The Age of Aquarius DEBUNKED

    I did this 1.5 hr video on another channel and decided to share it here on my own channel.
    In this video Dustin Cormier suggests that as Tropical Astrologers we have no use for the Sidereal 12-sign Zodiac, we never have and we never will. What creates Aries for us is the Sun's position at the 4 cardinal points of the year, including the Equinoxes.
    The Equinox has not "preceded into Pisces and eventually into Aquarius," rather to us in the West, the equinox is always 0 degrees Aries.
    Since we named the stars at a critical time when the ephemeris was being developed based on the position of the equinox at the time (which was 2000 years ago), what we once called the star space of Aquarius actually contains nothing inherently "Aquarian" about it, at least to Tropical Astrologers.
    The so-called Age of Aquarius is based on the equinox point moving into "Sidereal Auquarius," which to us is bunk. Yet many Tropical Astrologers act like sidereal Aquarius still means something to them.
    Dustin further asserts at the end of the video that all astrologers should consider the "Nodes of Pluto" to be a possible arbiter for long-range astrological ages.

    Y'know a discussion of this between you and Timothy from Rasalila healing would be so interesting. It might turn into more of a debate though haha. I'm sure you guys would give justice to both arguments and you guys seem to collaborate well. Just a thought!

    the stellar astrology ‘age of aquarius’ could still be a thing, it would just be the age of the aquarius constellation. and disconnected from the zodiac, the equinox and the earth’s chakras - i don’t really know what characteristics the aquarius constellation has by itself.
    we can also talk about ‘energetic/magical intention’, where the constellations and the zodiac wheel have been so conceptually connected for so long, that they are now fused together on a spiritual level, even when they’ve long since drifted apart from eachother. basically, ancient astrologers infused the aquarius constellation with the energy of the aquarius zodiac sign, and now we’re heading into that space - of course this has nothing to do with broader, systematic astrological conceptualisation, it’s only my personal intuitive musings.

  • @f7forever
    @f7forever 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    I think the processional concept and Plutos move into Aquarius have gotten conflated. I suppose an 'age' is coming, it's just in the context of an outer planet transitioning

    • @HowtorockAstrology
      @HowtorockAstrology  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Have thought of that for sure, though the "Age of Aquarius"has been around sincs Pluto was in Leo in the 60s so its likely not the main correlation.

  • @sainttheresetaylor2054
    @sainttheresetaylor2054 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

    my apologies so many questions (pluto in 3rd house). just to better understand the arbritrary nature of the stellar markings, if astrology had developed 2000 years before it did and needed to pinpoint certain areas for predictive measures, what we know now as the ‘taurus constellation’ would have been called ‘aries constellation’ back then, to mark the start of the vernal equinox/ascendant point? when the sun was near the taurus constellation at this time period?
    this is assuming that with earth’s current moving and relative sliding back across the stellar signs, at some point in history, the sun was near what we now know as the taurus constellation during the vernal equinox. unless i’m wrong because the planetary movements and processions are erratic, etc.

    • @HowtorockAstrology
      @HowtorockAstrology  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Well the Tropical vernal point defining Aries in the zodiac has been a thing since around 500 bc - 0 AD - ish or longer.
      Nakshatras connected to the stars has also been around longer even than the zodiac.
      The idea here is that siderealists falsely assumed there was a connection of the vernal equinox point with the stars that lined up with it at the time.
      So an "aries constellation" is somewhat a contradiction of terms, and therefore so is an Aquarius constellation. That's the meat of the issue here.
      Yes I agree that the vernal point beginning at a certain star group still has meaning. I correlate it to nakshatras ie, we are currently in an age where the vernal equinox falls into Uttara Bhadrapada, and I think that says something about our age.
      But it has nothing to do with the 12 sign tropical zodiac becausr the zodiac (according to my camp) was never constellational, it was always "tropical," relating to the yearly calendrical dance of earth and the sun.
      Hope this is useful!

    • @roflswamp6
      @roflswamp6 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@HowtorockAstrology it's not a contradiction because nakshatras have qualities associated with the 12 rishi's, for example aswini exalts in sun the same way Aries is exalted with sun and ruled by ketu another boost to the sun...

    Even with tropical vedic astrology, the star signs (nakshatras) being fixed doesn’t make sense, because they were meant to be placeholders for planetary analysis. now we know they move in relation to planetary movement, that should be acknowledged, no?
    tropical astrology can be fixed because it is based on an objectively fixed equinoxical/ascending point system. it’s “magically coherent” if you can say that.
    but if the constellations and zodiac signs coincidentally lined up in 0AD, how did vedic astrologers know to plot it one sign behind (23 degrees behind) to reflect the planetary positions today? or was it a recent thing and are they going to continue retrograding the planetary positions to coincide with the earth’s orbit forever? (for example in 500 years March 21st will coincide astronomically with the aquarius constellation) - will i be a pisces sun with an early aquarius nakshatra in tropical vedic astrology, then?
    hope i was clear. but am just confused. thanks for the very in depth video, haven’t finished yet so might get my answer later.

    • @sainttheresetaylor2054
      @sainttheresetaylor2054 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      okay so ancient vedic astrology was sun/moon based. i’ve known about the lunar focus of sidereal astrology, but how does that makes it more locationally correct?
      i know next to nothing about the origins of nakshatras. are they based on physical constellations, if so how are they any less ‘incorrect’ than the original constellation markers, with the movements of the planets? or are they also a fixed theoretical projection?
