    I have a Rotring Core, I also bought it in the '90s and I didn't think anyone else still had one!

      My dad bought me one when I was in middle school! t was my very first fountain pen, and I'm not even sure he knows what he started because I love and have a handful of pens now. mine is the orange and red model. 😅

    This was awesome! "That's a choice" is now in my lexicon. I've never seen the Rotring Core before and now I need one. Thanks Mike and Appelboom!

    Another glimpse into the personal fountain pen journey is both interesting and touching. University educators can vary a lot in background. One of my colleagues finished his bachelor’s, master’s, and doctorate in quantitative sciences at the University of Illinois, Like Mike and his wife, my own journey took me from Illinois to Texas (TTU), and teaching from Lubbock (LCU/TTU) to Illinois (ISU) to Tennessee (FHU) to California (30 years at Pepperdine). Mike reminds me that the fountain pen journey often involves persons, places, and profession. It is a little mirror of life itself, with each pen bringing memories, often precious ones. Thanks, Mike.

    Thank you for an interesting and moving video Mike. I can see from your face how much you like the colour orange 😃👓

      I was so nervous to get those bold frames for some reason. They're like this electric coral color that is really hard to photograph, and I really like them.

    • @EastLancashireJohn
      @EastLancashireJohn 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@inkdependence They look great! Now I am 50 years old and care less about the judgements of others, I am going to be more colourful. In fact my frames are clear plastic and the 'arms' are orange, so I am halfway there 😊
