Spencer Seim from Hella was on an episode so it could definitely happen. I imagine eric definitely was into tera melos at one point since he was a big lightning bolt and hella fan
Fuckin A... i saw this band when i was about 18 or so... I'm 30 now. God damn time flies. I haven't followed them since drugs, I need to catch up. Thanks audiotree, you da bes.
I like how the interviewer is not so much about pedals and asks these questions in her way. you know? great for not-pedal geeky audiences i think. i like a lot. great interviewer choice id say.
@@windtunnelxo Tera Melos have existed for many years before Black Midi, so really they're more like Tera Melos than Tera Melos are like them. Unless you're referring to the "Sonic Youth/Fugazi from the future" thing, which I think fits more with Tera Melos (especially the Sonic Youth comparison, maybe not Fugazi as much). Black Midi's dope, though.
Tera Melos was my favorite band back in 2010 range. They Came to Busan, Korea without me knowing about it while I was teaching abroad in my 20's. Found out 1 month after from another girl teacher who had no idea who they were. She found out Nick grew up on the same street as her in (California?) and she ended up going out to eat with the whole band at Korean BBQ. I was devistated! Missed an opportunity of a lifetime with PANTERA-FUCKING-MELOS! Wish I knew what he meant by the Korea story and what happened!
Man, these guys get cooler and cooler the more I hear them talk and play. Saw them live a month ago in DC and they blew my mind. Easily one of the top 5 best shows I've ever been to.
so happy my friend (whats good biznatchhhy) turned me on to this band a few years ago. this is the band i get excited to show people when they ask me what i'm into....this annnnnnd chief keef....that'd be dope if nick made beats. btw
El mundo aún no está preparado para esto, pero eventualmente lo estara. Tera Melos representa a los Ramones cuya semilla germinara en un próximo Nirvana que lo cambiará todo, otra vez.
Album purchased. I wish they had been asked about their sense of melody and rhythm. If anyone can drop me a link where they talk about their songwriting process I'd be grateful.
God dammit. Saw there was a Tera Melos Audio Tree session. Saw 2017, thought to myself 'oh that's pretty old, I wonder what era that is? Xed Out?' Then they started playing stuff off of the NEW ALBUM. HOW FUCKING OLD AM I JESUS CHRIST
Best two shows I've ever been to are the two Tera Melos shows I've seen in Toronto and Ithaca. I was lucky that the crowd was pro-moshing so the mosh energy got the the band and it was a HEAVY fuckin show mannnn

I saw them in Denver about a month ago. Its was fucking rad, the entire crowd was a mosh pit and everyone was loosing their collective shit. It might have just been crowd service, but Nick said in between songs it was one of the craziest shows he'd played.
listening to the first few seconds: "i'm either gonna love this or hate this"
by the end: "i either love this or hate this."
The mere fact they can perform songs written like this is just insane.
check out monobody if you like well-written/batshit songs that sound impossible live.
I think the more insane part is once you wrap your head around them the songs are so damn catchy.
They get so groovy and funky and so good
its called practice
@@billysuter It's called a shitload of practice. ;)
Can't wait for Tera Melos Unplugged!
Just listen early albums of Maps and Atlases

im a fan of the drummers comically large beanie
Thank you for pointing this out, I actually might've somehow missed it
The "big beanie" is to keep his Headphones on
@@user-fn2ss5yg5u He looks like a goddamn GTA character
he was deffo an annoying kid
@Jagerz More like Luigi
you have to see them live to truly get their music they have the weirdest vibes man, It's half laughter half headbanging, they tickle your brain
I can't wait for when Nick Reinhart is 60 and finally gets into modular synths. I feel like it's inevitable
The Sunshine Group holy shit, I never thought of that
Inevitably Billy Corgan and his epic Siddhartha jam came to mind. Pretty difficult for Nick to top that... /s
He’s already using midi synth pickups on his guitar
"siri, set an alarm for 60 years from now"
What? wouldn't it be more like 20 something years?
Audiotree always gets the best artists, great session.
"Shout out to Melt Banana..."
Damn man, mad 'spect. Good call
@Sean Armstrong yup
I feel like they could be on the Eric Andre Show
I dont think they want to risk having their gear destroyed
Jofunin they wouldn’t, the musical guests at the end are usually safe
Spencer Seim from Hella was on an episode so it could definitely happen. I imagine eric definitely was into tera melos at one point since he was a big lightning bolt and hella fan
that would go pretty well with how rambunctious the show is, a nice angular track in the background
I bet Eric would make them play with acoustic instruments while being shocked with cattle prods or some shit like that.
14:24 *oh come on nick think of something sensitive to say*
14:32 "sick."
It blows my mind how cleanly they execute this hyper-complex stuff! Legends!
Robert Fripp and King Crimson - these are your children.
Nick is my favorite tap dancer(who also plays guitar).....
Yeah just like Riverdance.
i can hear a little bit of 80's king crimson sound. im am lovin this!
70's too, the Trash Generator opening riff is straight Fracture
def king crimson vibes from the song Slimed
Nick n Robert Fripp...gotta happen. Only so many trips around the Sun.

crapdragoon shame my dude if you got time check out Patagonian rats
The shred on Warpless Run makes me wanna flip the fuck out!
That shit just warms my heart every time.

The way he says "there's some weirdos out there" cracks me up, holy shit. I think I might be one of the weirdos tbh.

Anyone know her name? I've only ever seen her host these guys and Delta Sleep. She's great!
Nick lived next door to my best friend. He also jammed out on a cheap set of drums I had. He is also the greatest guitarist I know.
It would have been hilarious if the girl was like, “impressive, yet generic”
it's like they are sonic youth or fugazi from the future
Reminds me of polvo
Nah bro listen to Faraquet. They’re pretty similar to fugazi if a ything
Imo they are like a grungier version of 80s king crimson
And future Kurt Cobain

1:35 wow that dynamic control
These guys are so underappreciated.
These guys get tighter and tighter every year
Let me know about how the next annual orgy is.
I was thinking similar 😀
truly beyond their time by at least 2 decades maybe more.
That Hella cover they did for the intro was tight.
which song did they cover?

church gone wild in a nutshell
Finally! I watched the session and have been waiting for it to be out to watch again ever since!
Damn, warpless run is a crazy technical song. Really cool to hear it live.
What a talent, Singing with those glitchy riffs while stepping in his insane pedalboard is out of this world
Drummer has it.
Clardz is the fuckin man!
i know. Beanie over the headphones?? Genius!
his heads small enough...
If you watched the Zach Hill and Carson McWhirter video -- "this thing like scorches my dome"

Cool!
We need Polvo
this took so long to be uploaded! goddamn! shout out to all who watched the livestream :)))
The only band I've seen where every band member says something during the interview segment. They even speak for roughly the same amount of time!
King Crimson meets Black MIDI meets Yes meets Mr. Bungle. All kinds of amazeballs here.

John Clardy is my new favorite drummer. Really great band.

I missed the live session and was waiting so long for this
That drummer is amazing!
Listening to these guys since 2006. Different drummer same bass

These guys are amazing and deserve so much more attention.
been playing so much code names recently. great game

this is the first song I've heard from these guys and I'm a huge fan already
this is probably the best performance of them i've ever seen. i love their new wave influence on their new album (devo, oingo boingo, etc)
This music is incredibly beautiful, his super sonic is super beautiful, and host is amazingly beautiful!!!
great session, audiotree are a force for good in music.
i saw these guys play at a roller rink back in like 2007. after the show we smoked and had a long convo about deftones. good times.
This is beautiful guys, everything great! Shoutout to Jessica!
