It’s always fascinated me how closely the attempted descriptions (or use of clever language devices) of the Tao line up so closely with those of Brahman found in the Upanishads. Two ancient traditions that both arrived at the same truths, using their own respective languages in the same way to try and help us grasp such a difficult concept. Thank you so much to you both for another great conversation and explanation! 🙏🏻

And yet it is the mind that is the illusion. The mind is thinking and decides that it is "such a difficult concept". And my mind agrees :-D

Loved this! It’s the Universe’s life, not ours is so powerful! I have been watching Universe on BBC and what you have said just aligns with that and how the Universe is continually spontaneously creating and we are just a part is that process. And all the ‘mysteries’ that the scientists can’t explain, I just think that’s the Tao. I know we don’t need to science to justify the philosophy, I just like watching the Tao in action and it concretes this philosophy in my mind. 💕
Also, people are in ‘survival mode’ when using the economy as a religion….literally shouted ‘Yes!’. Makes so much sense.
Many thanks as always for your wisdom!

Very well done Brother. When you talked about people that think they talked to God it cracked me up. Many Christian ministers actually say "God told me" and their congregation believes whatever they add. Also the Devil being blamed for Bad behavior. Too funny. However while I wish I was raised with these comments, I have to say that once my Ego driven responsibilities of family and an ego centered profession were in the Rear view mirror, it released me to dive into eastern concepts of spirtuality. I have never felt more enthusiasm and energy for learning in my entire life. Being an older guy has been very freeing for me. I've met other people my age that have had the same experience usually with Hinduism or Budisim. I've met only one other Daoist where I live. This ancient wisdom is more needed now then ever before and continues to grow in relevance, especially since people in my country have such sensative egos that they get butthurt over everything. Keep up the good work Brother, you are making a difference.

I've been seeker of the Tao since i was a kid. After years and years of searching, i've come to a realization that Tao is the infinite emptiness or space that which contains everything. Everything comes out of it as form and returns to it as nothingness. Since it's space and nothingness, it was never created and since it's present moment itself, it has no beginning nor end. It's everywhere and in everyone. We're the expression of it and it incarnates as every being. In fact, we were that nothingness before we were born. We've been that nothingness for eternity. It has no name and thus, the name that can be named is not the eternal name. Lao Tzu got it! I'm so grateful that such wise person existed before and left us this timeless and profound truth. 🙏

Wonderful interpretation. I am relatively new to all this. Wayne Dyer's book Change Your Thoughts, Change Your Life gave me my initial insight on each of the 81 verses. I'd like to see nothing more than this being part of the USA's educational curriculum in schools along with meditation rather than CRT and other things that divide us. Thanks for making an impact for showing your viewers the Dao (enlightened path).

Thank you for your wonderful comment, Brian. Anything that is divisive is violent because it tears at the fabric of humanity. No one in the USA should accept any of those divisive theories, as they are violent and an act of child abuse (child abuse is also psychological). Sanity will prevail my friend.

If you see it like this may be it can help. A sculpture is a rock where a sculptor has chipped bits off it ,making it look has they feel they want it to represent their own idea or thought. If we look for a something with the mind in the same way the sculptor sees the rock , We risk being a sculptor of our thoughts. The rock is still a rock, it's just been altered. The rock has IT'S OWN FORM. The sculptor just gave you their version of the rock should look like. The Dow is the rock . The artist mind can see anything with in the rock . The monk sees in the same way as the artist but as no need to to change the rock in anyway. The sage knows tomorrow the rock can be seen over and over again as it is when left untouched. Allowing each person to see what the universe shows the seer when it is not this or that it just is a rock . T he artist creates rubble ignoring the mess that is thrown onto a tip. The rock is no longer seen as rock it's been change to an idea The myth is the artist is skilled and as created a thing of beauty . The rubbish is a by product to be brushed away . Telling everyone to just see their work of art. The indoctrination is complete . The rock is lost its real value the sage knows this. My own thought while you both spoke .

TLDR: Embracing the formless nature of the Tao and transcending societal standards allows for true consciousness and spiritual growth.
    1. 00:00 🌌 The Tao Te Ching discusses the formless nature of the Tao, emphasizing its beyond description and knowledge, similar to brahman in sanatorium dharma.
1.1 Chapter 14 of the Tao Te Ching discusses the formless and indefinable nature of the Tao, emphasizing its beyond description and imagination.
1.2 The chapter discusses the nature of the dao and emphasizes that it is beyond an object of knowledge, similar to brahman in sanatorium dharma.
1.3 The ultimate reality of the dao and brahman cannot be fully depicted or conceptualized, as they are beyond the realm of knowledge and representation.
1.4 Ultimate reality cannot be explained, only expressed in paradoxical terms.
    2. 05:39 🌌 Taoism emphasizes the formless and energetic state of consciousness, transcending logic and intellectual understanding.
2.1 The Tao cannot be known as an object of knowledge, but is instead a state of consciousness that can be felt, and is emphasized as formless and not able to be seen, heard, or held.
2.2 The Tao cannot be seen or heard, but it can be touched, and understanding it involves taking away definitions.
2.3 Taoism transcends logic and intellectual understanding, embracing the energetic state of consciousness without favoring anyone or having a deity.
    3. 09:34 🌿 Our intuition is part of our intelligence, reminding us that we are a small part of the universe and can only experience true consciousness by elevating ourselves.
3.1 Our intuition is a part of our intelligence and not a metaphysical or cosmological force, and it allows us to feel and sense things in reality.
3.2 You are just a small piece of life, and it's the universe's life, not your own.
3.3 The modern day leads us to forget what is real and focus on artificial things, creating a separation from nature and ourselves, but Taoism and Hinduism teach that we can only experience true consciousness by elevating our own.
    4. 13:42 🌌 Disintegrate your identity, invest in spiritual growth while young, and aim for realization in life.
4.1 We are one with the universe and only experience life subjectively, which is confusing for people.
4.2 The Taoist sages and jivan muktas disintegrate their identity while living, understanding that it is illusory, and aim to reach realization while young and alive.
4.3 Invest in spiritual growth and practice while young to have the energy and enthusiasm for it.
    5. 18:13 🌿 Embrace your true nature and accept yourself as you are to align with the Tao and become radically human according to Taoism.
5.1 The nature of the Tao is invisible, soundless, and formless, which is the opposite of the nature of humanity, but it is always true and can be felt in the stillness of nature.
5.2 The feeling of stillness within nature represents the stillness of our mind, which is the dao, beyond the material world, and is the force that animates all life, with each individual having their own organic pattern.
5.3 Lee, translated as the markings of jade, is present in nature and within humans, manifesting as psychological patterns and biological makeup.
5.4 To align with the Tao, one must accept themselves as they are, but modern culture and parents often teach the opposite, leading to a lack of self-acceptance and a constant pursuit of changing oneself.
5.5 Accepting yourself means embracing your true nature and being a good example for the younger generation.
5.6 Accept yourself as you are, without trying to change or upgrade, in order to become radically human according to Taoism.
    6. 25:34 🌿 Embrace the perfection of the human body as a representation of the Tao and reject societal standards of beauty and ugliness.
6.1 The human body is an amazing instrument that operates without the need for engines or machines, and we should appreciate and make good use of it.
6.2 The human body is the perfect technology, representing the dao, and there is no need to upgrade or renovate it.
6.3 Social standards create a false sense of beauty and ugliness, but understanding that humans are perfect representations of the Tao eliminates the need to conform to these standards.
    7. 30:01 🌀 The essence of Taoism is returning to stillness and reversing the constant outward movement of awareness to transcend conceptualized identity and experience the formless and soundless dao.
7.1 The idea is that we constantly categorize things as good or bad, but the Tao is always present, regardless of the time period.
7.2 The essence of the Tao is nothingness, and the goal of a spiritual practitioner is to reverse the movement of energy and return to the stillness of the void.
7.3 Returning to stillness and reversing the constant outward movement of awareness allows for marinating consciousness in the formless and soundless dao, freeing it from entanglement with society, culture, and identity.
7.4 The original nature of the universe in Taoism is the void and stillness, which is important for marinating the mind in the nothingness of the dao, despite some people dismissing it as an outdated philosophy.
7.5 The movement of energy and mind creates delusions and dramas, but by stopping the movement and experiencing stillness, one can transcend their conceptualized identity.
    8. 36:03 🌿 Traditional cultures and Taoist wisdom are essential for achieving peace and harmony in a modern world focused on economy and finance.
8.1 Traditional cultures are disappearing as people prioritize economy and finance over naturalistic philosophy, leading to a crisis of dying sanity and psychological health.
8.2 Traditional knowledge and cultural evolution provide a foundation for understanding the Tao, allowing us to build upon it and use it wisely.
8.3 Traditional cultures should be preserved and not discarded, as what worked for the ancients will work for us, and we need to focus on the real and not invest in what is not real.
8.4 Ancient knowledge and wisdom from Taoism is still relevant today, as human biology and survival psychology have not changed significantly over time.
8.5 Taoism teaches us to shed our primitive survival psychology and embrace our humanity to achieve peace and harmony.
8.6 Taoism teaches to remember the ancient way, to doubt, and to follow the natural way of the dao to experience peace and freedom from societal boundaries.

Can you really call the survivalist mentality "tribal"? Can you really say that to shed that mentality is to be "human"? You often use "anthropocentric" when criticizing Abrahamic faiths, particularly Christianity (fairly so, I may add). But how is this particular skill "human"? Is it specifically Homo sapiens? Does it encompass part or all of genus Homo? Some anthropologist argue that chimpanzees and bonobos belong in genus Homo making three distinct extant species of humans. Is it ok for them to be "tribal" if not should the be encourage to live like Homo sapiens? Is that not anthropocentric to say humans must stop acting like the animals we are and act more like an abstract concept?
