@@aureliuszeta3037 - But Hitomi doesn't wish to be a Hitomi, if you put it like that. Her inability to say no to anyone makes her constantly overworked.
She doesn't have any special powers, like Hina or Anzu, but she still seems almost supernaturally gifted, the way she seems to become an instant expert in anything she tries. But that only increases everyone's expectations of her, adding to her workload.
@@Yngvarfo That's true, but her ridiculous competency isn't to blame for that, but her inability to say no and set boundaries, as you have said. My earlier statement was just me generalizing people's desire to be more capable. I think Hitomi is both a wish fulfillment that explores the idea and also a parody that shows the potential downsides.
That's why this show is so great. You have those bonkers and crazy people alongside realistic emotions and characters.
Episode 10.
This show is brilliant. Instead of relying on throwaway jokes it builds its plot and character interactions to be funny instead. Jokes are developed over time, even across several episodes, and they build upon themselves and expand in multiple directions, often overlapping and multiplying their effectiveness. This is top-tier comedy writing.
Hilarious how the bar owner turned out to be such a scumbag that even Nitta didnt want her anymore 😅
Saddens me not many people know this series. It has more animation than it really needs even.

in japan where almost every executive worker drink after work hours or in the weekend, and the most talented get enough reputation to serve the more expensive ones pay by the most whealty people? well, the reality it is in japan like this, in other countries i do not know, but in japan, drink a good drink makes more people attend the place, specially with the mobility the country has, it is not hard to go to a "popular" place to try it, if it is good enough then it will be pretty famous fast enough.
All because she can't say no to others.

Hinamatsuri shows all the extremes. We got a spoiled rich kid, a child humbled by poverty, and a hard worker. Although, the show makes these extremes more extreme than necessary

i wish I hadn't watched the mother's basement video, because all i can do is parrot what he said: this show does away with the 'everything has to stay the same' part of a comedy, so that characters and situations can keep progressing, only so that things can get more and more ridiculous
@@purplelord8531it does but it works, if you told me this show was what it was I probably would say its garbage, but it took that scene of the aliens fighting and I was instantly fighting. Like you get dragon maid levels of absurd but with some level of restraint.

One one hand she has an opportunity of a life time having such connections at a young age on the other hand she was forced to work against her will at a young age whatever route she takes its understandable

saddest scene in hinamatsuri reveals that utako is one of the toxiest person in the show and the beginning of an awful sloppy road to despair for hitomi
however the sense of humour in this scene is really great and hilarious (also the plot twist of the mother answer and the reaction) despite the fact that the reality is horrible for main characters.
"Why did I even fall for this woman?" - Nitta, when he realized Utako is a toxic person
A road to despair that leads her to learn to curse and shoot like an American soldier
"reality is horrible for main characters"- if we just take the example here, Hitomi just set up her life for success as a middle schooler- we could argue that she will be working from a very young age, but they're talking about a executive role- with her skills and plot armor going, she would be the CEO of that company before she is able to drink legally.
The betrayal is real.

The thing is, the mom isn't necessarily wrong in supporting the deception: Imagine being able to immediately get an extremely well-paying job immediately out of high school, simply because you were friends with the president of the company. You don't just throw that kind of opportunity away, especially for your only child.
