As a Milan fan, HUGE respect for Newcastle who gave us quite a scare. But they shouldn't just drop their performance when there is still time to equalize. It was truly astonishing to see the team just run out of gas like that. Hopefully the best is to happen in the future. As for Tomori, who I watch week in and week out. He's been our best defender 3 years in a row now, center back of the 21/22 (scudetto winning) season, and our best defender since the start of this season, it BLOWS MY MIND that he is in the same conversation as Dunk or Guehi when he is LIGHTYEARS ahead of them. At the world cup he wasn't even called up and instead Maguire and Dier were called up. That screams EPL bias and total ignorance of football outside the prem. As long as this attitude exists, trust me, England will not win a single competition in Europe.
I completely agree mate... most England fans (or at least the sensible ones) have been asking why Tomori isn't in the squad for ages now In my eyes, he's our best centre back and I'm stunned that Gareth Southgate would rather pick his mates, than actually choose our best squad. As you say, we will never win anything with that mentality
it's a shame really when it comes down to it Milan should actually be going through to the knockout stage rather than the Europa league. If there was any justice PSG shouldn't have been given that scandalous penalty which would have seen Milan going through to the knockout stages, Newcastle to Europa League and PSG being eliminated
After Leao and Maignan, Tomori had been AC Milan's most important player. He has been one of the best defenders in Serie A for the past 3 seasons, plays regularly in the Champions League and has won Serie A. The way he's disrespected in England is ridiculous

When people talk about a spine of a team, they're referring to the central positions on the pitch. Is Eddie in goal, centre half, midfield and up front?

obviously biased but the only game of football that has physically had me in tears of joy was the Boro in the Uefa Cup games, to get to the final we found ourselves in the position of needing to score 4 goals in not one but two cup games and boy did we do it, has any game caused anyone to have "tears of joy"???
RB Salzburg and RB Leipzig did play against each other in the Europa League 18/19 and UEFA did not care a tad about its own rules. It was solved with the easiest of legal tricks. Disgrace.
UEFA investigated both RB clubs back in 2017 that led to many senior board members having to leave there role and concluded that after the changes nobody at either club had any influence at the other club, this allowed both teams to enter the same competition and not break section 5 of uefa rules
Nice quoting you the UEFA press release and falling for the charades of Red Bull, but still maiking my point. Both clubs belonged and still belong to RB group, aren't functionally independent. It was, is and will be a disgrace to sporting integrity, when a common owner could dictate the outcome of a game. @@ewanmorrison9716

I don’t know how you can say PSG when they barely scrapped out the group with a bad call in Newcastle and not getting sent to 10 men. They come up against a top team they will get thumped, I don’t know if they make it past the rd of 16.
UEFA's multi-club ownership/Integrity of the competition rules only apply if the same legal entity is a majority shareholder/ controls the majority of the voting rights of two or more clubs. Don't think that applies to City and Girona because CFG aren't the majority shareholders of Girona.
People are so quick to forget that had Newcastle not been robbed in Paris could possibly be going into the Europa League right now... if not better, perhaps going into the Milan game with even more confidence having beaten PSG on their turf. Now rival supporters can be unmoved by that, but in general it's bad for English football because that has had a significant effect on the coefficient for the league and that one decision could effectively cost England the extra 5th place spot. That should really be of interest this season to the likes of Man Utd, Spurs, Brighton, Villa, West Ham Not only that but the cock up with PSG has actually also robbed Milan, who should technically be going through to the knockout stages now.
@@skillen19 well this is the issue now, had Newcastle gone into the Europa League, the chances of England securing the 5th Champions League spot would have greatly increased. We could get to the end of the season and let's say Villa have a dip in form and end up 5th, they could miss out and while I'm sure the narrative will be "it's Man Utd and Newcastle's fault" but the real truth is had PSG not been given a pen, Newcastle would be in the Europa League boosting England's coefficient.
@@hartshaped that's true but Newcastle had a tougher group, Man Utd had a much easier group and stuffed it up so wouldn't blame Newcastle for failure to secure that 5th spot. For me Man Utd don't deserve a Champions League place for their poor but very funny performance this year.
Defo Newcastle were robbed against psg, that had a massive effect on Newcastle staying in Europe, Cant see PSG getting too far as were fortunate in the group stage!
On the subject of the ownerships and who does and doesn’t qualify for the ucl what would happen if girona finished higher in the lge but city won the ucl so they automatically qualify. I imagine girona would h pushed down to the uel but not 100% sure
I think Newcastle are and will be hamstrung by ffp and its affect on their ability to sign those top players to take them to the next level. You can say they are ahead of schedule but really they need to be winning a trophy and cementing top 4 in the next 2 seasons. At lot depends on the owners patience when things don't go well. Another important thing for Newcastle is their academy. That needs to start bringing players through for the first team and to sell. As a city fan I find it interesting to watch Newcastle and their development due to the similarities in the ownership. I think football wise they're in a pretty good place, they'll be ups and down for them. But their fans can enjoy the ride. The Premier league is very competitive right now. Probably 3 of the 5 best teams in the world right now. Plus villa, Newcastle, spurs. It's funny English football is in a very strong place right now. Probably the strongest its been since the late 70's early 80's?
Wild that people were bemoaning Newcastle finishing bottom of the hardest group while Man United got a free pass for finishing last in a way easier group
As a fellow Geordie, I find it weird that Alan pronounces "howepfully" and "gowe" (for "go"). You would have thought that'd he'd have realised trying to sound posher (or more appealing to southern folks) like Chris Waddle did before him would be a lesson in not being authentic.
This has trended to English pundits talking about English football with typical arrogance and disregard /disrespect for anyone else. All about money and buying players also - Ange proving all the cheap lazy pundits wrong.
Funny how when Newcastle go out of the CL with 1 win in 6 and finish bottom because of a few injuries they are 'Unlucky' but if United do the same but with a lot more injuries they were 'terrible'.
People are trying to compare Newcastles exit to Utds but there's no comparison one was the easiest group the other was the hardest group one team played for their badge the others just turned up and I'm a Liverpool fan
I think this whole 'Group of Death' is a bit over the top. Neither PSG, Dortmund or Milan would finish in the Top 4 in the Premier League. PSG are winning in a one team league and always flattered to deceive in the Champions League. The other two are just .... average. Why the 'pile on'? Simple : should've done better. Plus, absolutely no reason why they shouldn't have held out for a draw to get in to the Europa.
For any big clubs, for a long time for generations, A player or players had to perform consistently for many many enough seasons and then groomed as star(s) no matter their connections and backgrounds but now new kids on the block generations, even before they join any clubs, they all are superstars, spoiled. thus many are manipulated by unknown commercial forces behind the scenes, not playing as a solid team like passionate young one used to be sort of like before being rich and famous things are used to be careful and sneaky sneaky, but nowadays they make scenes so obvious
When the genius pep himself has said last season united are coming he can see it. Why is everyone so keen to slate united when we honestly have had the worst injuries out of any team in the league and havent been able to start our strongest 11 for 1 90 minute game let alone the majority of the season. Thankyou Micah for reminding me to have a chuckle at every opportunity. Do you guys feel that positional adversity grew your work ethic as pundits field or does regular starting do more good. Asking for my 8 year old
obviously biased but the only game of football that has physically had me in tears of joy was the Boro in the Uefa Cup games, to get to the final we found ourselves in the position of needing to score 4 goals in not one but two cup games and boy did we do it,
has any game caused anyone to have "tears of joy"???
for context - 2 years ago, 6 of that squad were bottom of the league under steve bruce., Little wonder we struggled vs last season's semi finalists
@34:35 it would be funny to have a selection from both temas :)) ManCity + Girona XD
Yes gaz definitely do ep on new champions league format 👌 and you should’ve told your mate neither of them would finish top 😂
Hi, a club that improved so much n so quickly wanted to win all ,they didn't allow themselves to build in full force like the big guns.UNWA.
@@ewanmorrison9716
bayer leverkusen can also win the uel probs ? they look really strong.
Don't worry they will fall off, they are German version of Spurs some pundit from Germany said that. Even though I love them since Lucio,Ballack/went into UCL final era but I know them pretty well that they're not ready yet
As a Liverpool fan, they're the only team I'm remotely worried about in the coming round
That Man U game is the first time i see a team look so bad, from the fans, to the players to the coaches and owners.
The UFC fighter is called John Lineker….always wild when you see Brazilians with names like that 😂
I feel like Micah's chewing gum also wanted to say something. It kept on creeping out 😂
I think europa league would be detrimental to our league form and there’s still a lot of top teams in that competition so not guaranteed to win it
I love the show lads 😂😂😂
Magpie was so unlucky definitely.. That referee error in Paris eventually proven costly 😡😡
I agree with Shearer the tool are a head of schedule don't think the fans will turn on manager they're proper fans and are happy to see the progress done properly not on oil money
After the group stage draws the pundits all said the EPL teams will go though with ease. They are so full of themself. Newcastle had some injury problems. I didn't expect Dortmund winning the group with their fluctuating performances they show in the league
DORTMUND a team Rangers knocked out with the future ballon dor winner in Bellingham
Gary : did you know Robbie Fowler, the famous dyslexic ex-footballer, has named one of his kids after you?
They call him Gary Linelicker!
micah is absolutely right about what man utd needs❗️.. they need a couple of real fighting men like: gattuso, keane, makalele, macherano and others like them🎉💪.. i’m a chelsea fan myself and we also need guys like that😉..
and i agree with alan that newcastle is way ahead of schedule and they will figure out, how to cope with that🥳.. i guess they will, when they figure out, its a good thing😎..
btw i ♥️your show🥰.. the chemistry, banter & dialoge absolutely awesome 🥳..
inter in italy is a great example of how to make succes with the right mentality: EVERYTHING for the TEAM😍.. also leverkusen in germany🎉
Don't you have caicedo?
Needs more emojis to drive the point home
I found out a certain Brazilian footballer named his son after Gary Lineker crazy influence but some reason they spell it in different variations 😂
Micah - "I have an opinion because you all haven't had to turn your volume down for a little while"
Alan - "I'd be amazed if they are/no Micah"
The views go down when Micah came back
So if there are these multi club ownership laws in the CL, explain RB Leipzig & RB Salzburg to me
Question. Would any of the three of you swap your broadcasting position for a coaching role at your beloved clubs (City, Newcastle, Leicester) specific to the position you played? i.e Strikers coach/ Defensive coach?
Or are you happy being off the grass but still involved in the game via television?
we dont have the squad to sit back and defend with the injuries we have, 2 years in after being favorites for relegation to champions league who cant be happy
That should really be of interest this season to the likes of Man Utd, Spurs, Brighton, Villa, West Ham
Not only that but the cock up with PSG has actually also robbed Milan, who should technically be going through to the knockout stages now.
As a Villa fan I would be livid if that fifth place CL spot is lost and Man Utd pip us to 4th. Long may they continue losing now.
Years ago in Scotland half the league were in Europe every year due to the coefficient
Defo Newcastle were robbed against psg, that had a massive effect on Newcastle staying in Europe, Cant see PSG getting too far as were fortunate in the group stage!
Does Micah not have an inside voice
Everyone see shearer Richard Millie 👌🏽 all black very clean.
On the subject of the ownerships and who does and doesn’t qualify for the ucl what would happen if girona finished higher in the lge but city won the ucl so they automatically qualify. I imagine girona would h pushed down to the uel but not 100% sure
What happens if Girona wins their league, City comes in 2nd in the PL, but City wins the Champions League... who goes into next year's CL then?
In what way did Man U get a free pass? 🤣🤣 they’ve been absolutely rinsed in the media and on all social platforms.
Brazilians called Gary? Or perhaps Dutch called Alan lol. Any Italian Micahs????
As a fellow Geordie, I find it weird that Alan pronounces "howepfully" and "gowe" (for "go"). You would have thought that'd he'd have realised trying to sound posher (or more appealing to southern folks) like Chris Waddle did before him would be a lesson in not being authentic.
This trio is GOLD 😂😂😂 MESSI NEYMAR SUAREZ
Very british comment by Lineker saying West Ham are favourites in the EL - Bayern Leverkusen vs Liverpool should be the final
Not a mention of Rangers winning ther group , a good away win against an on fire Betis
This has trended to English pundits talking about English football with typical arrogance and disregard /disrespect for anyone else. All about money and buying players also - Ange proving all the cheap lazy pundits wrong.
Micah Hamilton = Little Meeks
Supper bummed, I’m a Liverpool fan and I did want to see more premier league teams advance except for Man united 😂😂😂
Funny how when Newcastle go out of the CL with 1 win in 6 and finish bottom because of a few injuries they are 'Unlucky' but if United do the same but with a lot more injuries they were 'terrible'.
Dude. DUDE. Did you see the groups they got?
“Few”😂
Think it’s more no one expected them to be in ucl this season and were unlucky to go,out
People are trying to compare Newcastles exit to Utds but there's no comparison one was the easiest group the other was the hardest group one team played for their badge the others just turned up and I'm a Liverpool fan
Why do they look sad when they talk about Arsenal's achievements so far?
The UFC fighter named after Gary is John Linekar
Love the fact shearer will still be crying about NOCUPCASTLE fumbled out of the carabao cup to a really poor chelsea team 😂😂😂
Love seeing oil clubs lose.
For any big clubs, for a long time for generations, A player or players had to perform consistently for many many enough seasons and then groomed as star(s) no matter their connections and backgrounds
but now new kids on the block generations, even before they join any clubs, they all are superstars, spoiled.
thus many are manipulated by unknown commercial forces behind the scenes, not playing as a solid team like passionate young one used to be sort of like before being rich and famous
things are used to be careful and sneaky sneaky, but nowadays they make scenes so obvious
Just say so Al, it's not Sow
Maguire over Tomori 😂😂
Micah tipping psg to win the champions league is woeful ball knowledge, donnarumma is as bad as Onana for mistakes these days
When the genius pep himself has said last season united are coming he can see it. Why is everyone so keen to slate united when we honestly have had the worst injuries out of any team in the league and havent been able to start our strongest 11 for 1 90 minute game let alone the majority of the season. When we have a fully fit squad everywhere i strongly belive in ten hag and we'll be in a much better place than we currently are. Thoughts? P.s amongst all the other fiascos surrounding the club and certain players
😂😂😂 the worst injuries in the league 😂😂, Utd are rotten to the core from the top to the field even the stadium is a shambles, a captain who only cares about himself, a gk who can’t play in goals, rashford mr sulk awful
@chrisnewman9801 thats what i mean by saying amongst all the other fiascos surrounding the club and certain players. I completely agree with u
Who remembers when Shearer booted Neil Lennon in the head, then casually went to pick him up and gave him a pat on the back 😅
Any other group Newcastle would’ve qualified
Love it boys
Not mentioning Ezri Konsa is absolutely criminal. Micah Richards needs to watch more football ffs.
I have to say as a man United fan and I know we’ve been terrible for a long time but have some of that shearer Newcastle have been poor for a while now can’t hide behind being in Europe now, you three blast us every week and rightly so 😂
Can't disagree!
