages to a tree and age
Was the neighbor sued for poisoning the tree? That nut tree was valuable.
Maybe the roots were causing an issue. I know my neighbor's trees are a problem for me and the septic tanks on my property.
Walnut trees give off a poison from their roots that kill some kinds of plants that are around them. Also dropping walnuts make a mess. But walnuts uts are sooo good for you & the wood would make beautiful furniture
We have a neighbor who had a Princess tree. Holy cow, that thing grew so fast and big it was unbelievable. The leaves were enormous and filled our rain gutters and yard every autumn. We never complained, but it was a problem. The roots began to creep into our yard. For reasons only he knows, the neighbor had it chopped down. The stump was huge, but they ground it down. I'm glad it's gone. I worried that one day it would land on our house. Two of his trees had already fallen over here.
A chain saw sculpturer would have loved making a sculpture from this tree trunk.
Did the homeowner with the tree in their yard have a case for the courts because a specialist said there was poison in the tree from the neighbor?
