My sister is always doing this. She just uses dry erase markers on something glass or plastic then puts water on it then it floats. She usually draws little stick men, she calls it her little floating man. We love your videos!
I would guess that it has to do with the cohesion/adhesion properties of water as well as the fact that the drawings are very light and spread out over a large amount of surface area. The markers are also not water soluble, they’re hydrophobic so they’ll repel the water.
I am literally laughing my ass off! I couldn't have encapsulated your thoughts or humor more perfectly! I got mine from Temu, 3 of them to be exact, and I am about to gift them to a 3 and 5 yr old tomorrow! Stay tuned! I'm so glad I watched your video!
I love 💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕 your videos I can’t watch them most of the time so that’s why when I can see it I always take my time watching it. It always puts a smile on my face . 😘💕💕
My 8 year old loves to do this. We did notice that not all markers will work. The expo brand doesn's work, but the Walmart pens do work. Oh to get the art off wiggle you spoon slightly to get them off the best.
Thingking that you could probably use a bigger surface to paint on and maybe a big flat container with water to dip it in. And does it work with regular markets? Would love a part 2🥰
No it only works with dry erase marker, regular markers will stay stuck to the spoon if they are permanent or dissolve into the water if they are water based
I remember in school, me and my friends would steal the teachers whiteboard marker and we would draw little fish and sea creatures on the back of the plastic spoons. We put them into the sink in the bathroom, and at the end of recess we would see who had the most “fish in their aquarium”. Also: how long did the markers stay on your skin for, did it wash of instantly of was it just like an ordinary temporary tattoo❤❤
This video has saved me from wasting my money on these pens thank you so much! My children would definitely struggle getting the tattoos out of the water too!
I have never seen this before and was unaware you could do this. It was so cool looking. Also I hope your pregnancy is going smoothly. You have been in my prayers for a smooth easy no complications pregnancy. I know god is a big thing in your life and he is a big part of mine as well.
0:35 First thoughts? Why does it come with a ramen spoon? 😂😂😂 Edit: actually I just realized that it's for that thing where you draw on the spoon and put then it in water to make them float.
Next time it might be easier to scoop the drawings onto some sticker paper straight after you put them in the water instead of doing them all at the end. You might get fewer casualties that way!
I saw another video that shows the ‘artist’ using waxed paper to suck the drawing off the water surface. Once dried the drawing can be used as a sticker/cut out and scrap book it etc. 🤷🏼♀️🤪
Actually, the very first video I've seen about these floating drawings, every time they drew it on the other side of the spoon... I didn't get it, why you would not follow the seller's instructions and draw it on the wrong side :D
The vendors of this product need to put some directions together. I think if you dip the spoon straight into the water rather than putting it in slowly at an angle, the whole drawing would pop out at once and not fold over itself. I have to try this. I will try to update this comment.
you draw in the wrong side of the spoon , the way to do it is drawing in the convex side in that way it's easier for the ink to detach from the surface that is why spoons are used , you can do it in any plastic surface the thing of doing it precisely in a spoon is to get advantage of the convexity of the surface 😂😂😂😂😂, seriously did you never ask yourself why the spoon is needed ? A in arts but C in science .

There was always that one person who created masterpieces on the whiteboards at school.
I used to do that all the time lol

I think that all you need is a ceramic to draw on to make it float. So for a bigger surfaces you could probably use a sera mic bowl
Wow earliest I’ve ever been keep up the amazing vids!
Who knew? Thanks to you, many if us now know. Unique for sure! 😊
You just made our day! We finally got ours to work!!! Thank you

It only works with dry-erase markers since they're water resistant ^^

I want to know the person who made this accidental discovery after drawing on their spoon, and then decided to sell it
😂😂

Wow amazing !!!Magic of science ..
Hi, I tried doing this once, but I drew the picture on the bowl then poured water on top, sadly it didn't work
The reason it works is because dry erase marker’s ink doesn’t like to stick to other surfaces it only likes to stick to itself.
This went simultaneously better and worse than I was expecting 😂
😂😂my thoughts exactly

This really was interesting I love your videos ❤
i wonder if you wash your hand first it will get rid of the oils and attract the drawing .

hi bellamena!
i wanted to ask that are u in a new art space because u don't show the background
Yes! I have a new art room and I've been working on setting it up so I can show you... it's just taken longer than expected 😂
It doesn't work 😢
I tried this and I like it

Are you and Moriah gonna do another collab
I want one!😂
I am early! Love ur videos!
Wow
The first thing I saw in their ad was that they were drawing on the back of the spoon.
If you put them on parchment paper you can make tattoos ❤❤❤😊😊😊
I literally have the same thing
Ah nice
Thanks for the reply 😄🥰

You'd think they would've given you more of a flat spatula-like instrument instead of a... spoon 🤔
Omg hii

❤
You could literally do the same exact thing with an expo or any dollar store dry erase marker and a glass plate 😂
