El imperio BLACKTOOTH, en los confines del universo, está rígidamente controlado por sus líderes, y en período de expansión militarista.
Desde el planeta Freedom han enviado a un espía para ver si puede crear malestar en la población de las colonias de Blacktooth para que se rebele contra sus opresores, encontrando las coronas que se perdieron cuando ocurrió la invasión de los conquistadores.
El espía de Freedom es una extraña criatura que se compone de dos animales simbióticos que se han juntado para operar tanto por separado o conjuntamente, Head over Heels.
Head y Heels han sido capturados e internados en el castillo principal de Blacktooth. Debes sacarles a ambos de la cárcel y llevarlos al mercado para que vuelvan a juntarse.
Una vez juntos, tienen que ir hasta la Sede de Moonbase, donde tendrás que decidir si vuelven a Freedom o si van a una de las colonias a buscar las coronas perdidas.
Si lograran liberar a cualquiera de los planetas de la opresión que sufren, serías un gran héroe.
Si llegaran incluso a encontrar las cuatro coronas, la población de Blacktooth quizás se alzara también contra sus líderes, lo cual sería ya una enorme proeza (pero casi seguro mortal para ti).
The BLACKTOOTH empire, far, far away within the confines of the universe, is rigidly controlled by their leaders, and in a period of military expansion.
Planet Freedom have sent a spy to see if he can push the slave planets into full rebellion, by finding the crowns lost when Blacktooth took over.
Freedom's spy is a strange creature formed of two symbiotic animals that have adapted to operate either independantly or join together as one, Head over Heels.
Head and Heels have been captured and imprisoned in the castle headquarters of Blacktooth. Your job is to get them both out of the castle and into the market place so they can join up again.
From there, the journey leads to Moonbase Headquarters, where you will have to decide either to try to escape back to Freedom or teleport to one of the slave planets to search for its lost crown.
To overthrow the dictatorship of any of the slave planets would be a major blow to Blacktooth and you could return to Freedom in glory.
If they get to find the four crowns, Blacktooth population may also rise against their leaders. This of course would be the ultimate accolade, and unfortunately, almost certain suicide.

Wow, I had this on C64, can't believe how much better it looks on Amstrad.
It’s because of the different graphic modes. C64 only have 2 per tile in hires. Amstrad has 4
Es una pena que la gente de hoy no conozcan los juegos de antes. Yo estuve horas y horas con Head over Heels y fue de lo mejor que me ha pasado nunca. Me lo llegué a acabar varias veces.

especially on CPC as it is the best 8bit version... and one of the most produced and refined CPC game (musics, graphics, all those stuff...)
brrr i renember my brother had an amstrad. And i to used to play this game, i renember it with fear and watching it now seends chills down my spine :P i was 5 years and dident understand english at the time.

I agree with you. The sounds of the Amstrad version are far better than the Amiga.
@@MarcGameplays Agreed. Which is insane, considering that the Amiga was THE home computer known for having the best music. A very bad port on the Amiga, I think by the developers.

@TurboHz yeah! i always did that. i did it so many times that i kind of forgot how to do heads path.. cause i always went got the doughnuts, the backtracked back and joined heels in the second room.
Just like the Speccy version but with colour :)

You can try its predecessor for 8bit computers, Batman (1986), or Monster Max for Game Boy, by the same programmers.

After years of playing the Spectrum version I had never noticed that. You learn something every day.
I take that back, I've just seen that that the Amstrad PCW and MSX versions featured yet another door design (an elephant one for Safari)

Hi, I remember in the gamebook given with the game, they tak about a "guardian" before the last crown witch "don't like donuts"... as I never managed to reach this point or to see this "guardian", could you please telle me what they are talking about ? I watched closely you video and did not see anything like that in any room.... do you have any clue ? cheers and thanks for this wonderful travel in my childhood :)

@@Meterre I disagree. 1:02.00 heels hits a spiked floor without dying. Last screen of the game. Still, I love to see the game completed.
@@SteveGodrich Also, at 1:00:40 Heels, with Head, jump on a helmet. Clearly an invulnerability cheat was running.
This is not cheating, because once you get the 5 crowns you get invulnerability.

It's great they ,ade the CPC conversion a multicolored one, but that choice of colors is nauseating!

thanks for your answer.. but this kind of "bubblin' enemy" can be found on other screen can't it ? so I'm not sure we are talking about the "guardian" the gamebook talks... anyway, I wish you a nice week-end and thanks again :)
The Guardian is the enemy featured at 57:50 and is an orb balanced on an endless explosion. The Emperor in the next room is just an explosion! They obviously ran out of memory for new monster graphics by the end of the game.
I only had keyboard to play this game found it impossible.
31:57 I always take the crown with Head, not Heels. You need to put the sandwich on the base first.
