He has become my favorite sheikh now. I see many criticism about him but wallahi no other sheikh on internet explains religious matters as detailed as him. He doesn’t speak for himself. He speaks with dhaleel . Jazzakaallah khairan sheikh

Alhamdulilah. He’s the most academic english speaker that spreads the knowledge academically via various sources of knowledge n lets viewers expand their perception and understanding. But still do go back to ur local sheikhs for personal or matters close to home, as YQ may not have context of every person’s situation.

Also, when we physically give a gift to anyone with good intention that too is believed to be rewarded by Allah SWT then His currency indeed is endless wherein alongwith the deceased if He wills he shall reward the person reciting Quran Pak for the deceased as well and Allah SWT knows best. But a beautiful practice which unfortunately is being given up by so so many households in the subcontinent
:( may Allah SWT guide us.

Wrong! You do not give away your deeds and left with nothing. You end up with multiples of the same deeds. Allah's blessings are in multiples. You must say, " Ya Allah convey this blessing also to such and such. Allah's blessing is undivided. It doesn't diminish.
      Wrong advise.
But if you say, " Ya Allah send this blessing to such and such" is different. Then you do for that person and would be rewarded.
      Make your deeds multiples.
Say convey the same reward to such and such.
      You

  • @tahirrazak9744

Brother JazakAllah Khair for the information. I am not a scholar but I have read and heard that there is no Hadith that mentions that gifting other things than what mentioned by the prophet (PBUH) permissible for dead. We are unnecessarily complicating our religion. Why we should we go after practices for which we take 30 mins to explain, give logic and references of imams and scholars. While there is an authentic Hadith which tells us exactly what should be done for a deceased.
The main objective of the Quran is to understand, follow and spread (along with Hadith) its teaching. Which we have put on side and we got into practices of gifting the reading to deceased and more. Here is an Hadith we hear in every Friday prayer’s khutba.
Jabir ibn Abdullah reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, would praise Allah in his sermon, as He deserves to be praised, and then he would say, “Whomever Allah guides, no one can lead him astray. Whomever Allah sends astray, no one can guide him. The truest word is the Book of Allah and the best guidance is the guidance of Muhammad. The most evil matters in religion are those that are newly invented, for every newly invented matter is an innovation. Every innovation is misguidance, and every misguidance is in the Hellfire.”
    Source: Sunan al-Nasā’ī 1578
May Allah give us hidayth to understand Quaran and Sunnah and apply in our life, and do good deeds while we are alive. Aameen.

I dont see an issue with gifting quran readings to our deceased but what about when this is done specifically on day 7, day 40...1 year...does this become more ritualistic? I heard is that it is fine to do every now and then but becomes bidah when its organised in such a manner and i know of people to get upset with those who do not help with quran readings or kalimas for the deceased those days.

It's not blasphemous, because ibn Taymiyyah and others 'negate' Allah is like His creation. They read out what Allah says in the Quran in regards to Allah's attribute (i.e. Allah has hands) at the same time they negate from any resemblance of His creation. In other words It's like saying we know there is a reality but we don't know what this reality looks like (He is Not like his creation - Quran) Similarly when Allah is descending - they say Allah descends in a way that befits His majesty which is unknown to us.

He has said on a separate occasion (the video he mentioned at the start of this stream) that while he personally does not conduct such events, people should be understanding and respectful of people who do conduct Quran khaanis because, in and of itself, reciting the Quran can never be considered shirk because it is directly from Allah. Even though Quran khaanis are technically a new concept, people individually doing good deeds to benefit a deceased person was done since the time of the Prophet SAWS. So as long as both sides are respectful of the others opinion and don't shame the other opinion, especially on such tragic occasions, then we will avoid unnecessary conflict in our ummah

Just try not to be strict about times and amounts eg "it must be done before three days" or "everyone has to read one para" or "we have to finish the Quran" etc because there's really no ruling for this sort of thing, just have the books out and whoever wishes to read may read as much as they want.

The basic principle concerning that is that acts of worship are forbidden; no act of worship should be done unless there is shar’i evidence to show that it is prescribed. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):
“And obey Allaah and the Messenger”
    [al-Maa’idah 5:92]
The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Whoever does anything that is not in accordance with this matter of ours will have it rejected.”
What is prescribed is to say du’aa’ for the deceased, and to give charity on his behalf, as Muslim (1631) narrated from Abu Hurayrah (may Allaah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “When a man dies, all his good deeds come to an end except three: ongoing charity (sadaqah jaariyah), beneficial knowledge, or a righteous son who will pray for him.”
Al-Nawawi (may Allaah have mercy on him) said in Sharh Muslim: "This indicates that the reward for du’aa’ will reach the deceased, as will that of charity. *As for reading Qur’aan and giving the reward for that to the deceased*, offering prayers on his behalf, etc, *the view of al-Shaafa’i and the majority of scholars is that this does not reach the deceased.*"
The fatwa of the permanent committee and of shaykh al albani makes the most sense for anyone that looks into it, based on the principle mentioned earlier. The main crux of this video revolves around whether or not it is an innovation, yet shaykh YQ never brought an example of the companions or the tabieen ever donating their recitations to the deceased.

    I have few questions:
What about the verse of the Quran that says a person can have nothing except what he does.
If gifting good deeds is like gifting money then Why Prophet peace be upon him said to his daughter Fatimah may Allah be pleased with her "ask me anything from my wealth but I can't save you from punishment of Allah" why didn't Prophet peace be upon him gift his good deeds to his daughters. Also When Prophet peace be upon him was asked that why do you worship Allah alot when Allah has forgiven all your sins? Prophet peace be upon said I want to thank Allah. He didn't say that I want to gift some of my good deeds to my family and ummah and want to thank Allah.
No doubt the person who love us more than anyone is Prophet peace be upon him yet he didn't gift any good deeds. Why???
Because you can't gift good deeds.

He is only quoting from the scholars of schools of thought. He never quoted anything from Prophet PBUH and His Companions. The opinions of the scholars of school of thought is not a valid evidence. The only acceptable evidence is Qur'an and Sunnah (Authentic Ahadith).
The Prophet PBUH already mentioned a list pf permissible acts that could be done to send reward to the deceased.
The Prophet PBUH said: "There is nothing by means of which one may draw close to Paradise and move far away from Hell but it has been explained to you" [As Sahiha 1803]
Based on what Prophet PBUH said, anything that could lead towards paradise is explained by him, but sending the reward of Quran to deceased is not mentioned or explained by him in any authentic ahadith, hence that will be considered as innovation in Islam.
Abdullah ibn Umar RA said: "Every Innovation is Misguidance, even if the people consider it to be something good" [Itiqaad Ahle Sunnah Lalikai 126, Hasan]
