- Willy DeVille is undoubtedly a true original. From his early days with Mink DeVille at New York's infamous CBGBs club through to his later solo career he has always created a unique blend of blues, pop, Cajun and soul and seasoned it with pure DeVille magic. He's even been nominated for an Oscar. Willy has made a number of visits to Montreux and this DVD captures him at his absolute peak in 1994, with a stunning band and a superb set list.

This performance is part of the unique Claude Nobs Foundation audio-visual collection, included since 2013 in the UNESCO Memory of the World Register. He recorded here in Nashville with Brenda Lee whom also praises his originality and creative genius. He got the fame he deserved in Germany

I saw this in 1982 at my very old black and white tv just married with a great german guy and living a (material) very poor life in a small studio appartment, and this video makes me remember an absolut great time in my life life - and back then when the future had no limits

I did see him 1981 live on German TV he appeared on Rockpalast and I was instantly fascinated from his style and music.
