This is what reminds me to always appreciate diesel power. No matter how old it is or how long it’s been sleeping, just fix the kinks, heat her up and juice her batteries and watch her breathe life again. I love old trucks, dude!!!
Detroits are wide open until the engine starts and the governor tries to close the throttle. Better to hold torch 8-10 inches away from air intake while someone cranks it, it really only needs a few degrees warmer air. Avoid over use of starting fluid, I get to replace pistons and liners when operator gets frustrated and "fogs" the Ether to it.
Sorry, but you get a thumbs down. We want to see this rare gem, not your blow torch, nor do we want to see a three second drive-by. Your fire engine is rare and you should pride yourself with giving us a nice slow walk-around, maybe even take us for a ride so we can hear that baby's thunder. Could bring in some big $$$. Try again.

Spray propane in the intake, my grandpa had an old Crown school bus with a 6-71 that didn’t like starting cold and that’s how he got it started

Ever tried hitting the throttle while cranking? My Cummins loves to have the throttle massaged... even pumped when cranking it
What part of Texas was this. Also, nice truck. Love the Detroit sound.
Really miss your cold starts of this and your derby cars. Please make more and show us what you’re doing with the throttle/gas pedal
