A neighbor had 3 tall mature tall conifers in his back yard along the fence line. He trimmed them in such a way to keep them alive and they looked like beautiful Art work.
We had a rather unruly Lellandii hedge at the bottom of our garden just the other side of the fence. It was deemed too unruly by the council so it was trimmed. We now have a 20 foot tall row of dead trees. I’m glad you’re happy with yours, maybe by the time ours has rotted into oblivion it will justify the council decision.
Man rules the earth, the animals and trees don’t have a say. My grand father had a massive ponderosa pine in his yard. Big enough to be designated as a point on an aircraft compass. There was a very small air port about five miles away. The pilots could use the ponderosa as a guidance point into the landing and take off from the small area air port. His house was destroyed in one of the many earth quakes that plague the Southern California area. He was long gone when this earth quake hit the area. The city fathers ordered the tree demolished and hauled away. Their opinion was that the tree was over two hundred years old. It dropped pineapple sized pine cones every year.it took 10 dump trucks to haul away the debris . I was a youngster when it was demolished ,I’m 80 years old now.
Greatjob guys! Sometimes a tree has to com e down for the safety of the people living nearby. During Hurricane Isabel in Eastern VA in 2003 many houses were cut in half(and a few people died) because the trees had gotten so large (100 ft plus!) we had taken down 14 of the 35 trees on our lot just 6 months before, and had no damage to our house or one neighbor. Two neighbors trees landed in our yard, but no house damage.
I worked as a groundie for a company called treehab, I can honestly say that no surgeon or tree company would remove or fell a healthy tree. If the tree is rotten, has dieback, then a 90-foot tree with dieback then becomes a serious hazard especially if a strong gust of wind blows it over and demolishes a house, as I've seen 35 foot london plane with dieback be blown over and destroyed the double extension & roof on this house causing thousands of pounds of damage!!!
@@Sahadi420normally if a tree is healthy then a reduction is done or a pollard depending it can be anything from a GP1 to GP4, I'm only speaking from my own experience though!!!

Brilliant job! loved how you dismantled it with no chance of the limbs falling in the wrong direction. It's the best tree felling video I have come across. 👌🏻
Ive watched this with great interest several times. I like seeing things that are local to me. I even know the owners of this house. Good job well done.
Would a large tarp be an option to wrap around the tree on the ground and stick the two sides together? Obviously branches and logs falling will make some holes but at the end when you've got the logs and branches up, you could go around dealing with most of the cuttings/saw dust a bit easier?
That would work on a much smaller tree. There was about 8t of wood chip once we had finished chipping the branches + another estimated 10t of logs. No tarp would do that.
It is crazy watching you all use electric saws to cut so much of this tree up. Gas powered saws would have done quicker work but I am surprised at how much you were able to get done with the electric saws. Nice job.
I enjoyed watching you take down that majestic old tree Main thing I watched with comfort Not worry about the safety of your team I watch Blair Glen in California I’m comfortable watching him Well done again taking that old tree down
Western Red Cedar. Introduced in Victorian times. I have several that make that one look small. Internal pruning creates a cathedral effect and ensures air flow. As a biologist I can tell you that a rather inflammatory alga loves that species. Dust in the eye is not to be recommended.

Hey, is it possible for you to talk about why the tree was removed. It looked really healthy. Was there a special reason why it was cut down love from Canada
I couldn't help noticing the seating area closest to the tree was being completely shaded by the tree. Great to watch a dangerous tree being removed. Another one can always be planted in it's place.
Greatings from Germany. My English is not the best , but I try to write , what I think. You have done a great job. But this tree shoud never cut down in our country. It is not ill. The process of rottening in the middle is normal by a tree of this age. The stem is healthy and in a very good behaviour. Broken branches are a normal process of becoming older. There is no traffic, no electricity. Hauses are far away enough. In Germany we have a law called „Baumschutzsatzung“: Cutting of trees with more than 80cm Diameter at the height of 1 m is forbidden.“ Such a big tree is Home for hundreds of Bords, sqirrels, insects, and so on. It will need 400 new planted young trees to produce the same amount of oxygene (just read in a scientist Magazine) We need such old methusalems in our nature.
@@gorillagroundsandgardens Thanks for answering, I just thought it looked a nice tree,.... nice, but big. Shame about the rot, but nothing lives forever. A shame it started rotting. About how old do you think the tree was?
Estimated the tree was around 100 years old.
The only rot I saw was in the soul of the.owners ..karma will catch up soon .🃏🐰🕳️
Great job you should get a truck mount hoist put on to help load large logs
Its somewhere on a very long list of things to get in the future. Would have been much easier on the lads backs!

The waste from a conifer is unreal, even relatively small ones! That was more wood than Ron Jeremy!😂
A man that knows.
Shame you couldn't use the wood for something
The wood is being processed for firewood by the person we dropped it off to.
Watching the cleaning up process was just as good as watch as the actual felling 😅

It is a bit scary up there but with the right qualifications, experience and equipment it is perfectly safe.
